@startold didn't ask for this but it's only right that dino babes content is the first piece of writing on here! and it's sunday so it's gotta be cute.

it's still a little strange being back at the arc with the team, even though she's only part-time at the moment. she's spent of the day trapped in an office with lester, listening to his seemingly endless spiel about various procedures and new protocols for her PR role. there are moments where her eyes wander to the window, finding him in the hub working on something. she'd much rather be down there but, not only are they working but they're also keeping their rekindled relationship under wraps. everyone knows that they're friends again but the rest of it? ruby's convinced herself that it's much better for them both if they keep it to themselves for a while.

once they're home, shoes are promptly kicked off at the door and she wastes no time in turning to face him. ❛ finally, i can do summat i've been wantin' to do all day. ❜ hands find connor's chest, fingers gripping his shirt to pull him closer. she moves onto her tiptoes, unable to hide the growing grin on her face that appears seconds before she kisses him.

playful scoff. ❛ comin' from you! ❜ there's no maliciousness in either of their voices, it's just a little joke between them. his hair is also a mess, a fact that isn't surprising based on their activities from the night before. it's her fault, she started it. but hey, who could blame her? ❛ let me fix your hair a little. ❜ with that she moves, purposely laying on top of him and her fingers start moving through his hair. eyes land on his and ruby can't help but gaze at him. she leans forward, ready to give him a kiss when she hears both of their phones go off. that can only mean one thing. ❛ one day we're quittin' for, like, a week. ❜ a quick peck and she's off, climbing out of their bed and walking over to the wardrobe, pulling out an outfit for the day. ❛ better brush me hair quickly before we leave. don't want the team sayin' summat about it. ❜ connor though? he's allowed to, of course.

❛ oh... no! how i will ever survive that? ❜ hand settles on her chest for a moment to add to the drama, though the smile on her face gives her away. she likes his sense of humour. loves it really, even if it can be completely awful sometimes. she's about to laugh when she feels a shot of pain shooting through her chest... her wounds. hand moves away quickly and she hopes that she was able to hide what just happened. attention returns back to him. ❛ jokes aside, ❜ ruby can't help but step closer, fighting the temptation to touch him, to hold his hand. but they're just friends now. after all, he's only going to stay until she recovers. after that... well, she doesn't know what's going to happen. ❛ i'm glad you're here. but i hope y'know it's probably gonna be more than a few days. the stitches ain't comin' out for a week. ❜

❛ here ya go. a little friend for rex to play with for a little bit. ❜ box is opened and jareth flies out, immediately going for his new buddy. she smiles, watching the two dinosaurs examine each other closely. much like abby is with rex, ruby is fiercely protective when it comes to jareth. but she's fairly certain that the two will get along. ❛ so... what're ya wantin' to do? ❜

it's no secret that they're friends again, that he was crashing at her place while she was recovering but she wonders what he tells people now. she changes her attention back to the here and now, to the fact that they're finally alone. ❛ but you're irresistable, ain't ya? though... you're welcome to take off more than just your shoes but i'd have to help. ❜

she smirks, watching him remove his own shoes before feeling his hands take hers. she follows his lead without question. ❛ and here i was thinkin' you were all mine all the time. what's a girl gotta do for that? ❜ there's a giggle when he pulls her down. ruby rests against connor, enjoying the closeness. she's taking the time to appreciate the safety she finds in him. ❛ i'm pretty certain i'm gonna be hearin' him in my sleep now. ❜ there's a laugh. ❛ i think he's happy i'm back. secretly, y'know. ❜

it's been a busy day- one short trip out followed by hours of improving their systems with jess in the hub. his eyes are tired from staring at screens all day by the time they finally get home. connor has barely locked the door behind them when ruby is grabbing him. he laughs, kissing her back for a minute before pulling away. ❛ i know i'm irresistable & all but can i at least get my shoes off? ❜

he's still smiling as he takes them off & stands back up. ❛ okay, now i'm all yours. ❜ he leads her to the sofa by her hand & flops himself onto it, pulling her with him. ❛ how was your day with lester? ❜
