Alexis,, commonly called Lexi by her friends and family, lived a relatively good and healthy life. From the time she was six years old she knew she wanted to be a nurse. Going around during dinner parties with her little toy nurse kit taking everyones pulse and asking them how they felt…giving everyone a laugh while whispering about how good of a nurse she would be. Lexi is a people person, always happy to serve, help out, have new experiences as well as offer a smile and her time to make others feel better. She’s a smart girl, very goal driven, and not easily influenced. She spent most nights studying and fighting for her dreams, graduating at the head of her class in 2012 and getting into LSU for nursing, passing that with flying colors. Alexis chose the ICU because while she still wanted to be where the action was, she felt as though the ER unit was a little too chaotic for her liking. Besides, it was in the ICU that she met her late husband Kristoff Nilson. Not only was he a mentor, and her best friend, he gave her the opportunity to be a mother. Or so she thought. Unfortunately their daughter didn’t make it past five months, and this took a toll on both of them. The sweet, intelligent man she knew was no longer warm, thoughtful and welcoming. He now held their child’s death over her head, and his anger only amplified when Alexis made clear that she was not okay with trying for another.

Traumatized by the experience she went through. Maybe someday she’d try again, but not any time soon. Kristoff turned to drinking and Lexi turned to her job as a refuge as he got more and more belligerent. Losing his job, and license when he caused a severe injury to one of his patients by coming into work drunk. It was now on Alexis to bring in the bread. Bitter and a cruel alcoholic, it was the one night that he threatened her life that she snapped and ended his. So many thoughts going through her mind as she looked down at his lifeless body. Relief, self hatred, hatred in general, sadness, grief… relief once again…. After a long court ordeal, it was determined self defense and she was free to continue her life, but Alexis found herself fascinated with the subject of death, even going as far to train to become a hospice nurse. The experiences she’s encountered from her change in department she would take with her for the rest of her life no matter where she would go. It had been two years since her husband died and when she saw an opportunity for a transfer, to leave this place behind and start anew… rebuild… she took it. The relocation took her to the cozy town of Crescent Harbor, Washington, maybe it was across the country, but she had never felt more at home. Buying a beautiful apartment downtown, high ceilings,, decorated in soft white fabrics, touches of color that made her feel warm. What really sold her on the apartment was the chef’s kitchen, little bike path for walks, and of course how close she lived to Crescent General hospital where she would work as a hospice nurse. However.

Lexi, being an extrovert, couldn’t wait to make friends. She joined the gym, would attend art classes, and looked out for town events to expand her friend group. The vibrant red head even went as far to get a dog to take on walks to meet others as she took Butters, her puppy on a walk. So far it hasn’t been a bad experience, and having a new pup helped her feel less alone when she first moved in, but nurse Alexis Blake looked forward to making her mark in the cozy small town in Washington that has welcomed her so generously.
