ok some indie thoughts for her modern/more accessible verse bc she's on my mind:

lab born creature, an attempt to create a modern day (weaponized) dinosaur. she's not the first attempt, but is the first semi-successful prototype - the first to survive into adulthood.

not nearly as big as she is in canon, rather somewhere between the size of a cougar and a tiger. ...can still fit your entire head in her mouth though.

still a very rough prototype, she's genetically unstable and kind of sickly (no less powerful for it though)

highly intelligent. like, near human-level. she understands human speech (mostly english but has the capacity to pick others up, 100%) and is overall incredibly clever

escaped her prison of a lab after tricking one of her handlers into making a mistake. she killed him in the process and then proceeded to hunt down every other scent and face she recognized to kill them as well in a very revenge-driven rampage

fled the scene and disappeared into the wilderness, has since been learning to survive on her own

wanders into cities with some regularity, quickly learning that doing so while it's dark is most ideal and to keep to alleyways and even rooftops where possible (fortunately she's a good climber) to avoid too much attention. it's worth the extra effort despite her distrust of humans and fear of capture & re-imprisonment bc there's such easy access to food (she'll scavenge from dumpsters, hunt small animals (yes, including pets :x), and even occasionally snags an unlucky person)

has definitely been spotted a handful of times, leading to a rise in cryptid-like stories being shared of this dinosaur looking creature lurking in dark alleyways with bright orange eyes and crooked teeth that makes strange clicking and cawing sounds

has grown more curious of humans as she's seen more of them and observed more of their behaviour, coming to the conclusion that perhaps not all of them are abusive and wishing to control her. she still doesn't trust easily, but there is the possibility of developing a friendship with her - she likely won't attack without being provoked unless you remind her in some way of her late handlers or creators.

i imagine her being rather like a corvid if she takes an interest in you and/or if you bring her food or something interesting - she might bring you things she finds. there's a good chance these will be shiny or colourful

basically giant reptile-esque stray (feral) cat who wants to know more about you and learn more about everything but might also eat your dog

To The Sound of Childhood

Orion let out a sigh as she opened the door to the apartment she shared with a certain teal tipped musician. The trip to the grocery store was certainly an effort and a half. She should've gone earlier than when everyone was getting off from work. Her ears perked to the sound of a familiar song that played through the air. She quirked a curious brow and swiftly placed the bags she carried in the kitchen.

She followed the sound of the song and heard the voice of her lover becoming louder until she was in front of the second bedroom that they turned into an office makeshift gaming room. The door was slightly ajar, curious, she thought. She slowly poked her head into the room and had to stifle a laugh at the sight of her beloved dancing and singing to the song.

"'Cause I got a feeling," Venti sang along to the song, swaying along to the beat, "That tonight's gonna be a good night~" It was clear that he was unaware that she had come home, what with the free concert she was getting and by how he was singing in between giggles at his own dance moves. It was an endearing sight to see to say the least. Though this was her playlist which only made it all the more funny to see.

Of course the two had different playlists, what with hers being a mix of metal to edm and his ranging from old folk songs to much newer pop songs. The fact that he was jamming to her music, specifically her childhood songs playlist just made her feel a child-like wonder. It's interesting how he picked this song to play considering this is a song she sings a lot... It became an unconscious stim for her.

Midway a spin did Venti see her dark brown tinted hair and blue eyes that stared at him with a fond amusement. He let out a startled yelp at the sight of her, "Orion?!"

Orion let out a giggle at his reaction to seeing her and gently pushed the door open that she had been hiding behind. The song ended and shifted to another childhood song of hers. It was definitely her playlist he was listening to. "Enjoying my playlist, love?" she asked innocently that her amused expression only betrayed.

Venti didn't know whether to pause the music or just go along with the jam session he was having with her playlist. "how long have you been standing there?" he asked, feeling flushed at having been caught in his little jam session. Orion shrugged, moving further into the room, "Long enough. I didn't think you'd be jamming to my nostalgia without me."

Orion let a dramatic pout form on her lips, "You know I love running down memory lane with this playlist."

Venti let out a soft whine at her teasing theatrics, "It wasn't intentional to listen to your playlist! It just happened to start playing and I happen to have not switched playlists yet."

"Uh-huh." Orion hummed, quirking a brow at his obvious lie, "Just say that you wanted the nostalgia of songs from our childhood like a normal person."

Venti slumped, it was true. He was in the mood to listen to songs from their childhood. He found the opportunity of Orion leaving the apartment a perfect way to snag a listen to her playlist and jam to some oldies but goodies. Curse the fact that he got distracted and didn't listen for when she came home. "Fine," he whined out dramatically, "I wanted to listen to the playlist."

Orion grinned at his admission, "Knew it! Should've been a detective~"

Venti sighed in exasperation at her pleased expression but now that she is home...

The sound of laughter and a unison of singing came from the room. The two were admittedly enjoying themselves in the nostalgia of songs long gone and dancing and singing to them together. Some songs the two would dance hand-in-hand and others they'd dance by themselves. They even went as far as pretending to be pop stars on a world tour which only added to the fun and child-like wonder.

In a way both connected to their younger selves and found joy in the moment that they could share with one another. Music truly does bring people together and for the two of them it only intertwined their very beings together more.

She let out a loud yelp, jumping away while reaching for her ass, tail tucked down. It didn't hurt, or was loud, just caught her by surprise. Ember looked at the other wide eyed, "Vex, what the fuck?!"

Hi hi!! Thank you so much for the ask!! Ooooh this is gonna be so fun!! Let me do one for each of my mains!!

Charlie really likes musical theater and has introduced me to many of them!! Whenever we're just hanging out we usually end up humming whichever song is stuck in our heads, as well as just randomly blurting out little references from the musicals!!

Sir Pentious jokes that his hat gets jealous of all the love he gets, so he usually bends down so I can give it a little kiss every now and then! Other than that, he also says that his hat wants to do something romantic or affectionate when he's too shy to ask for it himself!

Simon can end up snorting if he laughs for too long, and something that never fails to make him laugh is getting to hear the little "clink" of our glasses bumping together when we kiss, so whenever I notice that he's upset I ask for a kiss so it'll make him laugh and snort!!

JD likes the fact that we're the "weird kids" of our school, he enjoys knowing that I understand his point of view on most things and he's even started to buy either two slushies or a little treat for me before he comes to school, that way we can both enjoy it!

Jacob really enjoys cooking and baking, every time I'm struggling to deal with textures or just having a hard time eating in general, he makes me one of my favorite dishes. He has the recipes for all of them written down and memorized, and he always stocks up on the ingredients for them just in case!

Nause really enjoys reading my posts! Whenever we don't know what to do to pass the time, he offers to read my writing aloud to me, but he usually skips over posts or stories that involve other characters that he's jealous of!

Muichiro really enjoys having his hair braided or played with! Whenever he's stressed or restless he just lays his head on my lap and asks me to play with his hair until he calms down or feels better. It usually ends with him holding on to one of my hands and drifting off to sleep on my lap!

Shaun likes to come up with random "smash or pass" questions whenever he's bored. He'll think of horror movies we've watched together and question if I'd smash or pass on the slasher or monster. Sometimes we both agree on the answer, other times it turns into long, heated but playful arguments about why the other's answer is absolutely wrong!

Zuko really enjoys physical affection, especially if he gets pampered because of it. Sometimes it's hard for him to come up with the proper words to express how he feels so he just prefers to give me a nice warm hug and lean into my embrace instead! Having me hold him while we lay down, head on my chest, while I play with his hair and kiss the top of his head is his absolute favorite!

Yoonbum loves wearing my clothes! Since I'm chubby and he's very thin, my shirts look like dresses on him, which are absolutely comfortable and warm, he only ever takes them off if we want to go out. He says that having my smell on him makes him feel safe and loved!

Hunter loves watching documentaries and movies about wolves, they're his favorite animals! We ended up developing the habit of cheering whenever the wolf in the documentary is successful during a hunt or courting a mate and so on! When a movie mischaracterizes wolves or something about their behavior, Hunter grumbles about it the whole time!
