☀ HEADCANON 01 - FAMILY

You ever reading fanfiction and decided you're just not satisfied with fanon interpretation? That's me rn.

While we're introduced to Daisuke's family dynamic super early on:

Jun doesn't like her brother

His parents don't respect him

Which, in turn, makes Daisuke not care for his family much when pressed about dynamics. It's only after his friends pointing out that it's not normal for one household to be so hostile towards each other that makes Daisuke motivated to change his family dynamic. Especially since the older Chosen who was the predecessor of Friendship was especially threatening to beat him up for mouthing off about how he hates his sister and she's not worth his time.

Which, isn't entirely unwarranted, there's a six year age gap between the two of them. Naturally they wouldn't really get along.

As the year progresses in '02 as well as their battles with the Kaiser, Daisuke starts to realize the importance of interpersonal bonds and it's ultimately up to him to start turning the environment around at home.

You're not shown much of it on screen, but the glimpses we do get are less and less hostile, especially between Jun and Daisuke, where they just act like general nuisances, and normal sibling things. Like c'mon, why would Daisuke want to hear about her boy troubles while playing video games? LMAO

The real turing point would be when Ken relinquishes the Kaiser title. Daisuke is the only one to realize that Ken has family at home, who love and care for him. So, of course he just begs for the poor kid to go home, over and over.

Once things clear up and Ken and Daisuke start hanging out super frequently, you really start to see the home dynamic has gotten a lot better. And it only gets even better from there on with a small interaction between Daisuke's mom and another one of the Chosen's mom.

Needless to say, the home dynamic is hardly perfect; but it's a much more hospitable one filled with at least a little love.

No, no time to focus on his choice of words ( only briefly does her expression widen, a moments flush; Kaeya! They were at Favonius headquarters! ) as his weight immediately swamps her. She keeps her balance in an upright position as well as she could, eyes blinking in SURPRISE before readjusting her train of thought.

       Immediately, concern gripped at her; consumed with doting worry, she tries to shift herself into a better position. One that could TRY to make out Kaeya’s expression, but given he’s determined to keep his face buried against her, all she can do is frown.  ❝  Hey...  ❞  Oh no. He must be pretty beat. Especially... since she’s now unable to move... with the pressure... 

                     ❝  You’re heavy. && you smell like sweat.  ❞

Oh. He probably isn’t going to be responsive to her TEASING right now. She’ll let this one slide. Only once. Truthfully, it’s rare to see him so defeated... oh, well, not so openly anyway! Maybe that was a good thing!

So instead, she wraps her free arm around him, && holds onto him, playing with his hair as she settles into a more RELAXED position. Finally, a small smile perks at her lips, && she finds herself affectionately watching over him, feeling the rise and fall of his chest, and the warmth of his presence so neatly intertwined in hers.

The stick dips up and down as she waits impatiently.  ❝  Come on Sucrose, I’m not going to bite!  ❞  Amber huffs, but isn’t backing down. For now, however, she ends up eating the treat while Sucrose composes herself, humming softly, DELIGHT quick to spread across her expression. Well, if Sucrose wasn’t going to play seriously, she was going to eat ALL the pocky.

Amber understood why, of course, she had her licence temporarily revoked by Jean, and more prominently Lisa, who’d been the one to rat her out in the first place! Oh, she really did understand, but that FRUSTRATED feeling of being trapped on the ground for days on end was so... so... oh, it was unbearable! 

If she wasn’t currently so heartbroken, VULNERABLE, she may have curtly enquired as to what it was Kaeya was doing at her home in the first place - no, more so why he made himself entirely comfortable against her door frame. She may have scolded his manners, but instead, the ribbon atop her head deflates, and a frown tugs helplessly at her lips.

It seems to just occur to her that her work was put on hiatus. Oh, but still! She was supposed to be recovering ... even if she was pacing around all day, and trying to sneak in odd jobs around the complex where no one could tell her otherwise ... and ...

             She had turned her nose up at the offer. Now, her gaze fell silently on the flasks in hand. Would it be so bad...? Well, maybe not the alcohol itself, but that michehvious glint in Kaeya’s eye was tell enough that trouble would be afoot.

        She was still getting adjusted to Sumeru’s differing terrain; gliding around obstacles, && trees, and attempting to pinpoint decent landing spots. It was a WORK IN PROGRESS to say the least. But she was determined. Determined to help, && aid in whatever way she could; even if it just so happened to be a unique task for Lisa; perhaps she was up to something herself. 

Because upon reaching her destination, && being on the receiving end of some locals for causing a BIT of a scene upon her first landing...

                So Amber says, but truthfully trying to memorise                                    EVERYTHING in a book was ... difficult. 

Anyway! She was going to continue glaring at him with a hmph, foot TAPPING with her frustrations. There was no escaping her sights, && while she may care for her fellow knights greatly it didn’t silence her own suspicions of their actions. Especially when someone kept disappearing and doing things by himself!
