[ ✉ ] i realize that everything we do comes with a risk, big or small. even something as mundane as leaving the house to get groceries puts us at risk of something happening to us, we just tend to overlook it because it's something we've done so many times before yet nothing bad has ever happened. but that doesn't mean something bad won't ever happen.

loving someone also comes with risks. it's a big gamble—this person will either break your heart, or be the one you spend the rest of your life with. i think of this every time someone catches my interest, and ultimately, the fear of getting hurt again stops me from acting on my feelings. in my mind, if it's meant to be, fate will take care of it, right? whether i do anything or not, whether i confess my feelings or keep them to myself, if it's meant to be, it'll be.

but when it comes to you, i didn't want to just sit back and let fate take the wheel. i'd rather put myself at risk of getting my heart broken than miss out on the chance of being able to show you how much i love you every day. i don't know why, but you make me feel like i'm not afraid of anything, anything at all, except losing you. i've never felt this way with anyone before. perhaps it's a message from the universe, telling me, “you've found the one, now go get 'em.”
