Years ago, her cheeks would have been beet red as she approached her destination.
If she had friends among the Accepted, maybe she would have brought them along and made an excuse for this excursion, but all her companions were still novices and would be for many years still.
Despite it all, whatever would happen now, she wanted that moment to herself. She would not share it with anyone else, save the man she prayed was in those training grounds.
But now, what felt like a much more reasonable part of herself told her he wouldn't wait three years. Not just wait, but go through exactly what she went through in her training, except with many more bruises and cuts, with broken bones.
All these years away from him, she couldn't remember ever doubting him, pushing herself to her limit and beyond, making herself the perfect student to meet him as soon as it was possible.
Even if that was so, she needed to know it. See it for herself. Imagining things was a waste of time, and as a future Aes Sedai, she would not waste time. So, she quickened her pace (as much as she could, respectably), weaving a path through streets she had walked in her old life, to the barracks of the would-be Warders.
She could hear shouting, metal clashing, the thumping of bodies crashing into the ground, beyond the patched-up wooden walls, but most clearly, the blood thumping in her ears. She needed to get in there.
As if on cue, a voice startled her, "Now this is unusual," a Warder leaned by the gate, pipe in hand, and words smothered in smoke. "What's a sisterling doing here, exactly?"
Visits to the Warders weren't unusual for Accepted. None had seen men beyond a few bonded Warders in probably a decade, and many felt the absence. What better way to cure that than by looking through the list of candidates for Warders? But doing so alone was unusual - embarrassing - it would probably have meant one had no comrades among her sisters.
"An Aes Sedai has asked me to give a message to one of the trainees."
"Oh? Couldn't she come here by herself?"
"Sir, I'm sure you know this better than myself: I can't question an Aes Sedai. Much less, the... oddity of their requests."
The man laughed, shaking his head. Syla gave a sheepish smile as pride trickled through the back of her mind. Hook, line, and sinker.
"You know my wife's one of them? But sure enough, they're a mysterious folk. So, who's the brat?"
"The one she wanted me to relay the message to was Eamas Tivror."
"Oh, that's a young one. She better not be trying to bond him yet - good sport, but not done yet. Though, I'd think she'd come here by herself for that. Who's the mistress?"
Right. She really hoped Warders didn't know the name of every single Aes Sedai.
"Syla, sir. She told me he would know her."
"Syla? Yeah, he mentioned that name. Now, my heart is truly warmed that she remembered him through her training. But I'd be even more impressed if she was an Aes Sedai already," her cheeks warmed, she couldn't tell if it was because he caught up on her lie or because Eamas talked about her enough for him to be able to do so. "Not trying to minimize you being an Accepted after only three years. Congratulations."
Oh. He figured that, too. Her cheeks were flaming red now. Was she that bad?
"Now, now, kiddo. You didn't do a bad job- I wanted to believe you until you mentioned your name. Blame your friend- he was the one explaining to me why he needed to join us."
She wanted to bury herself deep into the earth. She needed to be good at this, Aes Sedai were good at this. Or at least she needed to know what battles she couldn't win to enter them humbly. No wisdom - she should've just admitted her motives, suffered the embarrassment, and spared herself this bigger one.
"I'm sorry, sir. I-"
"Oh, spare me, please. You girls are too quick to apologize - I'm not going to whip you. Once you get yourselves bonded up, you'll know how to not step on each other's toes. So, I'll call him over. Don't mind the smell."
She nodded, her neck and shoulders still stiff. Were he an Aes Sedai, he would have surely sent her to be punished for this.
"Thank you, sir."
He groaned at her address, and she wondered who his Aes Sedai was for him to be so tired of her politeness. Was it someone too strict (if so, she wept for him, she knew that kind, even as she evaded them)? Or a rebellious soul who could complain to him about the hierarchies in the Tower? Did Aes Sedai like that truly exist?
He entered the training grounds, closing the gates behind him and leaving her to her thoughts.
Eamas had talked about her. Was it just in the early days, or did he still mention her? Did he still hope for her to meet him? Did he falter when the Warders told him how long it could take her? Did he still think about her as she thought about him? As she did through sleepless nights, her endless chores, and every challenging exercise. Through the Silver arches.
She was woken from her thoughts by the gate opening, then closing behind a tall figure. As he stepped out of the shadows, with a careful gait, Syla felt the world pulled from under her feet.
There was reality, and then there was seeing him. All her senses faded away, except her vision fixed on him. There was the exhilaration of Channeling, and then there was seeing him. Her blood felt like the purest Healing, rebirthing her as it pumped furiously in her veins.
Time seemed to stop as she took his figure in.
He had grown taller, although he had already been a giant of a boy, and she could see how he had grown so much stronger too, from his wide shoulders and uncovered arms, even if when he was a baker, he would already carry sacks of flour around his shoulders. He had let his hair grow longer, curls covering his chest.
He had grown as she had. But she could still notice the remnants of baby fat on his cheeks, despite being covered by a thick beard.
As she smiled, time rushed back to her, pushing her to run to Eamas. He crashed into her, their arms wrapping themselves around the other. Syla was lifted with a twirl, able to bury her face in his shoulders for a moment, before her feet hit the ground again. Slowly, they unwrapped themselves, and even more slowly, they gathered the courage to meet each other's gaze.
"You waited for me."
"Of course, I promised," it was all Syla could do not to look surprised. His voice had dropped much lower than when they last spoke. She remembered how it would still break back then, and after 3 years of hearing that voice in her mind, it was strange to have it replaced. But she liked how he sounded, his whispered tones warmer and richer, gravel that would pull her in and never let her out.
Syla pulled herself from her thoughts as he, more quickly, continued, "I wanted to. I wanted to. And you, you barely made me wait. I mean- I thought I'd- I should have known. You're brilliant, you're so brilliant, Syla!"
Warmth filled her from head to toe, blushing her cheeks and making her feel momentarily dizzy. She had almost forgotten how good it felt to hear him compliment her. When she met him, she felt so impossibly small, but he was her sun and rain. In the Tower, her teachers humbled her to the point of viciousness despite her efforts, but here with him again, she felt safe, she felt so powerful.
"I'm only here now because of you. You gave me my strength. I couldn't leave you waiting. And - I needed to see you again."
"I've missed you, too," he smiled a sweet smile. So sweet, nothing could stop her from laying her hand on his clothed chest, hoping to steal only a small piece of whatever warmth made Eamas himself.
It was his turn to turn red, eyes fidgeting as he spoke, "I would keep my promise. But-"
Syla's blood turned cold, and without noticing, she stepped closer to him. As if he could shield her from his own words. Had he found an Aes Sedai that wanted him? Had he stayed long enough to see her, and would try an easier life now? Go back to his own home?
"But you're you," she wanted to disappear from the face of the Earth, from the Wheel itself in that moment. Yes, Syla was Syla. She was Syla. Just Syla. Just some girl who was lucky to be born in Tar Valon and probably lucky to be born at all. Her mother didn't succeed in the Tower, so how could she? How could she wait for someone to dedicate their life to hers? What could she give?
"You've become an Accepted after just three years. I'm no one. I'm no one! You need a stronger Warder than what I can give you. I'm pushing myself, but when you become an Aes Sedai, you'll need your Warder. I'll still be training."
The ice in her vein turned colder still. Her self-hatred had blinded her to his doubting himself. Too concentrated on herself to notice how he felt.
"No, no, no! Do not say that. I will never take any Warder except you. If this was by some fault of mine, but - No one, and I mean no one, could ever reach your feet in my eyes. If I'm lucky enough that you would choose me, I'd never even dream of turning down that honor."
His fidgeting stopped as he looked at her, eyes blown wide. She didn't know what to do with herself, how to communicate how much she meant what she had said. So she held on tighter to him, her other hand by his hips. Maybe if she held onto him with enough strength, he wouldn't wander into such foolish ideas again.
"Truly?"
"Truly, Eamas," he hugged her tightly and she buried her face in his chest, willing herself to concentrate only on him, his warmth, his heartbeat, his breathing. Memorize him for all the days she won't see him. "I'll take you as you are. Whatever that is, I would want no other to be my confidant, I would trust no other as I trust you. But you were always a quick learner. And I'm certain you're a formidable warrior."
He chuckled, the sound reverberating through his chest. "I have no choice but to trust you."
Syla hummed in response, "None at all."
Oh, but she already missed him. No matter how tightly they held each other, not knowing when she would have time again to visit him haunted Syla. She could exit the Tower at her leisure now, but she still had classes to plan and teach, not to mention tutoring to attend.
"You could ask to come train in the Tower," she ventured, not knowing much of the Warders' rules. "...I want to see you more."
"I'll try to ask, they'd allow me at least once in a while," Syla smiled wide at the reassurance and earned a smile back from Eamas. "And maybe we could manage a freeday at the same time, too... Go to the places we used to go."
"See how they've changed, too. I'd like that."
Eamas pulled her back into his chest, resting his chin on her head. She almost laughed at how clingy he was being, if only she didn't want it as much. Or much, much more.
As they unwrapped themselves, Syla couldn't say how long they had clung to one another. She only knew it was far from enough. If she had her way, she'd stay in his arms until the Dragon came and left, she'd find a weave to nestle herself beneath his skin.
But the frightened look on Eamas' face pulled her from her thoughts, nodding to ask what troubled him.
"Oh, oh no... Look at your robes. I'm sorry, I should have been more careful."
She looked down at her clothes, now matching his, with dirt turning white to brown. If an Aes Sedai, or even an older Accepted, saw her like this...
"And you're probably smelling of my sweat too, I'm so sorry!"
Yes, he was quite sweaty, thinking about it, but she'd rather not think too hard about just how much she didn't mind the smell of it, so she reassured him, "No, no, no. It's alright. There are weaves for cleaning. I've only practiced them in class, but I'll manage. They're very simple."
"Of course," he groaned, "oh, I'd rather you not go through whatever happens if showed up like this."
"It's not pleasant, of that, I'm sure."
It would probably, at best, involve washing all of the Aes Sedai's dirty clothing, at worst, that and a birching.
"What I hear about the Tower makes training here sound like a walk in the park..."
"A certain discipline is needed to learn to channel without danger, but... respecting the One Power is often mistaken for being the slave to the whims of older women. Who would've thought that my path would involve that again?"
"A few more years, and you'll be free. Let them try to take that from you."
"This is why I need you as my Warder, Eamas," she laughed, and he gave her his sweet smile again.
"I do need to get back in there," he sighed.
"Yes, you should probably go... I'll visit you whenever I'm free. Next time I'll know my schedule better, and we'll figure something out."
"And I'll try to get in the Tower, pass by us there when you can."
Syla nodded, biting her lip as she tried to ignore the stinging starting in her eyes. At least this time around she knew she'd see him soon, but she couldn't help but feel like she was leaving him behind, by the White Tower's gates once more.
He looked at her with a pained frown, and to her surprise, softly cupped her face, to bring his lips to her forehead. She closed her eyes as his lips remained for some seconds, burning their softness into her skin.
As Eamas pulled away, he grabbed her hand, "I'll see you soon, Syla."
Bringing her hand to his lips, they said goodbye. And as she stood there, still in a daze, she saw him vanish once more behind gates.

brief rundown on a new muse..... yes, yet another one.
name: Sylas Villin age: 26
mention of suicide, but not explicit.
It’s no secret that he isn’t entirely human. His mother had fae blood in her veins, and Sylas has shown the signs of it, himself. A voice that seems to reach into the hearts of those he speaks to, drawing out their desires and coaxing them to actions, so dangerously pleasantly they may not realize they are being compelled.
It’s said that he used magic to claim the throne... but no one can prove it. There’s whispers of him compelling the previous king, his father, to leap from the palace’s highest window, though --- as Sylas’s supporters are quick to point out --- the guards and the noblemen who were with him at the time maintain it was an accident. But, the doubt still lingers among the court. Despite this, though, they have accepted Sylas as their new ruler, however reluctantly. Though, he doesn’t act as a normal king would. He appears far more flippant on the surface about his position, not meeting it with the dignity, grace, and care of his father. This has caused rumblings --- always quickly put down, sometimes with violence --- to spread through his kingdom of his worthiness for the throne. Those around him complain that he spends more time away from the palace than in it, frolicking about and exploring, engaging in questionable activities throughout his land. Though, because he does get all expected of him --- all paperwork, meetings, etc --- done well, they don’t have much of a leg to stand on when it comes to telling him off for it.
Sylas is said to be extremely charming, and those around him can attest to his charisma and ability to quell arguments and soothe anger. Though, he has an ego. Having been raised as heir to the throne, he is used to a life of privilege, and believes his own opinions to be correct, always. And his magical gift of persuasion lets him have most anything he wants, including new land or increased armies from fellow rulers who’ve made the mistake decision to meet with him.

sylas would fall under the umbrella of pansexual. Though, when it comes to romance, it’s a little more complicated... he doesn’t tend to experience romantic feelings. Whether this is from his position as king and fear of losing that power and being usurped, or simply because he has yet to find someone he connects with in any way more than sexual, it’s hard to say.
he can be very persuasive. It doesn’t necessarily mean he can order your muse to do something and they have to do it, but it definitely puts ideas into people’s heads and makes it sound more appealing than it should. If your muse is human --- and doesn’t have any sort of magical power or other special ability --- they’ll be far more susceptible to it than a muse who isn’t human, or is magical.
i don’t have a set place or time that he’s set in, meaning he’s very flexible. For the most part, I’m going to assume he’s set in a fantasy version of the middle ages, in the equivalent of England. Will be polishing this up as time goes on, but for now, that’ll be the automatic setting / time period unless discussed / or unless i figure out something else and make a whole new kingdom for him or smth??

My partner and I have been talking about a sorta-Wheel of Time / Legend of Vox Machina AU where...
Vex is one of the newest Aes Sedai and doesn't quite buy into the institution, but she's a natural at keeping her opinions and cards close to her chest. Her Warder is her twin brother, Vax.
Meanwhile, (this part is pretty much all @mostgeckcellent) Percy de Rolo was a warder to his sister Cassandra, another relatively new Aes Sedai who was murdered by the powerful grey Aes Sedai Delilah. He saw this, and saw that Delilah and her Warder-Husband Sylas are secrelty darkfriends sowing seeds of discord in the White Tower and beyond, while enacting a plot to restore power to the Dark One, who was beaten down 3,000 years ago. Delilah's hold on the politics of the tower means that Percy is discredited and labeled a man entirely mad with grief before he even sets foot in the tower to tell of their treachery.
Vex overhears Percy's pleas and their leadership's dismissals, and keeps her mouth shut, but she doesn't trust Delilah either so she and Vax set out to help Percy so they can get to the bottom of this.
Vex, Vax, and Percy encounter Keyleth early in their journey. She is supposed to be the Wisdom for her secluded town like her mother before her, but she can't hear the wind the way she's supposed to. So, she's left town. Vex can immediately sense some sort of power in her so she suggests Keyleth can travel with them, and Vax backs her up without question so Percy agrees. She seems fairly harmless to him, but kind and well-meaning in a way that's refreshing.
Shortly after Keyleth, they meet the yellow Aes Sedai Pike and her Warder Grog. She is a healer but she is itching for adventure, so she manages to wiggle her way into their travels by selling herself as someone who can help protect them, all the while wondering if the choices that led her here were the right ones.
Finally, they pick up Scanlan, a bard who is headed the same direction as them and has a bit of an instant crush on Pike and maybe perhaps an agenda of his own, it remains to be seen.

Ultimately, I am making some changes to the magic system and legend: mainly that the powers are sort of tiered- water is something all channelers can manipulate, ground/trees/plantlife is a bit more challenging, fire is hard and dangerous to use, wind is nearly impossible. Nobody can control storms or lightning- nobody except the Prophesied Voice of the Tempest, a woman who will join the Aes Sedai and stand against the Dark One as well as the Dragon and turn the tide at the final/first battle, possibly ushering in a New Age of peace and prosperity, if she can face the challenge.

Chronicles of Exandria: The Legend of Vox Machina II
I did this for the first volume, so I bought this artbook right away just to do it again. <3 My Winter’s Crest gift to all the critters.
The art. Once again I cannot overstate the stunning artwork of the critter community. I know some fans balk at the price, but all the artists are paid to have their art in the book - and I think the big price tag is well worth artist getting some compensation for their work (do correct me if I’m wrong). I won’t be sharing any photos of of the art, but most of it is available online already.
However, I will share this photo of the print on the box the book came in:
Excerpt of the Foreward:
“The memories in this book are real. They were created with love and laughter around a table with friends, and let loose on the wind to find what ears would listen. The joys and pains of every winding turn still occupy our minds daily and if you are reading this, I suspect they live on in yours as well. We were there. We witnessed it unfold.”
Vox Machina was only able to scry on Scanlan once, as seen in the episode Jugs and Rods, but some time after Scanlan warded himself against arcane sight.
The Mantle of the Tempest is described as “eternal autumn leaves.”
Keyleth goes on to rule with wisdom and grace.
Usually the Cobalt Soul has problems researching historical figures for whom there is little written word about...... With Taryon they had the opposite problem: there was too much! lmao. And 90% of it is believed to be embellished or flat out lies.
Nicknames that Taryon gave himself and were never used by anyone ever: “The Winsome Winner of Wildemount,” “Talented Tary,” “Golden-Maned Guardian of Good,” and “The Vindicator.”
Uvenda, the gnome in Vesrah, is still alive!! She’s stepped down as leader now and is the tale-teller of Vesrah.
The Ashari call the kraken that VM fought for Keyleth’s Aremente “Ulugrah the Requisite.”
Uvenda claims that Ulugrah, upon learning that the creatures it had trounced were legendary heroes (I’m assuming they mean Vox Machina), it boasts about it’s victory against them to anyone who will listen any who come to its lair in the Plane of Water.
Tova went by different epithets including: “The Bear,” “Little Half-Ear,” “The Bloody-Handed,” and “The Skin Changer.” After surviving the Hells thanks to Vax’s ring of invisibility, she gained the name “The Unseen Death.” Little else can be verified about Tova, but none of her friends she went to with Dis survived.
Grey Hunt Lore
Lord Wolf de Rolo and Lady Melanie van Musel de Rolo were the leaders of the 4th reign of Whitestone. It was a political marriage and Melanie was particularly unhappy. She had a garden filled with flora and fauna from her home in Wildemont. The garden is now known as the Widow’s Garden and many of the plants were poisons that she used to slowly assassinate Lord Wolf with.
After being injured in the Great Whitestone Fire, he couldn’t recover because of the poison and he died leaving Melanie the ruler. She decided to redraw the lines of the city walls, pushing into the Parchwood Timberlands which didn’t go well. Construction was plagued by accidents, animal attacks, and phantoms were reported (such as of Lord Wolf) - though the construction of a Temple of the Dawnfather went unhindered.
Lady Melanie’s cousin was Ivan van Musel, a cleric, and he declared that Melanie had pissed off the Dawnfather by expanding without showing reverence. Ivan went into the forest after much mediation and was later found battered but alive atop a felled Direwolf. Ivan had a vision in which the Lawbearer agreed to the expansion no further than where Ivan had felled the Direwolf and that from here on, a citizen of Whitestone must venture into the Parchwood when called to do so and be tested.
Melanie created the title Grand Master of the Grey Hunt, the third ruling house of Whitestone, for Ivan. The third house has since forth been in change of the Grey Hunt and managing the city’s relationship with the world beyond the city walls.
Hundreds of gold in property damage during Vox Machina’s stay at Dalen’s Closet while VM “relentlessly pranked” each other.
Whitestone became a thriving metropolis during VM’s year off - in part because of Allura keeping it safe during Thordak’s reign while everywhere else was ravaged.
K’yrrn - the dark elf that kidnapped Taryon - is from Xhorhas!
Though Tary could be called a fool, a braggart, a coward... in the moment he stood against his father’s selfishness and bigotry and forgave and reconciled with him is described as being more valiant than slaying.
Lionel Gayheart had “an unusual case of amnesia.”
JB Trickfoot continued to work in Whitestone’s library and it’s thanks to many of her notes that the Cobalt Soul has as much as they do on Vox Machina.
“Uh, yes, the very first thing I remember about meeting Vox Machina was when the red-haired lady jumped off a mountain. It was grisly. But what I’ll remember forever is what happened afterward. The coin that Lady Vex’ahlia used, the glow of light, the power. It brought her back to life. They really were like gods.”
Taryon’s autobiography’s dedication: “This book is dedicated to Lawrence. But it is for my family.”
Taryon thinks his father was actually proud of Tary’s Darrington Brigade.
Tary never liked his father, but after returning home Tary began to love him.
Mariya, Tary’s mom, was part of the Brigade and took care of the injured warriors.
Maryanne, Tary’s sister, became the driving force behind the Darrington Fund charity and even gave up her home for those less fortunate than herself. When she called Tary “brother” it was no longer an insult.
Tary is most proud that his mother finally has a united family, one to be proud of.
Kaylie Shorthalt talks a bit about Lionel - says he was a goofy son of a bitch. He kept talking to her about ducks though. He once tried to show her his house, but he just took her to an oasis in the middle of desert that was full of ducks.
The Cobalt Soul doesn’t like to spread rumors but they do have theories of Lionel’s Marquesian mallard heritage.
Aes Adan, aka the Meat Man, rise to power coincided with the disappearance of several low to mid level criminals.
A scholar once went to visit Scanlan to interview him to see if the rumors were true that Scanlan had been the Meat Man. The Scribe returned, unable to remember anything from his visit. In his notebook were only crude drawings of ducks. Scanlan still using that Modify Memory...
The fucking Cobalt Soul knows that Scanlan sacrificed the 9th level spell he was saving for Vax to stop Vecna from leaving. It’s history folks.
For the folks out there who love the Briarwoods’ love for each other, some of an excerpt of Delilah’s journal: “No matter the cost, my love, I will do it. I care not how many must die, or how grave the sins must be that I commit. I broke the world once for you, Sylas. I shall do it again, and again, and again, for you. For us. Forever.”
Vecna envied the Raven Queen, as her followers did so not just because they feared her, but because they loved and respected her too.
Vecna threatened the assembled protectors of Vasselheim, saying that it would be the perfect place for ambush, but that’s no fun when there are many less-protected loved ones. People he threatened include Earthbreaker Groon’s daughter (Desir), Vord’s family, J’mon’s concubines, all of Whitestone and particularly Cassandra. And Young Velora Vessar, “playing alone in her room.”

Percy’s magnum opus is the Clock Tower of Whitestone - a national treasure of Tal’Dorei.
Vex continued to rule as Baroness for a time after Percy’s passing. Vex saw her bother’s spirit after the birth of her first child. She reconciled somewhat with her father and showered Velora with love and blessings.
Kaylie went to school at the Alabaster Lyceum in Emon on Scanlan’s dime.
Pike and Scanlan had a lengthy courtship.
Tary’s book The Daring Trials and Tribulations of Ser Taryon Darrington contained an accurate account of his time with Vox Machina, even if nothing else is accurate.
Grog helped Earthbreaker Groon restore the Temple to the Stormlord while staying Vasselheim, defending his title in the Crucible.
The final, actual words of the book that aren’t a dedication or part of an image: “And as the story is told: ‘Everyday that raven comes to visit.’” ;’(
There is a stunning four page fold-out page of Percy’s clock tower. I cannot emphasize enough how lovely it is. The end of it dedicates it to Vex and is quoted with, “I couldn’t have asked for a better dream.”
On the other side of the fold-out are some... sketches of Percy’s notes? It seems that Diplomacy is now powered up by Cabal’s Ruin.
As part of “Cobalt Souls” thank you page: “Within a book, a story can only sleep. It requires a reader to give it life.”

Syla was a Novice for 3 years, unable to get out of the White Tower or contact Eamas who was training with the Warders.
And 3 years is longer than they've known each other but they still trusted the other to wait for them.
When Syla becomes an Accepted, at the first opportunity, she goes meet Eamas, and they both have changed so much while away, but they still leap at each other for a hug.
They meet each other again, whenever they have time, sometimes managing to squeeze a visit to the city.
When Syla passes the Warders' training grounds with her other Accepted friends, she trades long looks with Eamas, and they're both left with a smile that lasts the whole day.
After Syla becomes an Aes Sedai, it's a torture waiting for her Grey sisters to teach her the bonding weave. But when she learns it, at the first opportunity, she almost runs to Eamas, bringing him somewhere private to channel the weave.

Before Bonding, Syla explained Eamas everything she knew about the Aes Sedai/ Warder bond, including how an Aes Sedai could influence their Warder with it.
So she made Eamas promise he'd ask her once a month (originally she wanted once a week but they negotiated) if she had ever done it. Since Syla can't lie, it's pretty foul proof.

Not me making an Aes Sedai and her Warder.
I'm normal about soulmates :-)
The Aes Sedai's name is Syla she's a Grey Ajah, the Warder's name is Eamas.
They're both from Tar Valon, and befriended each other before Syla went to the Tower.
Syla was hiding her channeling (not exactly of her own free will), but Eamas was the one to encourage her to go to the White Tower.
Syla sometimes worries about their connection, and how it might remove Eamas' free will.
When in court, they wear matching clothing (and jewelry), since Syla is adamant about the world seeing them as a team.
Syla genuinely wanted to be a Grey Ajah, but before making up her mind she already wanted to take up a color that would keep Eamas (and her) away from the battlefield.
Because of their bond, and of how much time they spend together, their facial expressions became uncannily similar.
Eamas teases Syla by calling her a "silver" Ajah.
They fell in love before being connected, even before entering the Tower, but only revealed their feelings afterwards.
