❥ Ericson Headcanons ♥︎ Jealousy

Characters: Clementine, Marlon, Mitch, Violet, Louis, Aasim, Ruby

Description: How the Ericson kids respond to being made jealous.

Warnings: None!! :o)

Notes: This was difficult for some reason!! People might be OOC, very sorry!! I didn't like how Aasim’s turned out especially.

Clementine

♥︎ Clementine wouldn’t get jealous too quickly. She liked seeing you talk to people and she liked you being happy, it didn’t matter if it was from other people.

♥︎ But sometimes she felt like you were distant, and it would weigh on her. She’d feel guilty when seeing you happy would give her a sinking feeling.

♥︎ She didn’t know what to do. Would it be rude if she went over to you in the middle of a conversation? She didn’t want to upset you, despite her own feelings.

♥︎ Though if you were all sitting around the campfire she’d make her way over there, plopping herself next to you even if there wasn’t any room. If people were already by your side she’d sit in front of you, where you’d absentmindedly play with her hair.

♥︎ One time she could see you talking to Mitch, watching you giggle and playfully slap his shoulder, dismissing whatever joke he said. Her expression would turn sour, sighing deeply.

♥︎ She’d wait for the conversation to end and wait for you to be by yourself and as soon as she saw you isolated, she’d quickly make her way over there.

♥︎ Clem would wrap her arms around your waist, her cheek pressed against your back. You’d be surprised at first, Clementine was affectionate but something felt different, this wasn’t the casual display she’d usually give by brushing your hand with hers, she was holding you… Awfully tight against her.

♥︎ You’d rub her hands, laughing slightly under your breath. You’d ask her what this was about and she’d say something simple like she missed you.

♥︎ You quickly managed to catch on, but you didn’t say anything. Clementine couldn’t help her feelings, but you made sure to give her plenty of affection when you were finished with a conversation, letting her know that she had nothing to worry about and that you loved her.

Marlon

♥︎ Marlon is quick to get jealous, but he tends to bite his tongue. His face was easy to read, his brows furrowed, his intense eyes, his lips wanting to twitch into a snarl. He liked to think he wasn’t obvious, but he really was.

♥︎ He would get slightly possessive when you two started dating. He’d hate when people got too close, but he didn’t do anything about it, he’d be angry later. He didn’t want to embarrass either of you.

♥︎ You’d console him later, after all, and he liked getting attention.

♥︎ Though when he felt himself get heated he’d gravitate toward you, finding his hands on your hips as he stood behind you, briefly monitoring your conversation. It was his way of saying hello and a way of reminding the person there that you were his. He’d stand up straight, staring them down.

♥︎ Louis was the only person he was more vocal with. He’d put his arm over your shoulder when telling a joke and Marlon was quick, telling him to knock it off. Louis liked to annoy his friend but didn’t want to overstep any boundaries. It was one of the instances where he’d let his jealousy come out vocally, letting it show.

♥︎ There were times where it’d mean he’d change the hunting party last minute, saying you were with him, much to the annoyance of everybody else. As much as people would try to argue, they knew to listen to Marlon’s orders. If there was anything to be said about it he’d listen to you and you alone.

♥︎ People could see through it regardless, the way he’d stand right next to you, put his arm around this small of your back as they headed off, a small grin on his face as he’d just won something.

♥︎ When Marlon was jealous he’d show the rest of Ericson that you were his, using his authority to his advantage, which was very inconvenient at times, but he didn’t want to lose you. Ericson would surely not run the same if you were gone. He relied on you.

Mitch

♥︎ Mitch was very easy to make jealous. Mitch didn’t express his love through physical touch and affectionate words were scarce, so he worried you’d be easy to get taken away.

♥︎ He worried people could provide for you better than he could, but he couldn’t admit that. It would destroy his ego. Talking about his feelings made him feel vulnerable and it took him a while to feel comfortable tearing those walls down around him.

♥︎ When somebody got too close to you, Mitch was very quick to walk up there and give them a piece of his mind. He was vocal, telling them they needed to get away from you. He’d jump to conclusions, his insecurities making him paranoid.

♥︎ Mitch and Aasim were already tense, but he was still your friend regardless of how Mitch felt. Seeing the way you two would sit so close, how you were engrossed with his stories, it infuriated him. With Aasim, his fuse was shorter and he didn’t hesitate to tear into him. Aasim wasn’t the kind to back down, so you’d need to step in between them, scolding Mitch for his irrational behaviour.

♥︎ You’d leave to go calm him down, sitting privately together. Eventually, you’d manage to pull some information out of him. Mitch would finally confess, telling you he thought you’d get stolen away. Mitch struggled to show you affection, he was worried you’d desire it from somebody else.

♥︎ After exposing his vulnerabilities, Mitch felt more comfortable with himself. You consoled him, letting him know that you loved him and you were okay with him taking things at his own pace. He still couldn’t help but feel angered when you’d talk to somebody else for a little too long, but he knew to not lash out.

♥︎ He learned to be more loving behind closed doors, one step at a time. It helped him feel like your relationship was more secure. It was a slow progression, but it was something you both loved.

Violet

♥︎ Violet’s jealousy was bitter. She’d watch from a distance, biting away at the skin of her mouth. When you’d finally go to join her, she’d be slightly distant, but she didn’t want you to leave. It left this awkward void between you two, something that left naturally after some time when conversation managed to spike again.

♥︎ You and Clementine were friends. Violet and Clementine were friends, so why did her chest feel so tight when she saw you two together…?

♥︎ She walked up behind Clementine, waiting until you acknowledged her. She’d make some excuse, telling you she needed help with something. You’d excuse yourself from the conversation and you were quick to leave with Violet, who was speeding away with clenched fists.

♥︎ It didn’t take long to realise there was nothing Violet needed help with and she just wanted to be alone with you. She felt guilty for pulling you away like that, but she didn’t know why she was feeling the way she did.

♥︎ She was hoping taking you away would fix it. She apologised to you, saying it was rude and unfair.

♥︎ You made sure to pay more attention to her during the times where she fell into bitter silence, combing your fingers through her hair and sitting close to her, your bodies pressed together. It made her feel loved when she felt you on her like that, so it quickly made the resentful jealousy melt away.

Louis

♥︎ Louis acted quickly on his jealousy, wrapping his arms around you and forcing himself into the conversation.

♥︎ He is a little nervous about verbally talking about the fact he is jealous, but he does talk to you about it.

♥︎ He doesn’t get that hateful kind of jealousy, he just wants to be included. He doesn’t like seeing you laugh without him, he always wants to be in on the joke.

♥︎ But he will listen if you think he’s being too clingy, though it’ll sting a little. Regardless, he’s going to give you space if you think he’s being too much.

♥︎ But when those times alone come to a close, expect him to bombard you with love, though he typically does that behind closed doors. He’ll act like it’s been days and not just… A couple of minutes.

♥︎ Will joke about the way he’s feeling a lot, hoping that if you laugh it’ll make it go away. After all, he just wants to make you laugh and because of him instead of somebody else and as soon as it happens he doesn’t have any doubts.

♥︎ He only stops the joking when you two are by yourself, where he’s curl up next to you and hold you close. He might express that he didn’t like the way Ruby was calling you so many pet names, even though she does that for everybody. He’d tell you he knew he was being irrational, but he couldn’t help it.

♥︎ But he didn’t hold it against any of you, only himself. As soon as he had you alone he didn’t care anymore. He was just glad you were with him.

Aasim

♥︎ Aasim wasn’t afraid to speak his mind. He could be stern and just wanted to get the point across.

♥︎ The point being “do not flirt with my partner.”

♥︎ Though people typically didn’t, not intentionally at least. Aasim was pretty serious for the most part and people tended to respect his boundaries, the few exceptions regarding his notebook but nothing with his partner.

♥︎ But Omar was talking to you one night and Aasim couldn’t help but feel jealous. The way he’d purr your name, the way he’d word things in a way that they could apply to you.

♥︎ I mean, the food was definitely not sweet, so why did he say sweet? Did he mean that you were sweet? Was he calling his partner sweet?

♥︎ Oh Omar and that Southern tongue of his… Aasim would click his tongue in annoyance and make a sarcastic comment which would shut him up.

♥︎ Aasim usually would write his feelings, finding it easier than speaking, but you still wanted to hear it directly from him in the moment. What was his problem? Did something go wrong during hunting for him to be so snappy?

♥︎ He didn’t know how to answer, saying he didn’t like the way he was speaking to you.

♥︎ You were quick to tell him off for being rude, saying Omar would probably spit in his food.

♥︎ He wouldn’t do that… Would he?

♥︎ Aasim found his way to Omar and apologised, but he also apologised to you. When Aasim was jealous he’d take it out on other people, the person typically being the one he thought was flirting with you, even though they very much weren’t.

♥︎ He’d run his fingers along your spine when in bed, complaining about whoever got his negative attention that day. You’d laugh and snap him out of it, telling him that he was just jealous. He was, but he wouldn’t admit it, too embarrassed. He’d just insist they were being flirty, but it’s fine. He’s over it. I mean, you’re his partner after all and not theirs. They couldn’t take you away from him.

♥︎ Though he did listen to you. If you said they weren’t trying anything then he’d believe it. He knew he was just jealous, even if he very much did not want to come to that realisation.

Ruby

♥︎ Ruby’s jealousy was obvious, but it was in short bursts.

♥︎ It would be written all over her face, she’d constantly be huffing out responses that could easily be taken as playful jokes, but also bitter sarcasm. It wasn’t a fun environment to be in.

♥︎ But it wouldn’t last, she’d make sure to calm herself down. She’s had to learn how to do that by herself, she could handle it.

♥︎ But she handled things better with you there.

♥︎ After every hunt she’d open her arms wide, waiting for you to come over and give her a big hug, but recently you didn’t do it immediately, and she felt embarrassed. Everybody could see her waiting there and you just kind of left her hanging, in the middle of a conversation with Violet, giggling at one of her jokes.

♥︎ She asked what all the fun was, but you just said she wouldn’t get it. She awkwardly laughed, feeling left out.

♥︎ She felt really childish talking to you about it later, saying you forgot to hug her. At the realisation, you immediately scooped her up in your arms, exclaiming you have no idea how you forgot. She quickly forgave you, not exactly needing to forgive you in the first place.

♥︎ But she hated the feeling she got in her chest when you’d come back from a hunt with Violet, almost cry-laughing on your way back.

♥︎ Ruby decided to talk to you about it, hoping it’d make the feeling go away.

♥︎ Ruby said you’ve been holed up with Violet a lot recently, her hands on her waist. Ruby was short, but sometimes she felt tall. You were a little intimidated, not sure where she was getting at.

♥︎ She eventually sighed, bringing you into a hug. She admitted that she’s just missed you being around. She wanted you more with her, at Ericson. Not out hunting with Violet.

♥︎ She knew it was selfish but she didn’t like the feeling it gave her, but you shushed her and told her it was okay, that you understood.

♥︎ She lit up when you told her the best part of hunting was coming back to her.

♥︎ It stopped being just a hug, but a bunch of kisses peppered around her face. She liked the change and it made her a little less bitter when she saw you laughing with Violet, not when Ruby was getting all the kisses and she wasn’t.
