time frame: finals season, probs like two weeks ago

barely an hour into studying, and carti was bored. they’d taken up studying together upon the discovery that they had the same major, looking for a book in the same shelf of the library. carti being who they are, sparked up a conversation that led to their eventual agreement of becoming study buddies. but on a day like today with finals coming up and their brain physically hurting from looking at the same page for too long, they needed a break.

“i’m tired of studying,” carti whined, pushing the book towards the middle of the table and leaning back in their chair. they could imagine some dirty looks being thrown their way, but they didn’t care. carti felt so much pressure to do great, to be perfect.. all because of their status as a professor’s child.. and such a thought sparked the idea of chaos in their mind, a slow grin spreading across their lips. “how ‘bout we take a pause and go break into my mom’s office to steal some of her booze? maybe we’ll think better with some liquor in our systems.”
