Speaking of absolute brainrot and about the muse being there with only will to hype and overshare but not rp/write, the sketched portraits magic continues with Black Tears' party featuring Lia, Zinnya (@witches-and-weirdos) and Hoyt. Here I go again, imploding over the campaign being on break since almost a year. Send help.

Because I've been talking with @bloodyarn about this a lot, but Cal, Lia, and Rolan (and in general a lot of the refugees) might seem a bit flippant with how they court others!

I like to think that because Elturel's culture is very military/fighting focused that the cultural expectations around courting are significantly different from Baldur's Gate/The Greater Sword Coast. There's less pomp and circumstance and certainly less societal rules than what I imagine somewhere like Baldur's Gate having.

Lia and Alfira are extremely forward, asking people they're interested in out for drinks or for their time very openly.

Cal is very sweet, but traditional courting standards are lost on him, and it isn't always clear when he's flirting or just being nice.

Rolan gets flustered with the concept of flirting, and in general, talking to someone about how he feels about them is a frustrating experience for everyone involved.

You have to be so painfully direct with Zevlor regarding attraction because he simply views himself as past his prime that even when someone the same age as him flirts, he can't believe it. You have a better chance at beating him in arm wrestling.

He knew he should be in bed, not wandering the halls of a hosts castle this late at night and dodging guards. He had peeked down a certain hallway during the tour and after the warning he got about it, he couldn't help his curiosity. Of course he was going to sneak out of his room and explore.

He made sure his steps were quiet, approaching the lone door and doing his best to use the shadows to his advantage. He flicked a bobby pin out of his sleeve as he got closer. He didn't notice a pair of eyes, easily able to spot him.

As Ahri's personal makeup artist, Lia took her job very seriously. She was born for this job and put a lot of effort in her work - whether it's simply to enhance the gorgeous features of the idols or to add a little dramatic effect for a jacket cover shooting or a magazine. Greeting everyone as she entered the room, the female already saw the idol sitting in her chair. "Here I am, my dear. Ready for my brushes?"

perhaps she should have been writhing in pain, crying out for the old gods to end her suffering, but dacey had been in this position many times before. her shift had been torn away, tossed near the door of her chambers to be taken and burned away from the scent of vanilla oils of her bath. her back lay cut open with new markings, the marred skin torn easily beneath the claws of the bears in the woods, yet dacey holds no ill will and does not curse them.

rosy lips curl into a soft and gentle smile as pale arms pull her knees to her chest, back to her maid as she is tended to - it had been wylla or helya to tend to dacey's wounds in the past, leaving haggard scars upon her back, but that was before lia.

"joffrey was so mighty today, he has grown into his paws finally . . ." she speaks fondly of the creature that swiped at her back, features jolly and proud, "he will be able to hunt properly now, he will grow more and more. i believe he tested me today, just as his mother did . . . and his father."
