it's a habitual response now... whenever he sees dom sitting, aether physically can't stop himself from getting up to sit on his lap. it's where he finds himself now, perched happily on dom's thighs. "i'm tired of studying, let's go do something!"

he hears the rustling of their blankets and before he can even tilt his head back to look at ghost, his chair is spinning to face his boyfriend. a small pout still rests on his lips, but it disappears quickly as the taller lifts him up and out of his seat. the student lets out a small squeak, fingers gripping at solid shoulders as he's plopped down into a familiar lap. he half heartedly glares down at ghost underneath him, leaning over the taller so that their face to face.

"i wouldn't have to be if you'd taken the hint," he mumbles, leaning in to bite at the other male's bottom lip, almost in retaliation. still, he settles rather quickly, shimmying down so that he can lay on top of ghost, head resting on a familiar chest.

𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐁𝐎𝐘𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐃. he'd fully expected the other to relent, get up and join him on the bed. but when he doesn't a frown settles on pale features. aether is known for being a brat and normally, ghost didn't give into his tantrums. and ghost is more than okay with letting the blonde sit and seethe for a bit. instantly giving in is never fun. but after about a half hour long legs swing over the bed and within a few seconds he's standing behind aether. turning his chair he scoops the other up in his arms before taking him back to bed.

now laying down, aether's weight on his lap he feels far more content than before. pale fingers flick at aether's nose. ❛ you're a brat. ❜ eyes close when his head hits the pillow, simply enjoying this moment. his brain never stopped but when aether was so close like this his mind could finally relax, even if just for a moment.

aether tore his gaze away from the cute dark haired boy he'd been staring at, blinking a couple of times to look back at his sister, "uh..." he said intelligently, "you were going to tell me about how you finally said yes to childe asking you out?" he replies, his tone lifting into a question. in truth, he'd only been half listening to what she'd been saying. by the look on her face he guessed that his reply was incorrect, "you're going to that party on the weekend?" he tried again.

aether frowns at the knock to the door, sliding from his beanbag, placing his pen down, and stepping away from the piles of papers and books scattered. he opens the door slightly, eyebrow raising as he sees the ajax on the other side. "oh... um, if you're looking for lulu, she's not here right now."

Ajax knocked on Aether's door, calc notes in hand. After his text, it felt as good an excuse as any to see him again. Maybe he was wrong, but it almost felt like Aether had been avoiding him? And he couldn't put his finger on why...

he watches her for a long moment before snorting quietly, leaning over to poke her in her puffy cheeks, "if you continue to make that expression, your face is going to get stuck like that," he says with a grin, fingers moving to squish her face. "why are you looking at me like that? i told you, i put your shorts in the washer already. i didn't even get one stain on them." he was proud of himself for that one, too. still, it was mostly a joke, aether doing what he could to make her laugh.

aether can't help the small snort as he pulls his crop top back on, humming to himself as he glances at childe, the man still laying in his bed. his hair is tousled just enough that it almost tempts aether to climb back into the covers with him. still, he has a class to get to and the mafia boss has a meeting an hour. "when you get serious about me," he says with a snort, pulling on his shorts and reaching for his jacket next. "i can tell i'm just a pretty little play thing to pass your fancy at the moment."

the blond walks forward, pressing his hands down onto the bed and bending over so that he can lean in. his mouth catches the corner of childe's mouth and he smiles, near devious. "until then... i have a class and you have a meeting to get ready for."

aether can't help the following laughter as he pulls away to avoid any flying limbs that might be coming his way from her direction. he grins and takes a few steps backwards, "oh, really? yeah, i suppose he does look a little bit familiar," the older teases. "so what's all this about how you're dating him, hm?" of course they were just rumors, he knew that his sister wouldn't actually be in a relationship without telling him. at least, not if she valued her life.

Aether was such a little shit. He knew who Ajax was. He was one of the more popular guys on campus. A bit of trickster, a bit of a fighter, a flirt. But he seemed to like her. And of course she liked him. She knew that this all could have been a bet from some of Ajax's friends. To get her pants. He did have that reputation for breaking hearts. But it was hard not to like him. He was funny too. Not to mention smart. And she could kick his ass in martial arts as well as in swordsmanship. So perhaps it wasn't just a bet on his side either. "Aether!" she groaned, her cheeks going red as hell. "You know who he is. Ajax aka Childe. Pretty infamous around campus. Mostly for the women. And from the rumors, some men."

he crosses his arms over his chest, an eyebrow raising, an unimpressed look crossing his face as he stares down the ginger. "uh huuuh...," he replies, his answer slow and drawn out. "you know, that's real cute and all, but i'm pretty sure i heard you trying to use this same line on my twin just last week." aether raises an eyebrow, tilting his head just so that gives he impression he's really not buying what the taller is selling.

aether hadn't been paying attention to where he was going, walking with leisure from his class to the library to study. he had nothing but free time for the next few hours, earbuds in as he listened to music and walked down a busy hallway. he would blame being focused on where he was going for being why he didn't realize he was being followed, a quiet squeak escaping as he was suddenly dragged into an empty closet. honey hues widened in panic before the familiar scent of his lover filled his senses, his shoulders loosening up as he looked up into dom's smug features.

"you scared me half to death," he whispers, pouting a bit as he wrapped his arms around dom's waist. the student grumbled under his breath as the taller leaned down to press a quick kiss to his mouth. "mm..."

THE MANY MEANINGS OF “HEY.”: A PROMPT LIST. [ LAUGH ]: having found the receiver to be decidedly unhappy, the sender lightly catches their attention before doing something to make them laugh, or at the very least, grin.

aether was annoyed. another test failed and this one was ten percent of his overall grade. the college student grumbled to himself, his hoodie pulled over his head as he stared glumly at the giant 'd' written across his test paper. they were in the school's library, quiet murmurs and gentle footsteps as the ambient noise surrounding them. he could see movement on the other side of the table, honey hues glancing up to catch sight of his twin making faces at him. aether snorts softly, shaking his head as he lifts a hand to flip her off. it's not much... and it doesn't change his grade, but it lifts his mood just a little bit. with a sigh, he presses the test papers into his binder and stands up.

"come on," he says, "let's go get some ice cream."

aether looks at his sister, glancing at her face and then down to the melted puddle of goo on her plate. "why didn't you eat it immediately after taking it out of the fridge?" he asks, shaking his head as he goes to grab the plate, intent on throwing it away. "you know that it melts over time..." his voice trails off as he makes a face, slightly tilting the plate to see the melted ice cream move around.
