9. Makeup?

Kaey wears makeup because he’s a loser.

In Dragon Age it’s usually just eyeliner & natural looks.In modern, depending, it goes from natural to funky.

His general opinion makeup? He’s indifferent.View on men wearing makeup? If you like it then it’s cool.

Most prized possession?

Kaey has the pendant his mother wore. It’s Dalish in style, a greenish-blue wyvern scale set in silver. It was originally given to his sister but she gave it to them when she was forced into the Circle. He wore it on a leather cord but during his training as a Crow it got broken & he just kept it in a cloth he had tied around his right bicep.

Nowadays, at leisure, he wears it on a silver chain. At other times he wears it on a double cord wrapped around his right bicep or wrist.

This is a very valuable object, one of the only things he’s managed to keep throughout his lifetime. He doesn’t like other people touching it & if he lost he’d probably sink into the depths of depression. It’s sacred to him, not really something he talks about, but if he trusts you then you probably know what it is & what it is worth to him.

some lil headcanons for my tevinter au with @aclassikrem:

            - the first time Kaey sees a Mabari in Ferelden he fucking loses his shit like a little kid he gets so goddamn excited about the dog because he’d only ever seen the hunting &guard breeds in the Imperium & Mabari so much more playful & sweet !!!

            - Kaey & Krem eventually get a Mabari & Kaey names it Kost (’peace’ in Qunlat) & trains it himself & he’s a very loyal & loving lil pooch that will lit only ever answer to Kaey & sometimes Krem & Kaey has a special command for Kost when it’s sexy times ;)

            - even after they’d been out of the Imperium for awhile working for the Iron Bull both Kaey & Krem still appear undeniably Tevinter, wearing clothes reminiscent of their homeland; since it’s near impossible to get clothes from the Imperium anywhere in the South Krem let’s Kaey pick his own fabrics & makes the clothes himself 

            - Kaey hoards food after they leave Seheron. The first real meal they have is when Iron Bull saves them from bounty hunters & they kinda nonchalantly squirrel bread away for later & Bull doesn’t say anything about it besides reminding them to breathe while eating. Even after that Kaey is very set on his food; most of his cut of profits from jobs goes to food & an ‘emergency’ fund. He never lets food go to waste & ensures all the Chargers are well fed, to the point he will stare them down until they take a bite.

            - Kaey is also responsible for providing ‘comforts’ while they’re out on jobs; he has an unfathomable ability to locate anyone with food to sell within a ten mile radius of where they make camp & frequently buys fresh fruit & bread & other things they can’t carry with them for the Chargers. They are frequently grateful for the relief from rabbit stew & hardtack.

          - Kaey also has the amazing power of sniffing out Tevinter food & drink; if there is someone who sells Tevinter wine or makes fresh spiced bread it’s guaranteed Kaey knows about it. He likes finding it for Krem since they both miss the Imperium, & if he can ever get his hands on nice wine he’ll keep it for special occasions. But he always shares with Krem.

           - they don’t trust Dorian while they’re working with the Inquisition; Dorian is slightly understanding of their situation & he swears he’d never do anything to compromise their safety but they have no reason to believe him so they don’t. however they (or rather, Kaey) isn’t above accepting peace offerings from him, little things from the Imperium. eventually they come to a sort of stalemate & let each other be; yet, if Kaey gets some Tevinter wine Dorian always has a glass waiting for him in the library.

          - Iron Bull saved both of them from bounty hunters & offered them a job with the Chargers. Krem accepted despite Kaey’s misgivings, though he eventually learned to trust Bull. Kaey’s nickname is Kata, ‘death’ in Qunlat, which Iron Bull gave him when they first met (”--when I finally came down from the adrenaline rush I saw him, crouching there over Krem, staring at me like he was death itself--”)

            - within the Chargers Kaey is the ‘Qunari specialist’ -- after spending five years cutting the throats of Qunari leaders in Seheron he is extremely good at taking advantage of Qunari in a fight & he utilizes those skills with the Chargers

           - Krem often spars with Iron Bull, though sometimes Kaey drops in to give the fight an edge; Bull loves the challenge, & he’s good at keeping them both on their toes. only once has Kaey managed to get Bull with a knife to his throat, & all Bull could do was laugh

            - (sad shit ahead folks) if the Chargers are sacrificed Kaey is the only survivor, & when he’s better he leaves the Inquisition. he goes back to Seheron to continue fighting, but when Trespasser comes around he’s there when Iron Bull betrays the Inquisitor, & inevitably kills him (”he betrays everyone---- he didn’t deserve to live”) then disappears for good

            - (still sad shit I’m sorry) alternatively, if the Chargers are sacrificed Kaey drags Krem out of the fight & they both survive. Kaey refuses to continue working for Iron Bull & is extremely bitter about the whole thing while Krem is more understanding. they leave the Inquisition together & travel until they eventually decided to stop running & settle down somewhere. they actually get to grow old there, making the town better & more accepting.

            - though few actually know it & they themselves don’t really pay mind to it Kaey & Krem did get married at some point after leaving the Imperium; Kaey wanted it as a precaution, in case they got separated or taken back to Tevinter, that they would know that, even if Tevinter didn’t recognize their unity, they belong to each other.

HEADCANON TIME: Kaey has a very eclectic taste in literature, one that has piqued the interest of several of the companions, who he is more than willing to share his books with. He also has the astounding ability to procure rare & otherwise forgotten texts, which both Leliana & Dorian are very curious about. All in all he’s the favored book lender of Skyhold & at some point he probably starts a lowkey book club with Dorian, which everyone gets involved with sooner or later. (Even Varric, who denies it.)

CONSUMING 

You have the right morals. You don't want to lose your temper but it is your greatest flaw. It's claws grip you and choke you out until it has it's way with you. If you can remove yourself from the situation before that happens you will find sanctuary. If not, the devastation you can cause is unrivaled. You will not explode on everything around you. Rather, ALL of your anger, that has been bottled will explode on the one person who happened to trigger it. They will not stand a chance against your temper. You have the devil in you. You cannot tame it but you can walk away before it shows it's face. The cursed ones.

G is for Gorgeous

what is their most attractive external feature?

Probably his hair – he takes really good care of it & even he can’t deny sometimes how well kept it is, & just how nice & soft & lovely it is. He’s really proud of his hair.

what is the most attractive part of their personality?

Kaey is painfully compassionate. He loves with his everything, cares so much it hurts him, & tries his best to make things good for others. He’d die for someone’s security, for their future, no questions asked. He is incredibly selfless & that is what makes him attractive.

what benefits come with being their friend?

See: protective smol elf will protect you forever, trained healer & apothecary, is very loyal & if you asked him to jump off a cliff he’d oblige, is very caring & compassionate & moral… I don’t know what else? It’s difficult to become his friend but when you are his friend it’s worth it.

what parts of them do they like and dislike?

Scars! Kaey hates his scars! & if you’ve probably wondered why he’s always covered head to toe it’s because he’s very self-conscious of his scars & body & he doesn’t like people being able to see how marred he is. For what he likes, it’s his hair. He takes very good care of his hair, enjoys being able to wash & brush & braid/decorate it. It’s literally a part of who he is, it’s kind of like his symbol, & when it’s profaned by cutting it or something else he’s not the same. Kaey loves his hair & is very protective of it. It’s who he is.

what parts of others do they envy?

Nice, smooth, unmarred skin. &, sometimes, he can be made uncomfortable by his own skin color & race & he envies a white human etc. He also envies people who look healthy, because he’s a stick & he’s terribly self-conscious of people realizing that under his layers & billowing fabric he’s a smol ass guy with only a little muscle.

what makes them happy?

Nice weather, reading/books, good food, good company, feeling needed/wanted, getting to do what he wants to do in leisure i.e. study herbs, go horseback riding, practice falconry. Acts of kindness also make him happy, as well as acts of gratitude.

Not really, Kaey isn’t really a music person.

Nowadays, yeah. In his younger years not so much.

Getting to be with the people he loves & feeling needed/wanted by them & getting to show them how much they mean to him & being able to love them!
