Saix always has and always will be my favorite character of all. I drew this for Matsuricon this past weekend when I met Kirk Thornton FINALLY and got him to autograph him, and he really loved the detail. What a dream.

Vexen medicine cat would be really funny. Zexion medicine cat apprentice is the next logical step which I think recreates the early Jaypaw Leafpool dynamic which is even funnier because Jayfeather was the first character I was ever obsessed with

also completely erases any competition for Saïx though. so. congrats Zexion you get to live

wait I just realized none of these bastards are canonically specialized for healing. the closest would be Vexen (knows how the body works) and Zexion (highest magic stat and only true caster, and cure/cura/curaga are spells)

back to Saïx, even though I think the "Luna Diviner" title is lame as fuck and doesn't represent Saïx very well, when you consider the line in kh2 where he asks Sora if he can hear the euphoria of the hearts gathered in kingdom hearts + the part of that one short story where Saïx asks Axel if he can hear the world's screams and Axel goes "what the hell are you talking about", I think he probably CAN actually hear that shit. which means he's definitely one of those cats constantly being plagued by visions of dead ancestors

that's the medicine cat's job though and generally cats who can hear that stuff from early on end up going into the medicine cat role but look at Saix he is NOT about to be a fucking medicine cat. middle manager assigning missions is basically the same as deputy assigning patrols, he's the deputy I've decided

actually... Vexen doesn't seem like a very spiritual guy... maybe it's like Mothwing and her apprentices, where he only does healing and Zexion handles all the prophecy omen StarClan stuff as well. He would be into that

I think Roxas being an apprentice to Axel sounds about right but idk about Xion... could be a situation where her mentor is Saix and he's being absolutely shitty about it but if the Chain of Memories crew is still alive in this setting I think. maybe. he should not be the one mentoring her.

Vexen can't do it though if he's the medicine cat and Xion's going to be a warrior

Xemnas is the leader. he started out as a loner and then joined the clan and either charisma'd his way to being leader or there was a violent coup, which would imply... a number of things

like they'd definitely be put in their place after a coup if there were any other clans around

why is the group so small? why are they exclusively growing the group by recruiting outsiders when warrior cats almost all hate doing that? if we start with an established group where Ansem the Wise is theoretically the leader and Xemnas takes over after they collectively beat Ansem's ass, what happened to the entire rest of the clan? also where are the women

Lauriam/Marluxia and Elrena/Larxene's deal is somewhat similar to Jay's Wing/Jayfeather, Dove's Wing/Dovewing, and Lion's Roar/Lionblaze, but instead of reincarnations they're time travelers. I don't think they get magic powers as a result because they didn't get any more special powers than the other org members in canon

I was thinking about the “Skuld is Subject X” theory the other day and noticed an interesting detail.

Saix’s title in the Organization was the Luna Diviner. A diviner is someone who looks to the future. The youngest of the three Norns and the one who represents the future is named Skuld.

Did he remember the labs? What came before as some of the others did He never made any mention of it, so it was unknown. Better to ask him directly, see if he’d be upfront or just how he’d react. Going silent, he shifts to lean more to the side, head lightly canting as he waits in silence.  』

As the time of the culmination of their efforts approached, Xemnas could be found more and more often atop one of the castle's spires, gazing up at the stars and at Kingdom Hearts, admiring the beauty and the potential as well as the occasional hearts that appeared and floated towards the unwavering light of the moon to join in its radiance.

Rarely did it happen that one of the others would choose to join him in such moments, more likely for it to be Xigbar unless someone was in need of adapted orders and guidance. Though really, Xemnas rather thought they ought to be capable enough not to require his holding their hands through whatever step of the process they were struggling to complete.

Instead Saix had joined him, something he realised from the steps echoing into the silence. Saix always had a rather notable manner of moving through a space, pointed and without waste, yet not in any sort of rush or hurry either. He was measured like most everything the Luna Diviner took upon himself, unless he gave himself over to the rage of his powers, during which he performed marvellously well and indeed decimated most anything that stood in his path. One of the most promising of his number.

Slowly did he turn away from Kingdom Hearts in silent inquiry. Neither of them were the type to particularly beat around the bush after all, and if Saix had a concern or a question, Xemnas trusted him to need no coaxing to bring it up.

Indeed, after an uncharacteristic moment's hesitation, the question was presented and a furrowed brow met the Diviner as Xemnas considered his words with the same care and attention he dedicated to anything.

Before. Such an interesting concept. He is well aware that the others have varying degrees of memory from Before, but Xemnas' has always been fragmented, muddy, as if conflicting information had presented itself and had in turn fractured beyond repair. Oft the attempt to delve deeper beyond the apparent and piece together what fragments he could identify engendered more questions than answers and indeed left him more confused than when he started. Perhaps that was why he had gradually stopped searching for the answer, even as said answer invisibly guided some of his actions.

Castle Oblivion had been the very result of one such a drive. He knew he was searching, and had a strong sense of what for, yet the reasons eluded him still.

"I do not." Came the reply at last as golden hues once more focussed on the heart-shaped moon above. It is the truth, or at least a truth. He has very little desire to attempt to explain to the Luna Diviner the complexities of his drive and his memories and the reasons he harbours for doing anything at all, for all are interconnected and impossible to consider individually.

"Why do you ask?" Once more he turned toward Saix, taking in the other's form and expression more critically than before, as though he had merely been seeing through him the first time he'd turned. His gaze was sharper now, focussed, and he wondered.

In the Kingdom Hearts franchise, Saix (voiced in Japanese by Ginpei Sato and in English by Kirk Thornton) is a major antagonist. In Organization XIII, his number is VII (07) and his title is the Luna Diviner. He uses the moon’s power to unlock his Berserker mode to become a stronger attacker. Axel and Siax joined the organization at the same time. He has semi-spiked mid-toned hair, intense gold eyes, and an X-shaped scar right in between of eyes, crossing over the nose. Saix wears the standard Organization cloak, leather gloves, black pants, and black boots. Large metallic Claymore is the weapon Saix uses which has extended form during Berserker mode. Collect all the accessories of the Saix costume from Kingdom Hearts for Halloween and cosplay.

Saix is very fond of critters. Especially friendly kitties. Turns out cats don't give a shit what you've gone through and they tend to stare blankly through the speeches of angry anti-Nobody genocidal wizards, so of course Saix liked coming across small furry friendo. Needed to draw some happy feels. So have an elf berserker hugging a pudd. ^u^

🍁 - How did your f/o and s/i meet?

i don’t have a canon meeting right now, but i can tell you that when i first made my insert when i was like 10 that they were a member of organization xiii and that’s all i fuckin remember. don’t worry you’ll probably be like the first person to know my new insert canon when i come up with it.

🧡 - What's an unpopular opinion you have about your f/o?

i don’t think i have any tbh. i don’t interact with the fandom enough nowadays to really know what people’s general consensus is about him / what’s Popular, besides what i remember of canon, which. chef’s kiss. i adore him anyways. i will eventually have unpopular opinions of him and everyone will have to deal with them.

💛 - Do you like the source material your f/o came from? (it's okay if you don't or do!)

i LOVE kingdom hearts SO MUCH but it’s fallen out of my radar for a while so i hardly ever talk about it anymore. i deeply love the series, like i LOVE IT and it means a lot to me and carries a LOT of nostalgia, but i’ve been focused on so many other things that trying to go back to it feels kind of like a chore. 

however. 

im going to go back to it sometime soon because i’ve been cycling through old special interests like a maniac
