“This isn’t goodbye, Hancock! After all, I still want to see you again!” And with that, the rubber pirate hugs the Pirate Empress, and he gives her a wide smile. Because while goodbyes were sad, and held sorrow and often regret, this was just a ‘see you again’! Which was always much better. 

After all, while they had their own adventures to live, they were still friends. And even if it took years, Luffy is sure that he’ll see Hancock and the others again. “Shishishi. Thanks again for everything!”

And Luffy stares at his nakama for a moment, realizing that something seem a little…strange about her. Granted, none of the Strawhat pirates were exactly normal, but Nicolette wasn’t acting like her usual self. He still remembers that night he found Nicolette tossing in her sleep, plagued by nightmares, and he wonders if they still bothered her. ( and he knows, just how scary nightmares can be ) 

He makes his way towards her without preamble, settling down right next to her. “You know, when I was really little I had some nightmares too. Ace was still meaner back then, but he always let me sleep next to him whenever I woke up sad.“ 

And he leans against her, his eyes already closing, his words becoming just a bit more mumbled. ”It was nice, because Ace was so strong I didn’t have to worry. As soon as I woke up I knew I was safe.“ A yawn. ”I’m really strong too, you know.“ He reminds her once again, before drifting off to sleep.

“Your hair is really soft after you wash it.” ( fwuff wuff ?? )

Fluff Starters

“Hmm, is it?” And the rubber pirate bends his neck all the way backwards, trying to look at his own hair, not realizing that, rubberman or not, his hair was too short for him to look at by just turning his neck. ( not that you could tell how soft something was by looking at it, anyways ) 

When Luffy realized he couldn’t see his hair, he quickly gave up trying, and shrugged. “Well! That’s good, I guess. Shishishi.” He doesn’t really care if it’s is soft or not, but he allows the other to continue to play with his hair, closing his eyes at the soothing feeling.

“Torao!!!” And Luffy leaps into the air and tackles the surgeon into a hug — his rubber arms flailing everywhere before settling around the other captain. 

“Shishishi, hiya! Look, we got Sanji back!” It was a joyous exclamation indeed, because his nakama being back ( relatively ) safe and sound was always good news that should be shared. And just the simple fact of being reunited made all things right for the Strawhat captain once more. 

( and sure, nothing went according to plan, and they made more of a mess than they probably should have, and pissed off a lot of people that were going to be a problem later — but that wasn’t important right now. ) 

“Isn’t it great to have everyone together? Both your crew and mine are finally all here!”
