@reignofolympus asked: “I’m so proud of you, you know that?” for thalia?

When Thalia had run away from home, she knew that she was going to be on her own.  She wouldn't be able to rely on her mother (not that she REALLY had anyway), and her father likely wouldn't be able to interfere on her behalf, lest he be accused of favoritism.  Thalia had known all of this...., and running away had still been the preferable option to staying with her mother after.....but she couldn't afford to think about that now.
She'd been on her own for a while before she'd met Luke, and then two demigods had been better than one.  Of course, they'd also attracted more monsters when they were together, but by that point, Thalia had become pretty used to dealing with whatever came her way.  She was a child of Zeus, after all, and monsters sought her out the way connoisseurs sought out prized beef.
After Annabeth had joined them, they had been a very strange little family, but they made it work.  She hadn't given a second thought to giving her life to defend her friends, to keep the monsters at bay long enough for them to reach the safety of Camp Half-Blood.
It was at that point that her father had stepped in, turning her into a pine tree on top of the hill, to commemorate her sacrifice.  And there she had remained until not too long ago, when the Golden Fleece had been placed in her branches, to help heal her tree and strengthen the magical barrier that the pine had represented.  It had done all that and more, and Thalia found herself in the land of the living once again, trying to pick up the pieces of a life she hadn't expected to have.
She'd done everything she could to be the child she thought would make her father proud.  Thalia had taken up the quest with Percy Jackson, she'd tried to lead at Camp Half-Blood, and despite the fact that her presence meant that SHE could be the child of the prophecy, she was determined to make sure Kronos would not rise again.
For a time, she thought that that had meant joining the Hunters of Artemis, to ensure that she wouldn't reach her sixteenth birthday, but the longer she spent with Percy Jackson, the more convinced she became that he would be the child that was mentioned.  Which meant that she had to help make sure that he made it to his sixteenth birthday.
Thalia had been doubting this decision a little bit recently, fretting and wondering if she SHOULD have joined the Hunters after all.  She had never expected Zeus to just drop by, despite the fact that she'd been praying fervently for the past....well, she honestly didn't know how long.  And to hear that her father was PROUD of her.....; it was almost too much.
She offered the king of the gods a small smile, and it was all she could do not to run over to them, to throw her arms around them, and to ask for comfort like the child she still technically was.
"Thank you, Father," she murmured, her blue eyes lifting to meet theirs.  "You don't think I made the wrong decision?"  Okay, so maybe she needed a little bit of validation for her choice, anyway.  And who better to ask than her father?

@stygicniron asked: “I just froze up. I don’t know what happened. If you hadn’t been there –” ( @ thalia )
"But I WAS there," Thalia replied, sheathing her sword to help Nico to his feet.  "I'm just glad you're okay."  Her blue eyes looked over him quickly, to make sure that he really WAS all right.  He SEEMED to be in one piece, at least, though with Nico, it could sometimes be hard to tell.
She took another moment to check their surroundings, and when she was satisfied that the threat was gone, returned Aegis to bracelet form.
"What are you doing out here at this time of night anyway?" Thalia asked.  "That big cabin of yours too lonely all by yourself?"  Because if THAT was the case, well...., that was definitely something she understood.
Thalia had been back at Camp Half-Blood for a little while, considering everything that was going on.  The more she stayed here the more she realized that of all the campers, only Nico and Percy would really be able to understand what it was like to be children of the Big Three.  Keeping things separated by cabin made it kind of lonely, sometimes.  Which was why she'd decided to go for a walk in the woods, despite knowing full well the dangers.
