　　tingyun held up her messy ponytail up high enough so he could get a view of her neck, humming a little. he'd likely have to help her take it off before he left and she went to bed, but she didn't mind that.

　　' you haven't asked who got it for me yet, general. curious? ' he probably knew the truth, but she couldn't help but tease him a little.

　　tingyun's ears perked up at that, glancing around at his place. it was a lot neater than she'd expected from him, but then again, general work probably kept him away from home more often than not. and she certainly needed some rest after the day she'd had. she was a businesswoman at heart and being attacked by the marastruck warriors while going about her day had left her a little shaken, even if most of her injuries were light.

　　' i should really go home... ' she murmured, playing coy. ' ...do you have a bathtub? '

' i'm glad you could come out with me. these bags would be so heavy if it was just me! ' a pleased smile crossed the foxian's lips as she walked down the line of shops, holding only a small bag in her own hands while the other purchases weighed the other down. she had been working hard lately and it seemed only fair that she treat herself to a shopping spree. and while she was often picky with her purchases, they could still add up rather quickly.

' oh, it doesn't matter what your house looks like. if we sold tickets, i promise you, we'd have the whole alliance lined up down the block. ' she was not ignorant of his reputation. in fact, she was somewhat responsible for it with her business selling pictures of him to his adoring fans. if only they knew what he was truly like.

' if you ever need help with redecorating, i happen to have an eye for quality furniture. ' and with the budget he had? she'd be like a kid in a candy store.

"Possibly. It might be something worth considering, though I'm sure Yanqing might get more enjoyment out of it then I would." Which he supposed was hardly the worst thing, though he no doubt would end up dreading cleaning up afterwards with his young student.

Still the didn't stop him from chuckling at her way of expressing the turn of events. "I'd hardly consider it something to be considered lucky, I'm hardly a genius when it comes to how to decorate a home after all, but I do appreciate the sentiment."

　 　a soft chuckle left the foxian's lips as she glanced up from her paperwork that needed to be filled out before she turned in for the night. most would find it boring, but she found it to be a fitting end to any day before she went home.

　 　' you're very insightful, general. i was thinking just the same thing. ' and if it was his treat then she truly couldn't resist. ' give me a moment to put all this away. '

' while the general was most well known, at least to her, for his ability to get out of almost any task, where he was lazy he could also be quite quiet too, which was how he'd been able to watch her carefully polish her wares. her tail practically stood on end when she finally did notice him, pulling away.

" calling upon the foxian , the general decided to make his way over to her , a gentle nod given as a greeting. he had been out looking for his apprentice , a task he had come to deem simpler than what it had proven to be as yanqing's skils in regards to stealth had improved faster than he had anticipated. with the young one hidden somewhere in the area, jing yuan took it upon himself to cause impatience in the apprentice, therefore striking up a conversation with the foxian. " it is a rare occasion to be able to hold a conversation with you under the sunlit streets of the xianzhou, how are you faring? " jing yuan asked, offering the woman a gentle smile. the longer he managed to hold a conversation with her, the better as it would drive his apprentice out of hiding and cause a reckless move. " if you aren't occupied, perhaps you would even join me for tea ? "

　　as much as she enjoyed her own job, inventory was always a bit of a boring task. how many times could she count the same merchandise before she started to lose it a little? the sight of the general calling out to her was a welcome, if not curious sight.

　　' in need of a break, i'll say that much. hello general. ' she set aside the charms she'd been counting, tucking them back in the box she'd pulled them from. she raised an eyebrow as she glanced around. ' i don't usually see you down here... should i be curious? '

　　one eyebrow delicately raised, followed with a twitch of her ears. ' ... and how would i find one of those? '

"One would think the answer to this problem would be trying to alleviate the stress that causes you to feel as if you need a 'treat' every day." A pause. "Or find a romantic partner to pay for it."

　　' ah... i've been looking forward to this tea all day. ' she practically threw herself into the seat across from him, stretching out her heels. running her business wasn't exactly exhausting, but she still needed a nice refresher. ' ...and don't you look well-rested. '

' the foxian turned up her nose ( at least the best she could given the stranger was so tall. he reminded her of another infuriating man she happened to make some of her livelihood off of. ) at him, looking over his strange attire.

' i'm not sure you'll have luck using your usual tactics here. ' her tail swished as she rested her finger on her lips. ' long life species are a little more suspicious of... charlatans. yes, that's the word. '

　　the first few incidents could have been written off as bad luck. getting stuck with greeting visitors who were always running off to the next place had been annoying but it was part of her job and she'd accepted it, even though she didn't much want to. but this-- spotting a wanted outlaw on her way back to her home in the less frequented alleys-- that had to be the universe conspiring against her.

　　' i didn't see anything! i'm just going home. ' hands held over her eyes, she tried her best to make as much distance as she could, or at least a sword's length. somehow this was all jing yuan's fault and she would let him know that next time she saw him.

' the sooner she had her tea, the better. she flapped her fan impatiently, looking for a waitress to flag down and bring the pot her way. ' i need to recollect myself before i say anything. '

　　she forced herself not to let her expression completely sour, but it was hard not to, knowing how long of a day she'd had that was most certainly not fun. still, even though she managed to control her face, she couldn't help the lashing of her tail in annoyance.

　　' my idea of fun is relaxing at home with a hot bath and a bottle of something fancy. not running around all day on a wild goose chase. ' she didn't need to remind him why she'd been stuck running around when he hadn't helped in the slightest.

　　a huff of annoyance left her lips, even as he pulled her closer and forced her to crane her neck back to look at him properly. he would know full well how busy her day had been, because it was his orders that had made it so busy. if she had her way, she would be having a nice profitable day at her stand instead, but that would be too easy, wouldn't it?

　　' i wouldn't need taking care of if you weren't giving me orders that sent me all over the place. ' she made a face, flashing her particularly sharp teeth at him to show just what she was thinking as she glared down his face and his neck. ' don't you have plenty of other people to run your errands for you? '
