SHIMORI KIZATACHI is a woman in her middle 30's who is currently working as a professional hero in Japan, also known as "The Ink Hero: Inkope", she is the former no. 5 and the current no. 4 pro hero. People know her for her impecable job as a hero but also for her charisma towards civilians.

PERSONALITY

SHIMORI is introduced as a confident, brave and whole-hearted woman, she never fails to flash a charming smile towards citizens, friends and colleagues, she brights in self-confidence and often encourages people whose hearts are filled with fear and hopelessness. she also shows a lively and strong personality, nonchalant most of the time, showing to be a confident and straightforward person. SHIMORI sometimes can appear very serious, even vexed, while facing conflicts, some people say she is intimidating and fearless fighting against villains.

despite this, her popularity among public is still pretty high. this is because SHIMORI has shown a lot of sentimentalism and concern to the people she has saved, always checking on their general health, granting emotional support to those suffering major stress from the situation they've been rescued from (even days after the incidents) and even allowing herself to express her own concerns to civilians, showing the public the more "human" side of heroes that people seem to forget. it is also her words of encouragement that assure citizens that any worry is temporary and that the sun always comes after the storm, no matter how long and dreadful the storm is. this is also a constant reminder for herself because she, aswell, carries an overwhelming feeling of living in a society where danger can always be around the corner, even from those who are unexpected. that being said, you can see SHIMORI is an extremely tender person, she cares deeply for her loved ones and works hard everyday to keep people safe and motivated, dreaming of a society that raises strong spirits, so they can stand strong in though and unfair times.

in other aspects, SHIMORI is a very perceptive and astute individual with a sharp mind, she takes proper measures before giving in into any type of impulsiveness and sinking into negativity and overthinking, remaining calm and collected despite her concerns, allowing her mind to clear before action. she is also a quick thinker, rapidly puts clues together and jumps into asserted conclusions, and as so she is emotionally mature and smart, always perceptive of people's emotions and their general state of mind, she can easily tell when someone is struggilng or having complicated feelings towards something / someone.

we notice how SHIMORI leaves hints of being a somewhat melancholic person, some matters of the past still crawl onto her back, often getting intense feelings of guilt and anxiety; the emotional exhaustion from this can leave her sleepless for a night or two. these thoughts and increasing mental health symptoms began when SHIMORI discovered that the hero society she would so wholeheartedly protect was sweeping horrible secrets under the rug (specially the former hero, Lady Nagant's case) and decided to get involved. she was never the same after that. Nagant was SHIMORI's very intimate childhood friend, so the news of her arrest completely shocked her. when she reached Safety Commission for details, these weren't given to her, causing SHIMORI to secretly open an investigation on her own to find out what was the real reason HPSC arrested Lady Nagant, because she couldn't believe her long time friend could've ever killed someone. however, the Commission found out her doings so they decided to take action.

SHIMORI still had to get hero work done and not so long after she opened her investigation, she was sent to a mission by HPSC itself. SHIMORI couldn't decline a direct order so she arrived to the place with the Commission's instructions but when she scanned the scene, she sensed something's off, minutes later she found herself facing a group of bandits who soon revealed SHIMORI they were paid by Safety Commission to assassin her. all her suspicions about the Commission were correct, but she had to make it out alive to do something against it. she engaged in battle with these bandits who outnumbered her, in which she resulted victorious (at cost of getting lethaly injured and most of the bandits' lives).

in the merge of death and laying unconscious and bleeding on the ground, she is rescued by Iwao Oguro who appeared in the area when he heard the scandal of the recent fight. SHIMORI's quirk evolved right in the climax of the battle (upgrading the ultimate move we soon get to know as "ornamental catastrophe") which was the thing that alarmed Iwao in first place and got him to take a look. Iwao recognizes her as a hero and takes her to his lair and provides her shelter and care. SHIMORI recovers and spends eight months hiding from Safety Commission (who covered their assassination attempt in media saying SHIMORI went missing during one of her missions) and living among Vigilantes, learning from them and living under Iwao's lead, aswell as focusing on processing and recovering emotionally from what has happened to her. she also uses this time to reorganize her plan against the Commission, wanting to take it down for real, she was put on advantage now that no one knew about her whereabouts.

when she decided to reappear in the streets, SHIMORI made a big scene while saving a small group of civilians cornered by a villain, who surrounded her with relief yet disquiet for all the time she was "missing". she became news and HPSC found out she wasn't dead and that she came back strengthened, so they tried to act against her one more time. but they weren't able to, because every time they tried to put an action against SHIMORI, she slipped from their grip. the woman spent her everyday life being extra wary of Safety Commission as well as doing an excessive amount of hero work, community services, gaining popularity among civilians, climbing through the rankings so HPSC had less chances of laying a finger on her because of how much of an icon for hero society she was becoming. the more popular SHIMORI got, the less it was possible for corruption to get her out of its way. they even tried to get rid of some of SHIMORI's reports on successful missions to delay her ranking all they could, so she had to overwork herself to gain the highest ranking she was capable of. her plan was to expose publicly Safety Commission's wrongdoings and yet continue to have people trusting heroes.

the Commission had enough of her doings so instead of continuing their attempts to assassin/arrest her, they targeted her parents, Hiroko Kizatachi and Naoko Kizatachi, and Lady Nagant as possible fatalities if she continued her plans, this threat exceeded SHIMORI's audacity finally and she decided to settle down and remain silent, being washed by frustration entirely; she was so close to her goal but she couldn't afford losing the ones she loved most and whom she was fighting for. these events disgust and frustrate her even in the present, because she hasn't managed a way yet to success and keep her loved ones safe at the same time.

in the present, she continued her life as a pro hero and became number 4, that's the farest she's got before the Paranormal Liberation War Arc, where her role was parallel to Edgeshot's.

QUIRK

pigment manipulation allows SHIMORI to manipulate pigments freely as long as they're nearby and at her sight, making possible for her to change the shape and consistency of the objects attached to these pigments according to how malleable the object is, as well as she can extract the pigments from it if she ever has/needs to. Commonly we see SHIMORI using ink because it's a very bendable material, which's malleability comes handy whenever she has to use her quirk.

ABILITIES

overall abilities: SHIMORI was ranked 5th of japan's pro heroes, before taking the spot of no. 4 after all might's retirement. she has proven to be a very powerful hero, not only for her sympathy towards the public but also for being a very physically skilled individual: throughout the years, she fully mastered her quirk, pigment manipulation. as she can control the levels of solidity and viscosity of some sort of pigments, using ink, her quirk specialty, she can launch ink loaded shots to her targets or create weapons like spears or poles. with a quirk as versatile as SHIMORI's, she discovered plenty and unique ways to use it more than just as an attack weapon, these may be defending by making shields of solidified ink, rescuing citizens by removing and holding debris and take the victims somewhere safer by transporting them with ink, and support to grant heroes / sidekicks any object needed (first aids tools or even weapons made of ink). as she can control the viscosity of the ink, she can also turn it into a capture tool making the ink as viscous as tar.

superior technique: although she can't control every existent pigment, she expanded her limits to their full potential to make full use of pigment manipulation, and so, SHIMORI's efforts and training granted her masterful control over her quirk, allowing her to even control organic pigments residing in living beings such as melanin, this feature putting her to advantage in many fights for being able to manipulate her contrincants' bodies.

keen intellect: as mentioned before, SHIMORI has an almost innate ability to read people's emotions, even the most slight gesture can alarm her of someone's state of mind, even tell when they are lying. as perceptive and attentive as she is, she can find villain hideouts with only a few clues, making her number of solved cases one of the highest of the ranking.

sharp intuition: SHIMORI's ability to solve cases also relies on how sharp her mind is, the police department testifies positively about her resolutions, often pining its hopes on SHIMORI's criteria in the solving of criminal cases when she takes part in.

ULTIMATE MOVES

herculean strings (ヘルクレスの弦 herukuresu no gen): multipurpose flexible yet resistant ropes of hardened ink. allows Inkope to swing through buildings as transport, use as support or capture enemies.

justice brush (正義のブラシ seigi no burashi): Inkope solidifies ink into a very sharp arrow and flexes her arms like an archer to launch a powerful shot.

ornamental catastrophe (観賞用大惨事 kanshō-yō dai sanji): nearly a long ranged attack, using high amounts of ink, she can produce an expansion of ink spikes on a 10m radius.

lake of the sorrowful artist (哀愁の芸術家の湖 aishū no geijutsuka no mizūmi): Inkope changes the liquid consistency of ink into a thick and viscous substance, using it as a trap to capture her villains.

frozen painting (フローズン・ペインティング furōzun peintingu): Inkope is capable of immobilizing her contrincant by manipulating the melanin withing their body if their strength isn't beyond what Inkope can endure.

EQUIPMENT

ink capsules: small bomb-like capsules attached to her belt, each one contains different amounts of compacted ink for her to throw and use the ink within during combat. she has plenty for a constant source of ink, however, each individual capsule contains a dangerous amount of ink.

MISC.

SHIMORI's given name contains the kanji "染" which means "dye / stain" (染 shi), with other character meaning "defend" (守 mori). as for her last name, it has the character "刻" that means "sculpt" (刻 kiza) in line with the half of the kanji (体 katachi) which meaning is "body / form", referencing her ability to bend ink into any wished shape.

SHIMORI's relationships are not talked about enough, not many people can assure who her closest relationships and contacts are. She is rather reticent about her personal life.

Her agancy's name is "Dexters Studio".

Her quirk manifested an anomaly sorrounding her sight that made her perceive colours much more brightly than average people and became photosensitive. This conditioned her to wear glasses to counter the effects of photosensitivity, sometimes she uses contact lenses for comfort.

SHIMORI was shown to be a talented artist, her main focus are geometrical and symmetrical pieces. She confirmed in one of her interviews that the tattoos covering her body were made by herself.

She's an only child.

Her parents, Hiroko Kizatachi and Naoko Kizatachi are popular artists in their hometown.

Despite not knowing who her friends are, it is deduced that she has a good treat with Midnight, Edgeshot and Crust. However, it's known that she once was close to the former hero Lady Nagant.

She ranks 4th in the overall hero rankings also as she ranks 4th in the hero popularity rankings.

QUIRK STUDY: Pigment Manipulation

This study revolves around a quirk I invented for the My Hero Academia Universe to be used by a character I also created to be part of the same universe. The study's purpose is to explain the quirk's story, capacities, limits and show outcomes and variants of being used by a professional hero, specifically by Shimori Kizatachi (the oc in question).

I do not own My Hero Academia or its rights, this was made with entertainment purposes only. However, this idea is entirely my property and you're not allowed to steal it nor reproduce it anywhere.

PIGMENT MANIPULATION allows the user to manipulate pigments freely as long as they're nearby and at their sight, making possible for them to change the shape and consistency of the objects attached to these pigments according to how malleable the object is, as well as they can extract the pigments of said objects if they ever have/need to. Although they can’t manipulate every existent pigment, there’s a range of pigments the user has control over, from artificial inks and dyes, to natural pigments. Shimori, pigment manipulation's most recent user, commonly relies on (wet) ink because it’s malleability makes it easier to control than other materials (and therefore, the reason she is called the Ink Hero)

Her quirk allows her to control pigments, ink has pigments so Shimori can control ink.

A bit of history behind this quirk. Pigment manipulation during its first generations of users, it was common to see users controlling mainly natural pigments, which Shimori, the most recent user, seems to have a hard time with. The reason behind is because Shimori’s ancestors users of pigment manipulation had children with quirkless partners or partners’ whose quirks didn’t particularly enhance pigment manipulation (like Rei Todoroki’s “Frost” did to Enji Todoroki’s “Hellflame”.), therefore, there was a slight regression throughout generations resulting in Shimori not being able to manipulate all types of natural pigments, leaving her only capable of controlling melanin.

So, pigment manipulation grants control over pigments, allowing the user to, rather: 1) handle at will the object attached to them 2) extract the pigments from said object. The first option comes handy in situations where the user wants to control any object that has any of the pigments the quirk allows them to manipulate (like a car or a wall that's falling), they would have a hard time bending said things, but hold them in place or throwing them out of the way? Absolutely. The second option, however, is not commonly used by Shimori, but if it were the case, it could be mostly used outside of hero work, for example, to obtain dyes without going through the entire extraction process (chromatography) or the manufacturation of artificial dyes. It sounds useless first-hand, but some users had found use to it, Naoko Kizatachi, Shimori's father, for example; both him and his spouse, Hiroko Kizatachi, are hobbyist artists and Naoko uses pigment manipulation to obtain natural dyes from different sources to use on their paintings, turning into an efficient and economical fount of material.

Now the reason why Shimori chose to stick around ink is quite simple. As I said before, ink is a very malleable material, bending it is very simple. Shimori can change its shape and consistency very easily allowing her to launch middle range attacks, create weapons for close range combat, create transport (she commonly bends ink into a board and controls it to transport her or creates strings to swing among buildings), create capture weapons by hardening ink or thickening it into a viscous substance similar to tar, rescue people by holding them with ink ropes/platforms, etcetera.

If you're familiar with Avatar: The Last Airbender or The Legend of Korra, you'll notice pigment manipulation is very similar to metalbending:

Overall, pigment manipulation is a very interesting quirk, enhanced correctly, it can reach and surpass the user's limits, meeting with a powerful and useful power capable of the unimaginable, useful in more than one way and reliant in every situation.

Oh yeah, definitely, as a pro she normally would have to injure her opponents in order to capture them, she mainly uses her quirk (creating ink spikes and launching them towards her enemies), I think that counts as stabbing?

➥ My job is to capture villains and save citizens, I am not obligated to lethally injure my opponents. However, I once found myself cornered by multiple dangerous villains on a mission in Osaka, five years ago. I considered self defense the right choice back then, otherwise those villains would've killed me.

if I'm honest, I'm not sure! I have a few things in mind but I'm waiting to make the final choice just in case I think of something more interesting.

⤷ the first idea was that Shimori meets Shinya in kindergartden, they become friends because Shimori thought Shinya's quirk was absolutely insane (in her 5 y/o words) and Kamihara was a very silent child that quite appreciated Kizatachi's interest and compliments (basically the extrovert x introvert dynamic). Shimori often encouraged him to talk to her about his interests, finding out he had a thing for ninjas.

they separate in middle school to go to different schools and they lose touch for years, but reencounter once again at UA's doors when they're about to take the entrance exam. They cherish that they end up in the same class and as the academic year goes on, they meet a Second Year of the Hero Course: Tsunagu Hakamada. These two spied on the second year/s more than once because they wanted to see and learn more about this Hakamada guy that always hid his face and that was also one of the best of his class, thinking they could learn something from him to become heroes. The moment they gained the courage to speak to him, it was the moment they would never leave Tsunagu's side like two annoying kids. I love to think Shinya and Shimori were the "dumb energy" duo of the group while Tsunagu the one having to deal with them. Hakamada can't seem to help it and ends up warming up to this duo and they start hanging out together as friends.

⤷ another idea I had is that she just met them when she was climbing through the rankings, maybe when she ranked as the no. 8 hero, she met Tsunagu for the first time, at the Hero Billboard Chart JP event when he was ranking beneath her as no. 9. Shimori found Tsunagu's hero suit a bit hilarious but still decided to compliment it "You have taste" she said, the fiber hero glanced at her sideways, up and down "Thank you. You too". That's probably the first time they exchanged words, since they've never really seen eachother before if it wasn't via News and TV. This happened when Shimori was 29 and Tsunagu 31. Probably they stop by and talk with eachother a bit after the event is over, exchanging ideals and opinions, getting along quickly and maybe grabbing a coffee afterwards. And as for Shinya, I still have to think about it, maybe they did meet eachother while doing hero work at a same area/case or something like that.

2. and yes! luckily she is alive after s6 and I'm not planning on unalive her anytime soon so she'll be fine! :)

if you mean why is she a hero it's because it was her childhood dream! like most of the kids of My Hero Academia, she wanted to be a hero that saved everyone. however, what makes her story any different was that her childhood friend Kaina Tsutsumi (Lady Nagant) was taken in to become a hero without the need to go through highschool, receiving private education instead. this made Shimori want to catch up with her friend so they would become heroes together someday!

also about her hair.... she really wants to answer! 👀

oh yeah, a dating sim is the perfect representation of how my self/oc inserts work, even when the "routes" are not canon nor relevant for the plot itself at all AHAHAHAHA yet you are correct, polyamory/open relationships can work quite well.
