"Okay Mom" Mia says again with an eye roll. A little bit too much emphasis on the 'mom' part. It's true at least. Dinah is probably the closest thing Mia has ever had to a mom. Even better than her own mom was before she died.
"I'll pick them up before I go on patrol" Mia continues. "It'll be fine. You don't have to act so much like Connor about this." Connor's always getting on her about her meds. It's kind of his thing. He's sweet about it. Always packs her a lunch. It's weird not having him around anymore. It's like she's missing her other half.
"School's going fine." She says "I got friends. Kid's like me. At least I think they do." She shrugs. The whole having friend things isn't really her speed. She's not used to it. Being secluded for years do that to someone. She looks back up at Dinah "Thinking of auditioning for the school musical."

___________  When she had started with the League, meeting Ollie not long after on the top of her nineteen years old, she never imagined & never wanted to involve kids, as much as the emerald archer liked to ask for it. ( don’t want to make orphans ). Then, came Roy, & without Hal, she would have never been able to take care of the younger bow holder. & then, as if fate had others plans, she realized she wouldn’t bear any of her own babies, but would still own the biggest family - after the bats - around. Came Connor, quickly followed by Mia, & Sin, & Lian. That was just way more than she had expected.

Mia on top of that, developed a particular bond with the elder canary. She was Dinah on so many ways, the wits, the blooded hair… she’d never trade any of them for anything. Dinah was getting the meds box ready, at least for two days, since she couldn’t find the others boxes.       “ Hey, don’t take it so lightly young Lady. I want you to go later today get them. We never know what could happen, if we were called for a mission, you’ll have them. ”     She closed the box, set it aside on the kitchen counter,       “ So, how’s school ? You’re making friends ? ”

Continued from Mothers Day
“It’s Mothers Day D, you should not be paying for food.” Mia smiles and reaches into her pocket. She reveals a silver piece of plastic “I swiped this from Ollie. He won’t miss it.” She says. She twirls it between her fingers. “C’mon I know this really good burger place that I went to with some of my friends once. You’d love it.” She grabs Dinah by the wrist already dragging her out of the building.

Mia smiles. She's misses always having Dinah around. She should visit more often but school, the titans and superheroing tend to get in the way of that. She knows she should call more often but it slips her mind. She'll try harder. She misses her family.
Family is an important thing for Mia. She knows that Oliver and Dinah have been going through things. She's not blind. It's always hard on her. She would be lying if she said that it didn't cause her to act out. That's teenage psychology. She wants her family and after so many years of not having one this chaos that she became a part of became really import to her. "I'll talk to Gina then" she says with a smile "and I will keep you updated. I will ask for a date as soon as I go back to school."
She smiles again "I haven't heard from Roy in a while." She says "I have been meaning to go and visit." She shrugs. For another day, she guesses. At least Lian remembers to call her every once in a while. "How are things going with you? And Sin?" She asks.
MIA
“I guess you’re right. It’s not just me anymore.” Mia says. It’s taking her a lot of time to get used to that. She’s not on her own anymore. She’s got friends. Hobbies. She’s popular. It’s all an entirely new experience to her. She never went to middle school but she’s adapting. Learning fast.
“Don’t know which part yet. Gina was gonna help me with that one.” The smiles and looks at Dinah “Unless you’d rather do that.” She picks up an apple off the counter “I’ll get you the performance date. We can make it a family outing. Actually all get to do something together that doesn’t involve punching.”
Dinah was truly happy for Mia, she hadn’t seen her for a quite a time since she had moved back to Gotham with Sin. Catching up with her older daughter while she was still with Ollie felt weird though. Canary didn’t want to ask anything about him, they weren’t an item anymore, things had ended up ugly. However it was without counting on Ollie’s obstinacy. He was back trying to talk about a potential ‘ them ’.
“ I could help you, but you’d have to be around more, so it’s probably better if you friend can.”      Dinah winced slightly at the family comment, because in all honesty, while Ollie’s offer was tempting, she still didn’t give him a proper answer. It couldn’t go back to the swing of things as if nothing happened. She wanted Ollie to understand how he hurt her.      “ Give me the date, I’ll try to make it with Sin at least, ”     she smiled,      “ Do you have any news from Roy & Lian ? ”      she asked, knowing Roy hadn’t visited the areas lately, as he was located currently in New York.

MIA
“I’ve told you about Gina before, right?” Mia asks. Gina is her best friend. Maybe the only best friend she’s ever had before. Gina’s been helping her get out of her comfort zone. Even talk to people at her school. Hang out with kids her own age. “Casey and Trevor too. I’ve been talking to Zach.”
She smiles. She is making friends. That’s a good thing. Unless that’s Ollie thinking and not her. He has a way of getting in her head like that.
“I don’t have a voice.” Mia explains “I dance.” She looks down at the table. She likes to dance. She’s good at it, it’s something she picked up when she was younger. Helped her with her training too later on. “There’s no cute boy. We’re putting on Chicago and Gina wants me to audition.” She shrugs “She’s playing Velma and the theatre teacher needs someone else for a lead.”
Lips chewing slowly, Dinah was still watching the teenager with attention, amused smile hovering on her lips.     “ I think I remember about Gina, yeah… ”     She could be forgetful but there were things that didn’t need to be reminded more than twice.      “ So you’re not really on your own anymore… that’s great Mia. ”     She was happy to see her smile talking about her friends & the project of being in a musical. Social relationships weren’t the easiest for the younger blonde considering her past.·
“ You’re going to audition for Roxie then ?”      Now that was interesting. Mia went from nothing to everything in a very short time. Dinah never believed sh couldn’t do it, but maybe not with so few efforts. It was easy at home with everyone, family was easy. School not really.     “ Make sure to tell us when you guys will perform so I can remind Ollie not to plan anything that night. ”       It was the first time Dinah & Ollie would go to one of their kids projects at school, like…ordinary parents. Their sons were too old, only remained Sin who·didn’t have anything currently.     “ You know, I did some ballet back in my very young days.”

The eye roll wasn’t missed, but that didn’t mean much from Mia who was literally a perfect copy of both Dinah & Ollie, despite them not being entirely related. Well, all their family was like that, from Roy, to Connor, Mia & Sin. Great pieces of a complicated puzzle.
“ Actually he’s the one acting like me, he’s like your mother sometimes, ”      she mocked playfully, expecting fully well the other to join her into it. He was even more careful about Mia than Dinah was, because Canary knew that Mia also needed to be independent to grow up the right way. She was just… being a mom, while Connor was taking her under his wings to protect her like the big brother he always dreamed to be.
“ Mhm. What’s their names ? ”     Mia had issues making friends; she was a sweet, & pretty teen at home, but she believed her virus had a strong role into her developing others relationships outside their family. She needed friends her age, Ollie told her multiple times already, so it was about time she started to go back to school again.
“ Musical ? ”     That, she didn’t expect. She shoved a biscuit in her mouth, leaning her elbows upon the kitchen counter,      “ Didn’t know you had a voice… ”     She wanted to tease her more, but she actually seemed very serious about that new project.     “ Alright, there’s a cute boy in this club or ? ”     she chuckled,      “ I swear, Ollie’s gonna record the whole thing if you’re performing.”
