okay so. Idk if this was genuine or not but I’m acting like it is to help other ppl who didn’t read any of Homestuck: homestuck trolls have their own forms of “romance”, based off of the card suits: there are 4 in total.

1. Matespritship ❤️ (also called “redrom”)

2. Moirallegiance♦️

3. Kismesissitude ♠️ (also called “blackrom”)

4. Auspicism ♣️

Matespritship (❤️) is the closest to normal human romance. One of the two relationships that are used for reproduction (for trolls). You call your partner your “matesprit”

Moirallegiance (♦️) is similar to a QPR, as in its like... a platonic soulmate scenario. You call the your partner your “moirall”.

Kismesisstude (♠️) is.... basically hate-fucking tbh. It’s tied to intense shared feelings of hate, respect, and dedication to the other person. Like... you’re dedicated rivals. One of the two relationships that are used for reproduction (for trolls). You call your partner your “kismesis”.

Auspicism (♣️) is similar to kismesis, but with a third party involved so that the other two don’t like... go too far and kill each other (or end up cheating and have too many kismesisstudes going on.) The facilitator is called the “auspistice”.

Trolls (and thus, in troll shipping/troll quadrants) can also have quadrant vacillation. Basically flipping your relationship between a set of relationship quadrants (often ❤️ and ♠️). It’s a little unstable but like. It CAN work, it just takes a lot of effort. Tbh, before Foolish auspistices (♣️) for them, I def think Ponk and Sam can be said to be in quadrant vacillation between ❤️ and ♠️
