i feel like olivia and hugh were the kind of couple to exchange promise rings before they were engaged. like, they were together for five years before they got married. i feel like after two, they got the promise rings and then after four they were engaged and after five, they were married. so i think while olivia was buried wearing her wedding ring, hugh has her promise ring.

olivia’s favourite artist was elvis and hugh saved up to surprise her with tickets to one of his last shows before he died. they roadtripped cross-country for his last show in austin. steve and shirley went with them though they likely don’t remember it as they were too young.
