✦ ↬ closed starter ft @theirdiaries ( hope mikaelson & rebekah mikaelson )
hope had been in this place for too long. it wasn't limbo, no matter how much she would have rather it been. at first, she almost thought it could have been limbo, but the look was off and no one she knew was here -- which should have been her first indication. but, finally she saw someone who she recognized and let out a breath of relief as she made her way toward her, "aunt beks. you will not believe what i have to tell you."

"oh, how is it possible?" hope replied with a slight shrug of her shoulders. should she really explain her entire lineage to rebekah when rebekah seemed to not remember any of this while she was standing in front of her. or maybe it could help her understand and jog whatever memory was missing. she shrugged her shoulders. "do i really need to explain the, uh, birds and the bees or whatever it is they call it to you?" the tribrid asked. "i thought me calling you aunt was pretty obvious, but maybe i could draw you a clearer picture."
⊹ — “ i ‘suppose that makes sense, ” though as rebekah spoke, her eyes couldn’t leave the other's direction, feeling some sort of tether to the girl. it was stranger, so, yes — there was, in fact, waves of confusion colliding within her thoughts. “ hope mikaelson, hm, ” she repeated, as arms crossed against her front, desperately trying to place the girl. “ how can that be ? ” being an aunt was an impossible feat. they could not produce offspring, so it was out of the question to have a distant relative. was it just an odd coincidence ? the questions soon began to annoy the original. “ you know me. how ? ”

she quickly froze at rebekah's comment, biting her cheek and looking at the woman. no. that certainly was rebekah mikaelson standing before her. but why did her aunt not know who she was? "well, because it gets tiring just referring to my aunts and uncles as hey you over there." she shook her head with a sigh and looked at the other. "sorry, you just look a lot like my aunt. i guess you're...not though." she replied, deflating as she looked at rebekah. "i'm hope mikaelson, sorry for the confusion."
out and about, rebekah really wanted to be alone. the night before had been a bit of a rager, the bar being her close friend. and, recently? her only friend, other than her human bloodbags. things were odd lately, as if the town just felt unlike home and she didn't understand it. the sudden stop in her tracks was enough to cause a roll of her eyes, though it seemed like the younger girl knew her. the town was becoming strange. "aunt beks? that's horrible. why would you call anyone that?"
