As Link regains more and more memories, he blames himself more and more for failing his duties as the ‘chosen hero’. Everyone was counting on him and Princess Zelda to stop Calamity Ganon, the fate of their world as they knew it was resting on their shoulders. And yet, despite everything they tried to do in preparation... Their plans failed. He failed them, and he failed Zelda. The thought crops up more and more often as each memory returns, as the faces of each other champion finally become familiar again.

Any weapons Link receives for stopping the Divine Beasts, he refuses to use. He fears that, knowing him, they’ll either get lost or broken. Given that they were once belongings of his fallen allies, he wants to keep them safe for their sake. Instead, he decided to ask Bolson’s crew for special displays for them in the old rundown cottage in Hateno he offered to buy.
