“You asked, the first time, why I followed Van?” How many days would the naive princess show up before his cell? Dull eyes look to the ceiling. This was boring. “Dist followed because only Van would allow him to continue biological fomicry research. That research lead to the replica of Asch, and later seven fon master replicas.” He glances over. Why is he even talking? To get it off his chest? Had he finally gone stir-crazy after weeks of silence with nothing but his own thoughts? Perhaps. 

But she had been right, to comment it had made little sense as to why someone as smart as himself, followed Van, followed the order that threw him away and condemned him to death. It would be easier to live had he been naive or stupid. But he wasn’t. 

“I knew right from the start he was manipulating me. Unlike Asch. His ‘kind’ words didn’t work with me, nor his bullshit about saving me. I may have been a failure with the seventh fon and unfit to replace the Fon Master, but I at least have a brain.” He says after having been imprisoned. A slightly defective brain, prone to human emotions that he wanted no part of. "You sadly one day, may have to lead. So I offer you a question. If you found a resource the would aid you, that would make your rule easier and go more smoothly, would you let it go?"

“But Van didn’t see me as a person.” He is a replica and now a masterless tool. Sitting up, he moves to stand, watching her for a moment. Scarred fingers push back some of the unkept hair that had long fallen out of their maintained spikes. Then he steps even closer, right up to the bars. 

“What do you think Van would have done had I simply decided I no longer wanted to play the part of his tool?” He wouldn’t. He had no reason to ever have betrayed Van. Only Van could give him the revenge he wanted. A small smile. She probably already thought of something tragic by now. He might as well use that to his advantage. It’d be funny to burn it all down. He wasn’t a pathetic kid. “Do you really think I haven’t tried? I’m sure you’ve already heard about my love of death.”

His want to die, his hatred of living. And two attempts yet here was he was. “In the core, after I failed to stop the Fon Master’s group, I jumped into the core. Yet here I stand, because the Commandant used Lorelei’s power to bring me back. If he’d go that far, do you really think I had an actual choice about following him?”

Emily was stressed. She had been tasked with discovering about Van and the God Generals as much as she could. But Sync was...difficult. she would at first come daily. But then Peony threw marriage at her. Not to him of course but he decided to play match maker. So now she has a wedding to plan to Guy of all folks. She felt bad for him. He could only be around like maybe four women.

She shook her head. She was getting distracted.

She listened. Listened to him ramble. It was the most he spoke in weeks. She sighed at his question.

"If it was a person? I wouldn't. I'd rather struggle." To hold a person hostage just so ruling was easier? Hard pass really. She didn't like the idea. In fact she hated it. But...here she was marrying a stranger with a phobia of women.

"If i was forced to keep them, then who knows? At that point I may turn cruel and keep them close." She shrugged. A little princess who didn't want the throne and yet...here she was being forced to take it. All because peony had no heirs and had a choice in who took over. So now he was single handedly creating a new blood line. Damn.
