FULL NAME:  Alastor Euan Moody. NICKNAMES/PSEUDONYMS:  Mad eye, later in the war; Astor, as a child; a number of other nicknames that probably never make it to his ears REGISTERED BLOOD STATUS:  Pureblood. FAMILY:  Hilda Moody (mother) Hilda never wanted children and didn’t pretend otherwise. She became a well established Auror during the early days of Grindelwald’s reign. An unfeeling woman who was caught up in her own ambitions, she wasn’t really cut out for mothering. Sometime around Alastor’s tenth birthday she was offered a position of high esteem with MACUSA and took it without hesitation, leaving her two sons and husband behind. They were sent to visit her one time after her departure, and chose to remain home ever since. She did not return for their father’s funeral, and the last time Alastor heard from her was when he made head auror. Graeme Moody (father, deceased) Graeme was the primary caregiver to Alastor and Julian for much of their young lives. He was a highly decorated Auror and worked closely with Dumbledore. He had everyone intention to maintain the family’s longstanding legacy of producing excellent Aurors, and treated his sons more like training recruits than children. He subjected the boys to training drills and was found that the stinging jinx promoted excellence. Despite molding himself in his father’s image, Alastor rarely did measure up to expectations. When Graeme died, Alastor was shocked to find that he felt nothing at all. Julian Moody (brother) He did get every single emotion in the family. Julian was never really cut out for the family they were born into and was the subject of many family scandals. Both the boys were disappointments in their own way, but Julian has always been the black sheep without a doubt. Alastor helped him train during the academy and was disappointed when Julian chose a different career path. When he “disappeared” for a few years after their father’s death, Alastor requested the help of one of his closest friends to keep tabs on him.
