Dell Technologies Championship 2017 live stream: Tee times, TV schedule, and how to watch Round 4 online
We've got a loaded leaderboard and NBC back in control for the only scheduled Monday finish of the year on the PGA Tour.
It's hard to see any of the four FedExCup Playoffs events matching the finish we got at the opener last week, but we're set up again with a loaded leaderboard for the final round of the Dell Technologies Championship. The annual stop in Boston is the only scheduled Monday finish of the year on the PGA Tour, wrapping around from Friday to Monday over the Labor Day weekend. And it's delivered plenty of superstar winners and compelling finishes as the holiday weekend winds down and the competition from other sports fades late on Monday afternoon.
We don't have the juicy final pairing of Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth duking it out like last week at The Northern Trust, but the potential for such superstar jostling at the top of the leaderboard is there in Boston. Justin Thomas, the favorite for Player of the Year, shares the lead at 12-under with Marc Leishman. Within the top 10 and within striking distance of that leading number are Spieth, DJ, Phil Mickelson, and Jon Rahm. And we have Rickie Fowler just outside that number at T11 and five shots back with 18 to play. This is a course that can yield some low numbers and big leaderboard jumps, so all those big guns are still in it.
Each of the last 7 winners at TPC Boston trailed entering the final round. Monday scoring average of those winners: 65.6.
— Justin Ray (@JustinRayGC) September 4, 2017
Superstars! A crowded leaderboard! A major market! Millennials! This is the kind of brew that the PGA Tour wants for its postseason and maybe with a Monday finish, they might get some eyeballs on it before football swallows the last two events of the FedExCup whole later this month.
The Playoffs have now also transitioned to Golf Channel and NBC full time for the last three legs, which is met with wide-ranging applause in the grumpy corner of the universe that is Golf Twitter. It means CBS is done for the year, and CBS, well, they've become a punching bag for that grumpiness. With NBC now on the controls, we don't get that annoying 30-minute blackout period when we switch over from Golf Channel to CBS and that always seems to come as the leaders are starting and marking early moves in their final round. NBC is a sister-network of Golf Channel, so we jump right into it without delay. And, as you'd know if you were close follower of the golf twitter curmudgeons, it's just a better production with often many more actual golf shots shown. Here's your media schedule for the holiday finish:
Monday's final round coverage
Television:
11:30 to 1:30 p.m. — Golf Channel
1:30 to 6 p.m. — NBC

Dell Technologies Championship 2017 live stream: Tee times, TV schedule, and how to watch Round 1 online
The annual stop in Boston is the only Friday to Monday event on the PGA Tour, which may be giving this longstanding championship the boot.
There is only one PGA Tour event each season that doesn't end on a Sunday evening and that's this week's Dell Technologies Championship. Even with a handful of Monday holidays scattered throughout the interminable PGA Tour schedule, only Labor Day is used for the unorthodox wraparound Friday through Monday format. It helps that it falls in the middle of the FedExCup Playoffs, where one break week is mixed in each year between the four-event postseason. That often comes after Labor Day, so there's not a huge travel rush getting off to the next stop on Tour.
This is the first year of the Dell Technologies Championship, which takes over as title sponsor for what used to be the Deutsche Bank Championship. Not much has changed, however, aside from the name and title sponsor. The annual stop in the Boston area has held this holiday weekend on the schedule and we're back again at the same course, TPC Boston. This event, however, may not be long for the PGA Tour's rota.
The continued speculation around an upcoming schedule overhaul is that this Labor Day stop in Boston will get the boot from the FedExCup Playoffs. The reporting over this PGA Tour season has indicated that the Playoffs may be going down from four to three events. They'll also likely move to August, a corresponding change to the PGA Championship's announcement earlier this month that they were moving their major from August to May. That leaves August open for the PGA Tour to complete their postseason before football, both college and the NFL, swallows the entire sports world whole. The new schedule would have the Playoffs ending on Labor Day weekend, as opposed to late September when everyone is watching football. To do that, it's rumored one event will be cut and the Boston stop is most likely, despite its connection to PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan.
So this may be one of the final two or three of these in Boston (whatever name you want to attach to it — Dell Technologies Championship is quite cumbersome, no?). The postseason field sits at 100, so we'll still need to make a cut after 36 holes but we're not exactly working with a massive group here through the first two rounds. Many pre-cut fields come in around 150 players. The 100 here gives the Tour a ton of flexibility to work around inclement weather, which has been known to hit this championship.
As is custom with these enormous cash FedExCup events, all the big names are on hand. Here are your coverage options and tee times for the opening round on Friday.

PGA Championship tee times 2017: Start time and pairings for Friday's Round 2
A handful of lesser-known names will have plenty to prove on Friday at Quail Hollow.
Quail Hollow proved to be a major-caliber course in its first day hosting the PGA Championship. The question now is whether the game’s top golfers can master the newly renovated track in time for the weekend’s championship rounds.
2017 British Open champion Jordan Spieth summed up the course’s new, more challenging greens.
"That makes no sense at all,” Spieth said after a missed putt on the fifth hole — his 14th of the day — dropped him to +2. “It's these new greens. They do two different things."
Spieth, one of the top picks to hoist the Wanamaker Trophy Sunday evening, finished his opening round with a +1 72, five strokes off the lead.
Day one made it clear Quail Hollow is not the same course Rory McIlroy once dominated en route to a -21 finish at the 2015 Wells Fargo Championship. Longer holes, narrower fairways, and physics-defying greens have created the kind of challenge worthy of a major tournament. While top 10 fixtures like Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Hideki Matsuyama all found ways to escape to the happy side of par, other notable pros like Spieth, Henrik Stenson, and Sergio Garcia found themselves struggling to disappointing starts.
Friday will separate the wheat from the chaff in the season’s final major. With the cut line rapidly approaching, the world’s best golfers will have to find a way to tame Quail Hollow or face an early trip home from North Carolina. The second round will also give several lesser-known duffers the chance to prove they’re for real.
Some intriguing names dotted the top of the leaderboard early on day one. Jim Herman, a former self-taught assistant pro at one of President Donald Trump’s golf courses, led the field for a brief moment before falling back to the pack and finishing at -2. Thorbjorn Oleson, a Dane who has never won a PGA Tour tournament, ended his day in first place after a -4 showing. Other less recognizable golfers like Grayson Murray, Gary Woodland, and Tony Finau also earned a spot in the top 10 after the first 18 holes of play.
The odds of remaining at the top of the leaderboard, ahead of a stacked field that includes each of the world’s top 10 golfers, aren’t especially bright. They’ll have plenty to prove Friday, where another solid round would put them in prime position for a championship run this weekend.
Here’s where every player will start their second rounds. All times are Eastern.

2017 PGA Championship TV schedule: Coverage and start time for Friday's round
A longer, meaner Quail Hollow is proving it’s major tournament material.
Day one of the PGA Championship saw lesser-known pros like Jim Herman and Thorbjorn Olesen stand atop the leaderboard for extended periods. Can a field loaded with golf’s biggest stars rise to the top on cut day? Or will a new star take a big advantage into the weekend’s championship rounds?
Thursday’s opening round proved a harried 12-week renovation was enough to transform Quail Hollow from a PGA Tour stop into a course worthy of one of golf’s major events. Two years after Rory McIlroy ripped through the course with a -21 to win the Wells Fargo Championship by a whopping seven strokes, a longer, meaner track kept the world’s best golfers in line.
Management at the course added four new holes and altered several others, forcing players to start their day with a 524-yard first hole. At most courses, that’d be a challenging par-5. At the PGA Championship, it’s a par-4. Boasting a range of shot-stopping bunkers, it’s a showoff hole designed to prove Quail Hollow is, in fact, major material.
Revamped greens and narrow fairways caused trouble for some of the event’s biggest names on day one. Jordan Spieth, the reigning British Open champion, needed to birdie two of his final three holes on Thursday just to finish at +1. Other top 10 fixtures like Sergio Garcia and Henrik Stenson also struggled their way to above-par rounds.
That doesn’t mean the top of the leaderboard was devoid of big names. 2017 U.S. Open champion Brooks Koepka started his tournament with a -3 that put him in great position as the weekend approaches. World No. 1 Dustin Johnson, at -1, is in a similarly strong position.
The golfers will have more than just the course to tame at Quail Hollow. A balmy North Carolina climate meant sun, temperatures into the high 80s, and humidity so thick you can almost see it. That will only get worse Friday, as scattered thunderstorms threaten to halt play and drain players as they get deeper into their round.
Here’s where every player will start their second rounds and how you can follow all the action live. All times are Eastern.

2017 PGA Championship TV schedule: Coverage and start time for Thursday's round
Rory McIlroy is the favorite, but Hideki Matsuyama could ride a hot streak to his first major title.
Rory McIlroy has traditionally dominated the Quail Hollow golf club, winning two Wells Fargo Championships and losing another in a playoff in his seven trips to the North Carolina course. Will he still be able to master the exclusive links after extensive changes transformed the track from a Tour stop to a PGA Championship host?
Administrators at Quail Hollow shut the course down for 12 weeks prior to 2017’s final major, making changes aimed at preventing another -21 round — the score with which McIlroy won the 2015 Championship by a whopping seven strokes — from the dynamic Northern Irelander. Four new holes have been added, including a monster 540-yard par-4 that will welcome contenders as they start their round. Fairways have been narrowed, the rough has gotten rougher, and the greens have gotten bigger and faster.
All those changes should create a welcome challenge for a field that includes each of the world’s top-10 golfers. While McIlroy is the favorite, he’ll have to fend off challenges from young powerhouses like Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson, and Hideki Matsuyama to win his third PGA Championship.
Spieth will tee off Thursday in one of the tournament’s most interesting groups. The 2017 British Open champion will join the season’s two other major winners, Sergio Garcia (Masters) and Brooks Koepka (U.S. Open) in an all-star triad. Right behind them will be Johnson, the world’s No. 1 golfer, along with top-10 fixtures Henrik Stenson and Jason Day. That one-two punch will make the start of the four-day tournament appointment viewing for golf fans.
This week’s PGA Championship will be fans’ second-to-last chance to watch the event in August. Traditionally the sport’s final major of the year, the tournament will be moved up to May starting in 2019. That will give the PGA Tour a quick turnaround from the Masters to the season’s second major, ensure that no more than a month goes by between the game’s most prestigious tournaments, and push the British Open into that fourth and final slot.
That should help golfers escape the warm and muggy weather that threatens this year’s Championship. Temperatures in the mid-to-high-80s and scattered thunderstorms are in the forecast for all four days of the event, and the humid Carolina weather could prove to be a drain on the game’s top athletes. Sunday’s final round could be a test of endurance, especially on a course that now tops out at over 7,400 yards.
The first step on the road to the championship rounds begins Thursday. Here’s how you can watch all the action from Quail Hollow — and when you can find your favorite golfers on the first tee.

British Open TV schedule 2017: Coverage of Round 2 at Royal Birkdale
With the cut looming, several stars need to make a move in England.
With Thursday’s opening-round jitters — and any concerns of lingering jet lag — in the rear view, the field at the 2017 British Open is beginning to jell.
On Friday, the stage will be set for the championship rounds.
The second round of the Open will be the last for approximately half the field, and we’ve seen big names fail to advance to the weekend in 2017’s other majors. The cut at the Masters claimed names like Danny Willett, Henrik Stenson, Bubba Watson, and Alex Noren. Favorites like Stenson, Dustin Johnson, Adam Scott, and Jon Rahm all failed to last four rounds at this year’s U.S. Open.
More big names are slated to fall Friday on one of the PGA Tour’s most unforgiving courses. The Royal Birkdale is hosting its 10th British Open, and its links are a perfect encapsulation of the sport’s history on the isle. The course takes advantage of the rolling valleys of England’s west coast, dropping wide greens into a pastoral backdrop.
At 7,200 yards, the course isn’t especially long, and a lack of trees and water hazards gives the impression that golfers can take big drives off the tee with little risk. However, a minefield of deep bunkers nestled throughout Birkdale’s fairways are designed to steal shots and stop progress. Once these pros get to the green, a long, undulating path stands between them and the hole.
The challenge there is real. Padraig Harrington won the Open at the Royal Birkdale with a +3 final score. He finished four strokes ahead of the next closest competitor. Only four golfers could claim a score of +9 or lower that weekend. In 1998, the only thing that got champion Mark O’Meara under par for the event was a four-hole playoff with Brian Watts.
That increased difficulty will soften the curve by which the cut is set, but expect to see some big names leaving Southport early on Friday evening. This year’s Open is host to a stacked field that includes all the the world’s top 25 golfers along with veteran stars like Harrington, Ernie Els, Ian Poulter, and the always-entertaining John Daly.
Here’s how you can catch all of Friday’s action live, whether it’s on television, on the radio, or streaming over the internet.

British Open 2017 live stream: How to watch Thursday's round online
Tumblr media
Dustin Johnson is the favorite, but recent history suggests someone else will get their first major victory.
The third major of this year’s PGA Tour schedule begins Thursday and with it a chance for Dustin Johnson to solidify his position as the world’s top golfer. After a freak accident and disappointing play left him with just two underwhelming rounds at the Masters and U.S. Open, he’ll look for vindication — and a second major PGA Tour victory — at the 2017 British Open.
Johnson is a slight betting favorite to raise the Claret Jug, but he’ll have to fend off a loaded field to get there. Each member of the World Golf Rankings’ top 25 will be at the Royal Birkdale in England this week, taking on the challenge of one the golf world’s most notoriously difficult courses. The Birkdale is an essentially British loop, combining all the best qualities of a classic links course with the swooping valleys and hills of England’s coastline.
In its 128 years of existence, the club has hosted nine Opens, developing a reputation as an unforgiving beast in the process. Deep bunkers dot the fairways, punishing even the smallest mistakes off the tee. Back in 2008, the last time the event came to the course, Padraig Harrington ran away to a four-stroke victory despite posting a four-round +3 score. In all, only four golfers finished at +9 or lower.
Having a prior U.S. Open win on his resume may be bad news for Johnson. The past seven PGA Tour majors have been won by a golfer earning his first major win — the most recent coming from Brooks Koepka at the U.S. Open. You’d have to go back to the 2015 Open, won by Zach Johnson, to find the last victor with a major title on his record.
Zach Johnson will be in the fold Thursday, but he’ll be staring up at a field that includes Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy, and Sergio Garcia. If the recent trend of first-time winners holds true, they may all wind up chasing golfers like Jon Rahm, Rickie Fowler, and Hideki Matsuyama as they grind toward a validating breakthrough win in England.
For Americans, the event starts in the wee hours of Thursday morning. Mark O’Meara’s opening group tees off at 1:35 a.m. ET, when it will be covered live on the Golf Network and online through the network’s official stream. Here’s how you can follow along.

British Open TV schedule 2017: Coverage of Thursday's first round at Royal Birkdale
Tumblr media
One of the game’s most punishing courses welcomes back Europe’s most prestigious tournament.
The third PGA Tour major event of the year tees off Thursday when the world’s best golfers try to tame the Royal Birkdale golf course at the 2017 British Open. The biggest question leading up to this year’s tournament is whether or not the tour can build another new star or if an established veteran will walk away with the Claret Jug.
First-time winners have dominated the top tier of golf the past two years. The last seven majors have been won by players earning their first taste of the game’s brightest spotlight. Players like Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Henrik Stenson, and Sergio Garcia have all earned their first major victories since 2015. That year’s British Open was the last time a repeat winner — Zach Johnson — claimed one of golf’s four most important championships.
There are several strong candidates to keep that streak alive. Jon Rahm only has one PGA Tour victory under his belt, but he’s the eighth-ranked player in the world. Rickie Fowler has finished in the top five in six different majors, but he could finally break through in England this weekend. Hideki Matsuyama is one of the game’s rising stars at 25 years old and just finished tied for second at the U.S. Open.
They’ll all look up at Dustin Johnson, the current betting favorite to leave Great Britain with a shiny sterling trophy. Johnson is the world’s current No. 1 golfer, but he’s had awful luck at 2017’s major events. A slip and fall down the stairs forced him to pull out of the Masters with a back injury. He was healthy for the U.S. Open, but a +4 score through two rounds prevented him from making the cut.
The British Open presents a chance for redemption, but it will be a challenge. Each of the world’s top 25 golfers will take to the Royal Birkdale in hopes of taming one of the game’s toughest courses. The 128-year-old club will host the event for the 10th time, subjecting players to a classic links-style layout replete with deep sand traps and large, undulating greens.
A lack of water and trees will allow the tour’s big hitters to take some chances off the tee, but a multitude of fairway bunkers will punish even the slightest mistake. Those open fairways and the course’s proximity to the ocean also mean gusty winds can create havoc for even the most experienced players. This was apparent back in 2008, the last time the Open came to Birkdale. Padraig Harrington struggled to a +3 final score — and still won the tournament by four strokes.
Here’s how you can follow all of Thursday’s opening-round action on television, over the radio, and online.

Travelers Championship 2017: Tee times, TV channel, and live stream for Round 3
Jordan Spieth leads in Hartford, while Rory McIlroy tries to make a dramatic weekend charge up the leaderboard.
One of the strongest fields in Travelers Championship history hits the weekend, where some of the largest crowds on the PGA Tour schedule will pack in to TPC River Highlands. It’s become an annual New England tradition for many now, heading to Cromwell for what is one of the rowdier and more well-attended tournaments.
This Saturday, they will have some starpower to watch in between sips of their beverages. Jordan Spieth, playing in his first ever Travelers, sits on top of the leaderboard after 36 holes. That position is held mostly due to the work he put in on Thursday, a 7-under 63 that was the lowest opening round of his PGA Tour career. He held on in the second round, posting a number in the red that was still good enough to stay in first by a shot on what is normally a track that sets up for manic leaderboard movement. Spieth will play in the final spot on the tee sheet alongside Ryder Cup partner Patrick Reed and Troy Merritt.
While Spieth is the big name on top, the Travelers did lose some of the star power in a field that was fascinating to watch come together over the last few months. The biggest names missing the cut were Jason Day, Bubba Watson, and Justin Thomas. Day just never had it from the start on Thursday and while this is a course where Bubba has feasted in the past, his season-long struggles continued even on a comfy layout.
The one big name that the event was in jeopardy of losing snuck into the weekend right on the number. Rory McIlroy, also playing in his first ever Travelers, spent all of Friday afternoon teetering on the cut line. A slip and chunked wedge shot on his last hole of the day led to a bogey that made it look like he’d miss the final two rounds for the second straight week. But the last few groups out on the course, and his finishing bogey, moved the cut line to exactly even-par. A massive 85 players made the cut, which means we’ll get a secondary cut on Saturday afternoon.
It also means we’ll have the tee sheet back out in groups of three and off split tees, as opposed to twosomes rolling of the first tee from first thing in the morning. That’s great for TV and the attending fans because it condenses everyone into a two-hour window. Almost everyone is out on the course at the same time and while Spieth plays the front, Rory will be on the back. The weather, which has been known to disrupt this event, looks good for the day so we should have an on-time finish right around 6 p.m. ET.
Here are all your media options for the third round in Cromwell:
Saturday’s third-round coverage
Television:
1 to 2:30 p.m. ET — Golf Channel
