"I didn't get you anything for your birthday." Xiao turns his head away to hide his sheepishness.

"...Okay, I did. Here," the Yaksha presents a garnished plate of almond tofu with a candle adorned atop, he grabs Aether by the arm and hurriedly places the gift in his hand. Xiao quickly turns his back towards Aether, not wanting the birthday boy to see the slight hesitation in his face.

After a small pause, he utters, "If you would like some company for your birthday, I can... stick around for a while."

“Xiao, if you’re gonna lie try to make it credible..” The blonde was grinning at his friend.

That exactly what he said, not credible. He didn’t have the time to tease him that the Yaksha already grabbed him by the arm to only get something in his hands.
