β†’ 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬𝐀 β€” reasons to carry someone  ❝ [ URGENCY ]: sender carries the receiver away from danger after the receiver is revealed to be unable to move, either due to panic or injury. + reverse ❞ from @swevene ( hildr )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
an arrow whizzed by his right ear, and the king couldn't help but flinch. the tree they'd elected to take cover behind wasn't large enough to shield them from all angles, but for the moment, it protected them from the one that mattered.
he turned his attention to the princess beside him and grimaced at the unfortunate situation they found themselves in. the ambush had been swift and so unexpected the hildr injured herself as they scrambled to find safety. "their numbers are few," phillip reassured her confidently, he'd begun counting their shots ever since taking shelter. "the camp is just beyond the treeline," he pointed.
"pardon me, your highness," phillip said gruffly as he lifted the princess off her feet and began to charge through the thick forest. the path he chose to run was chaotic as if there was no rhyme or reason to the zig-zag pattern. it was enough to confuse the archers, the arrows only ever coming as close as a tree beside them as they passed.
she was like a feather in his arms and the adrenaline coursing through his veins ensured his strength would not fail him. the pair broke through the trees and into the clearing where they'd made camp, the small battalion they traveled with was suddenly alert, and ready to face an unknown threat.

β†’ 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬𝐀 β€” spy & assassin starters  ❝ it's just a scratch ... i'll be fine. ❞ from @wispfated
Tumblr media
"scatch or no, you could still lose an arm from it," he said almost too harshly, but phillip had always taken injuries more seriously than many tended to. "here," he said as he pulled a bottle of strong clear spirits from samson's saddlebag and some clean rags. the king first poured some onto one of the rags before taking a long swig and handing it off to her. he didn't dare insult her by warning her how it might sting like he would have done other ladies of her rank, instead he merely gave her a brief warning of 'here it goes' before he applied the rag to the afflicted area.
he let the soaked piece of cloth fall to the ground and carefully wrapped the princess' arm with the remaining rag he'd held. "it is no great work, but it should hold until a proper physician can tend to it." he said with a smile.
"you must be mindful of the magic that is rife within these lands," he warned her. "danger is everywhere, perhaps even coated on the end of your enemy's blade." thankfully, phillip himself had never crossed paths with such a fiendish swordsman before, but he'd heard the tales. the greatest of warriors felled by nothing but a mere scratch.

β†’ 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬𝐀 β€” shining armor prompts  ❝ β€œ were you preoccupied, or did you just really want a dramatic heroic entrance before you saved my ass? " ❞ from @bornofthedawn

phillip ran up the crumbling stone steps of the castle, but every step forward caused a radiating pain he felt deep within his weary bones. the dust-filled air heaved in and out of his lungs as he struggled to find breath, but it was the sight of an all too familiar head of golden locks that gave him the strength to carry on. to finish what they'd started. he could hear the near-deafening screeches of the dragon that had been ravaging his lands but he'd lost sight of it some time ago.
the prince chuckled softly as he closed the gap between them, "could it not be both?" he teased softly, as he pulled the princess into his arms tightly, his lips crashing down on hers without a second thought. he'd never have knowingly left her somewhere she might have been at risk, but the mere possibility of something happening shook him to the core all the same. it was a battlefield now after all.
"samson is waiting," he informed her, taking her hand in his own to lead her safely down the destroyed entrance of the place he used to call home. his gaze lifted to the sky once more, instinctively searching for the threat. "just within the treeline." he pointed across the once magnificent courtyard. "i was worried the beast might attack if he was left out in the open," phillip explained, unable to refrain himself from expressing his fear and concern to her. if not her, then who could he tell?
