CHARA STUDY: FRIENDS

XANDER

URI HOLZEN-GLOVER ( matt mcgorry )* : xander’s best friend. an author, well known for his crime novels. he is a wise-guy, always cracking jokes and with a constant grin on his face. while xander is serious, uri is the polar opposite that keeps him grounded. 

MARA GRAVES ( aja naomi king )* : uri’s other half, a fiery photographer with looks to beat. she is a flirt, determined in her ways and constantly aloof. where uri can stay in one spot to write his books, she is constantly traveling the world. their relationship is constantly on the fritz. she is the voice of reason for the other boys.

WILLIAM MASON ( alfred enoch )* : works at xander’s oddities shop and is close with xander’s other friends. they lovingly refer to him as “the puppy”, as he is too naive for his own good. the most cheerful of the group, barely drinks, barely curses, and has doe eyes to match. 

MATTHEW

MAGDELINE HARRIET SHOEMAKER: matthew’s neighbor. she is around seventy years old and checks on him often. when he is too sick to get out of bed, or in the hospital, she comes over to take care of the cat. 

ZAHIRITH

TOMAS VERDINE ( cillian murphy )* : zahirith’s employer. he usually means trouble, or a job. he is dangerous to most, but he has a soft spot for her and will usually meet her with a smile --- or at least a smirk. he has been there for her more than once, when she lost her brother, he was the one to give her the first lead on his location.

LILLIAN

CADIE LYNN ROSS ( rose byrne )* : a violinist, she worked briefly at the coffee shop lillian is now hosting. they became quick friends due to their similar pasts and lack of companionship in the city, and the rest is history. she is incredibly optimistic, curious, and kind-hearted.

CHARA STUDY: MAKING FOOD.

XANDER

an amazing cook. he spent a lot of his younger days making food for timothy, so he grew up honing his talents. while he went through a long phase of not eating at all, he now will shower anyone with food, and loves the process of baking, cooking, and the like. his most popular dishes usually require hours of preparation.

MATTHEW

not particularly talented, but can find his way around a dish. he grew up in a household with a chef, so he knew nothing when he left home. it took him a while to make anything other than eggs and toast, or a salad. now he’s better, but still prefers going out or ordering take-out, especially in the middle of a painting.

ZAHIRITH

she doesn’t really like cooking, as it takes up a lot of of time and she is incredibly busy, but she is good at it. while she won’t spend hours on food, if the meal is in a reasonable time frame she will go for it. living right near a little downtown area full of late-night restaurants also helps when she has been out all day or all night working. 

LILLIAN

baking is her favorite thing to do in the whole world other than performing, and she is a decent cook. she will burn the occasional piece of toast or lasagna pan, but perfection is key. she takes pride in her food, but a lot of the time she only makes quick meals as she is in the theatre and comes home very late.

APOCALYPSE AU WEAPONS.

XANDER

a gun or some sort of hatchet. has a few knives for backup but mostly goes for something heavier he can use. also is well-known for improvised weapons, if there’s a shovel nearby you can bet he’ll reach for it.

MATTHEW

a variety of weapons, whatever he has on call. started with a gun, but realized quickly that was only good for emergencies. he found one day a modified bat with saw blades attached to the end, which is his usual go-to.

ZAHIRITH

she already has an array of daggers at her disposal so during the onslaught she doesn’t let them go, and in fact has found a few more to add to her collection. while some are showing wear and tear, she is also known to use some sort of sword or improvised weapon during desperate times.

LILLIAN

a sword that reminded her of the one she used in a play on broadway, she had at least gone to weapon training for that, so she was aware of what to do. she also is good with a bow and arrow, but her crossbow is her favorite. as long as she has arrows.

CHARACTER SEXUALITIES.

XANDER

pansexual (leaning towards men). he feels a stronger connection to men when it comes to his ability to flirt, and is more likely to admire and treat women with the romance of an 18th century novel. he finds people attractive and will focus more on their mentality than anything else. 

MATTHEW

homosexual. likes women, but does not feel attracted to them in that way. with men, he appreciates their straightforward attitudes and does not mind being so blunt. when he falls, he falls hard, which is usually an issue as they are the ones that will eventually miss him. 

ZAHIRITH 

pansexual (leaning towards women). she dominates men, knows their weak points and will strike. with women she is just as fierce, but is a little more soft and understanding. while she doesn’t care about being in true relationships, she prefers to be in one even if it’s short lived. though she loves a good one night stand.

LILLIAN

straight/bicurious/questioning. she has not had that much experience in the field of women so even though she is a huge flirt, she will be hesitant when it comes to taking things to the next level. she is truly a loyal person, and loves being sexual. her favorite outfit is her birthday suit, and she knows her way around a man.

WARDROBE: leather jacket, suits, dress pants, boots, antique band shirts, plain colored tops, thick belt, wristwatch, sweatpants, no shirt, athletic gear, sunglasses, punk. APPEARANCE: tired, dark brown eyes, dark brown/black hair, not necessarily pale but not tan, always bruised and cut, stubble/beard, tall, thin, sharp edges, buff, many tattoos.

ZAHIRITH

WARDROBE: fishnets, big boots, heels, barefoot, shorts, leather, thin and torn up shirts, lingerie as clothing, no skirts or dresses, heavy duty belts to hold knives and daggers, gloves, jewelry. APPEARANCE: painted lips (red/black), pale skin, white hair, nearly white but mostly grey eyes, thin but muscular, nearly pear shaped, simple tattoos, short, covered in scars, soft features.

MATTHEW

WARDROBE: loose clothing, lounge wear, scarves, mens fashion, 50′s style, high waist pants, slippers for shoes, loafers, sometimes a leather jacket and some jeans, usually clothing that looks almost like pajamas or something one would see on a runway. APPEARANCE: pale, ashy skin, appears sickly, dirty blond hair, blue eyes, angular features, too thin, frail, a few tattoos, average height.

CHARA STUDY: FAMILY (PT. 1)

XANDER

MOTHER, MELINDA WARD: she died shortly after he turned eleven. but at that point he had been living with timothy. her excuse was that she had some very important things to take care of, and visited often until her passing.

TIMOTHY LYNCH: a sort of foster parent. he taught xander everything he knew. their relationship changed, in a way, as the hunter grew up. at first he was like a cool uncle he was living with, and by the time he passed he was a very close friend. almost like brothers. xander still blames himself for his passing, even though there was nothing he could have done.

MATTHEW

PARENTS, ELENA & MICHAEL BRONSON: their relationship is more than strained. they both blame matthew for daisy’s death --- says he talked her into it even though he had no idea. he wanted to be an artist, they wanted him to be a doctor, or the man to take over his fathers business. they do not speak often.

SISTER, DAISY: closer than words could describe. it was them against the world. they spoke to each other late at night using sign language, would run away into the fields behind their home and be lost for hours. she was brilliant, and he loved her. her passing was the end of his world.

timothy’s watch. he’d left it on the night he’d passed and when xander got home he saw it on the table. he hasn’t taken it off since.

MATTHEW

a set of paintbrushes, the first set. daisy bought them.

ZAHIRITH

her first dagger, it’s quite shit and very broken but she won’t ever throw it away. 

LILLIAN

a dress that used to be her mother’s. she found it in the attic when she was moving, it fit her perfectly. she wears it to almost every audition she goes to.

CHARACTER ACCENTS.

XANDER 

growing up in new york, xander has a pretty thick accent. he tries his best to calm it on a normal basis while working, but when he gets angry or anxious it gets worse. 

MATTHEW

has a virginian accent. while growing up in new york, his parents and his teachers all originated from virginia. although there’s a slight tinge of new york slipping through, he sounds rather soft in tone.

ZAHIRITH 

she is very good at mimicking, meaning she slips to and fro from whatever accent she desires at the time. most of the time she speaks a general american accent, with no distinguishing features, but she also slips into a gentle russian accent as well as a thick new york one when she’s under cover. 

LILLIAN

her parents are from a place called reading, berkshire. while they moved to the outskirts of london, she still holds onto their accent rather than the ones in-city.

it was brought to my attention that matthew & lillian both don’t have cri.tical ro.le verses so just so you know, lillian is a human bard, and matthew is a high elf sorcerer! i’ll officially write up a thing in a little bit but right now there’s that!
