❝ get your stuff together, pumpkin. mommy's gonna be here soon, ❞ destinee called out to her child from the kitchen where she was preparing a quick meal. she wasn't going to send her baby off on an empty stomach, even though she knew the trip to ke'miyah's house only took a few short minutes. if her ex arrived early... well, then she'd just have to join them at the table.

𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐄 𝐀𝐋𝐖𝐀𝐘𝐒 𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐄 𝐀 𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓 to send her daughter off with a nice meal on sundays. sometimes ke'miyah had time to join them, sometimes she didn't. but lately, it she'd been showing up more often than not. ❝ you are, ❞ destinee replied, shuffling around the kitchen to add the last few finishing touches to the meal. ❝ just waiting on the rice, at this point. two minutes more minutes. ❞ the professor added, stopping off at the sink to wash her hands & some of the dishes she'd used to prepare the food. ❝ how was work ? ❞

FORTUNATELY, OR UNFORTUNATELY DEPENDING ON how one views this situation, ke'miyah showed up early, letting herself into her ex's house since she still had a key.

"there's my favorite kid on the planet," ke'miyah kissed the child's head. "work wrapped up early, so, i'm here. and it looks like i'm just in time for lunch." she explained.
