Chuuya would be so nice to cuddle with, I know I’d feel protected in his arms like I wouldn’t with anyone else. And he probably smells like a calming cologne that has a splash of lavender and jasmine in it but is still masculine, alcohol from the last time he drank, something musky, well taken care of leather, and a hint of cigar(ette) smoke. It would be so soothing I’d fall asleep immediately as his hands and arms kept me held close to him.

My Opinion On Every Single Bungou Stray Dogs Ship

Part Six- Yaoi Ships I

I’m expecting this section to be this longest considering how many m/m ships and possibilities there are. Also, if you’ve been following me for awhile (unlikely) you might have seen the post where I say I don’t care for/ship m/m ships because, generally speaking, male characters have to have a woman involved with them/very important to them in some way (doesn’t have to be romantic) to make me care about them, which bleeds into my shipping preferences. So I will also be giving my opinion on these ships if one and if both of them were women so you know if I truly don’t care about the ship or if it’s just because of my prejudice against male characters whose story doesn’t revolve around a woman.

Akuhara/ Ryuunosuke Akutagawa x Michizou Tachihara: Lmao. I don’t know why I find this a little funny. Do they only ever interact in WAN? Ive only seen a few episodes and I haven’t read any chapters (and I still don’t know how I feel about the chapters being canon 😖) That’s a shame, there’s so many characters we need to see more interactions of. Ugh! I don’t really care about this though, as a romantic pairing. I’d say the same if they were both girls, but I’d probably be more interested in Tachihara’s character if he were a girl. If Akutagawa was a woman and Tachihara still a man I wouldn’t ship; if it was the other way around, I still wouldn’t ship. (But the former sounds better than the latter). And if they were both girls, I’d say the same. 2/10

Akuran/ Ryuunosuke Akutagawa x Ranpo Edogawa: Have they ever interacted? Oh well, I don’t understand the shippers’ minds and what made them think of these two together. I say the same if they’re both girls (and if you’ve been following me you know I say Ranpo should have been a girl!) or if one or the other was a girl. 1.5/10

Albadoc/ Albatross x Doc: Just ship your OCs at this point. 0/10

Atsugab/ Atsushi Nakajima x Jules Gabriel Verne: I’m not one for enemies to lovers. -1/10

Atsusham/ Atsushi Nakajima x Bram Stoker: why is it called “ham” if his name is “Bram”? Anyways, this is one of those random ships I mentioned earlier. It’s making me giggle for some reason. I don’t ship it, it’s kinda dumb, I’d say the same if they were both women. And if either was a woman. 0.5/10

Atsuji/ Atsushi Nakajima x Kenji Miyazawa: Personally I want to see them interact more, they were great when they had a mission with just the two of them. But I don’t see it as a future ship. If both were girls I would want them to develop a big sister/little sister relationship 😭🩷 If Kenji was the girl, a big brother/little sister relationship. If Atsushi was the girl, I wouldn’t want them to have a big sister/little brother relationship, but I wouldn’t ship it either. 2/10

Atsuranpo/ Atsushi Nakajima x Ranpo Edogawa: Like the above ship, since they have a good platonic relationship in canon, I can see the appeal. But ultimately I don’t ship it. I’d say the same for all iterations of the characters. 1.5/10

Blazai/ Blaise Zabini x Osamu Dazai: Who tf is Blaise Zabini 😭💀 The name sounds familiar. Let me look it up. WHY ARE Y’ALL SHIPPING DAZAI WITH A HOGWARTS STUDENT 💀💀 I’m done. Half a point for creativity (and ten points to Slytherin) 0.5/10

Blonde Fukuchi/ Unnamed Blonde Guy x Ochi Fukuchi: ??? Do I wanna ask? 0/10

I haven’t read any chapters since the June one and I don’t plan on it until the January chapter is out, but I did see a sort of spoiler and so I’m gonna talk about my theory now which really might be true.

The post I saw said that Atsushi was called a bookmark. Okay, so I’m assuming that’s in reference to the Book that a few people have been searching for. We already knew that Atsushi was somehow related to the Book and that he was needed in some way to find it. But now we know he’s a bookmark (remember I don’t know the full context because I didn’t read the chapter yet) and that changes things a little. A bookmark doesn’t help you find a lost book. A bookmark helps you find where you are within a book. You get it? You have to already have the book for a bookmark placed in it to be of any use.

The Book isn’t just a literal book (we know in some way it has to be physical since there was a Page from it) but also symbolizes something greater. My bet is it’s their known universe. Because it has to be something that Atsushi has been placed in otherwise he’s not a bookmark.

We already know that one can use the Book to enter/create the mulitverse/another universe. But what if it can do that because it also (partially since it still is a physical book) becomes the universe? And that’s how writing in a physical page will actually shape reality? It’s also why, on a meta level, the reason all ability users are named after writers from our world and their abilities are the titles of their works? And the Book is more powerful than an ability (something that exists in their world but not ours) because the Book is from our world?

Even before I read the manga and was an anime only and I saw others talk about their theories about the Book and what was going on, I had this thought that the Book was somehow the link/explanation as to why all the characters are inspired by writers from our world and the characters in their stories. And that it’s sort of like they’re in the Matrix. Not that the explanation will be that in our world the real life writers are somehow attached to the Book and they’re unknowingly trapped in the BSD universe; I’m thinking more along the line of fourth wall breaking, the Book is the pages of the manga and light novels that Asagiri writes on and transfers what we know from our world (the novels and poems and their characters along with certain aspects of the writers) into characters in BSD.

I think this theory could work even more now that we know Atsushi is a bookmark in the Book. We know he’s the main character, and main characters are what moves the plot of their story, of their universe around or what is affected most by their plot if they’re a more passive character. But the story doesn’t exist without the MC, that much is known by every writer/reader. And inside his universe, inside BSD, he’s working as the placeholder (bookmark) to find out where one is in the story, which is the BSD universe which is the non physical part of the Book (and that would somehow lead to the physical form but I wouldn’t know how Fyodor would find that).

I also find this theory to be plausible because it would explain why, in a story where the vast majority of the characters we learn about are ability users named after and inspired by real life writers and their works, the main villain wants to rid the world of ability users— of people who are “from” our world. It adds an extra level of villainy because he’s trying to get rid of the very reason why his universe, the story of BSD, exists. The entire premise is about characters based on people and characters from our world having superpowers. Without that, it looses its appeal.

Even though most fans who say “there is a cycle of abuse in BSD. Mori -> Dazai -> Akutagawa -> Kyouka” tend to oversimplify things and struggle with the true depths of characters and organizations and how good people can do bad things and bad people can do good things and people who straddle both lines (all things covered in BSD), I’d rather deal with them than the people who try to say one of the three people mentioned above never abused the person in the cycle below them but did them good, but all the other members involved did abuse someone else/were abused. Bc they like that character and will bend reality to suit their tastes.

Popular fandom opinion is wrong! Chuuya does not want kids! But if you were to get pregnant he’d be shocked, worried, and eventually at peace with it! Then as the pregnancy continues he’d realize this was actually something he needed. And he’d be completely devoted to you and baby ❤️
