"wake up, pony!"

The youngest curtis sibling sat up slowly, rubbing sleep from his eyes. y/n, who had fallen asleep in the living room the previous night was snuggled up beside Pony. She was probably carried in by Darry- he knew Pony had trouble falling asleep by himself.

''Pony!" Soda hollered again. He flew into the room, practically burning the floor with how abruptly he stopped.

Pony grumbled at his brother's unwanted morning enthusiasm. "Whats up?" he asked, gravelly morning voice low and husky.

"Darry's lettin' you skip school and Two an' I are gonna have a snow day with y'all," Soda explained, a wide childlike smile playing on his face.

Pony felt y/n yawn, something they always did when they just woke up. To no one's surprise, y/n turned to face the brothers, lazily brushing away hairs. "Who's skipping school?"

Pony looked at y/n with a fond smile. "We are. Havin' a snow day with all the guys. Sound savvy?"

Soda laughed at y/n's immediate change in expression. Their eyes brightened and they started softly hitting Pony on the thigh. "You ain't playing with me, right? Darry's chill with this?"

Soda's excitement was clearly visible with the way he was vibrating with happines. "Yep," he answered.

y/n turned to Pony. "Move it, Curtis. I need to go get ready to team up on Dare in the snowball fight we are most definitely going to have with absolutely no protests." The look they gave Pony was comical; y/n knew Pony would never say no to having a snowball fight with his brothers, they were just playing with him.

Darry had y/n on his back the second the car stopped. Their jokes with Two were downright comical, and everyone was glad to finally be out in the snow. Pony (on Soda's back) reached out and poked y/n's side which made them yelp and jerk away. Pony and Soda guffawed as y/n veered Darry off track from the hill they were heading to.

"I hate you!" y/n shriek-laughed when Darry launched y/n off his back and into the drifts. He was pulled down by the hem of his coat, falling so fast y/n barely had time to roll away before Darry plopped down and sank into the snow. As he emerged from the snow, Soda toppled over with Pony falling right beside him in his side.

Pony army crawled over to where y/n was recovering from their laughing fit. With a large smile, he pulled y/n's bulky coat-covered form onto his in an embrace.

"Silly goose," y/n whispered to Pony before giving him a small kiss on the mouth.

"Two!" Soda yelled from a drift. "Let's bury these lovebirds!"

The pair laughed again as Two-Bit scrambled to where they were located to help Soda. Pullin y/n impossibly close, Pony couldn't help but think about the first winter they were dating; y/n had pulled him out of the house to make snow angels. Beautiful little snow imprints that showed the shape of two lovers. Pony went back into the yard after y/n fell asleep and watched the snow reflect the colorful beams of light from te setting sun. Pony'd go as far as to say that was when he fell for y/n.
