Raye cringed at the idea of being hired by someone to tail a man who had a restraining order on them. That was something he found absolutely vile.

"I assure you, I run background checks on the companies and individuals who hire me, if they had a restraining order, I wouldn't take the case." He said glancing down towards the wolfhound stationed between him and the man he was hired to follow. This complicated things.

"I mean no harm, I'm only gathering information." He technically wasn't supposed to say that, but honesty was as much of a flaw as it was a virtue.

"You've been following me since I arrived, haven't you?"

Raye stopped in his tracks, trying - and failing - to hide his shocked expression. He quickly shifted his gaze downward, avoiding eye contact as he searched for an excuse.

He supposed, now that Ed caught him, that his hiding spot wasn't that great. His attempt to find somewhere inconspicuous only made him stick out like a sore thumb. The fact that he was hiding at all made it harder for him to find a good reason to be following Ed without destroying the whole point of doing so.

He stepped out of the shadows, finally glancing back up at Ed. He tried to keep a straight face, adjusting his coat.

"Yes, I have," He confessed, though immediately regretted it. This was the most idiotic plan he'd ever come up with.

"But I can't say why. All I can say is that it's for good reason."
