               It was the primary reason why Cyrus rarely took on cases for young children. They could break your heart and he didn't know how long he could take such a thing. It was one thing to lose a grown adult that had lived a life, it was another to lose someone so young. ❝We thought he was but he came back to the hospital and he seems to be taking a downward fall.❞ A soft sigh is offered with his words as if that would ease the feeling in his stomach. ❝Found nothing? Christ, El, I'm sorry. You'll figure it out. You're the smartest person I know.❞

at the mere mention of the little's boy name, elise's blue-eyed gaze glanced up to meet the male's, a frown tugging at her features. "i thought you said he was improving?" she questions, her heart breaking for both little boy and his parents. "i'm sorry, that's awful." she can't help but reach out to squeeze his knee. she could only imagine how hard it must be for him, knowing there was nothing he could do for the other. " mine was alright, i went through my dad's stuff again, trying to understand what happened but i found nothing." everyone assumed the older man had taken his own life, but she refused to believe it.
