Kai: The Fool and The Sun
Tarot Headcanon Meme | Accepting
The Fool:What is the stupidest thing your muse has ever done?
Ooh, he did a loooot of stupid shit in the Prison World just because there were no consequences. He insists that the worst one was making a smoothie out of as many different kinds of chili pepper as he could find. (He has a very bad scope of stupid decisions, though, because he did a lot stupider shit than that.)
However, since there were literally no consequences to anything he did in the Prison World, it’s hard to say those things were out of stupidity rather than boredom. He knew what would happen, he just also knew that he’d wake up repeating the same day and get to try a new stupid thing.
So as for things that he genuinely did out of stupidity -- i.e., he thought this would work, and it was idiotic of him to think so, and it didn’t -- that would be underestimating Damon Salvatore. A scheme that he thought would put the whole Mystic Falls Gang in the palm of his hand, actually just got him quite unceremoniously beheaded.
The Sun:What was the happiest moment of your muse's life?
Those few moments after he merged with Luke. When he thought that it had worked, before a brand new conscience set in to make him feel horrible about it, when he thought he had finally gotten all the power he was born to have.
Closely followed by his first breath of the real world, after being trapped in a pocket dimension for ten years.

Headcanon: Kai & Movies
After graduating high school, Kai worked at a dollar theater in the years before he was sealed away in the Prison World.  He made sure to see every movie they showed at least once, and from this was born his love for pop culture.  His favorite movie is Jurassic Park, which was released almost a year before his imprisonment began.  He did find one or two dollar theaters like the one he worked at that were still showing it on May 10, 1994, and he often revisited those theaters to see it on the big screen again.
From this, he developed a secret desire to act.  He really loves the performance and story-telling and everything involved in movie-making.  What frustrated him most about movies, however, before The Merge was that he couldn’t emotionally connect with the characters or their feelings.  He found dramatic, emotional journeys boring and, in some cases, even uncomfortable, like they were made for an audience that excludes him.  He also knew that this inability to understand emotion was the reason he could never be an actor, and it made him bitter.
Maybe post-Merge, that could change!

Come On Now Follow My Lead | Kai & Katherine
Thread history with fangsxandxcurls -- moving thread again, I’m sorry!!  I’ll catch your reply and draft it over here.
I may be crazy don’t mind me, say – Boy, let’s not talk too much Come on now follow my lead…
Katherine pushed chestnut curls back as her hips moved to the music. Grabbing a bottle of top-shelf whiskey she stepped over the mangled body behind the bar…the bartender had not fared well when Katherine got bored of her. The pretty girl had been some entertainment, all scared and pleading, but then Katherine got tired of her voice. Thankfully, nobody would be hearing her voice anymore…
Pushing herself up onto the bar top, Katherine swung her legs back over. Stilettoed heels rapped on the wood floor as she hopped back down, a bounce in her step. Hell sucked, and one had to find entertainment where she could. Besides…the bartender was in Hell right? It wasn’t as if she had been a GOOD person. When Katherine wasn’t reliving her worst decisions ever, she had some free reign, courtesy of favours she had already garnered from the worst of the worst. But in times like this, the worlds would overlap, and the denizens of Hell had the opportunity to take a small reprieve from the torment and torture. Usually it was when Cade went topside.
Closing her eyes, she moved to the music, taking a swig from the bottle. But then the air around her changed…something was off. Stopping, Katherine pulled her shoulders up, turning her ear behind her to hear the footsteps. Turning, the took in the sight in front of her. The brunette narrowed her eyes, settling her weight back on the heels of her feet. Tilting her head to the side, she gave the man a once over. ❝WELL,❞ she said, leaning her hip against a table. ❝YOU’RE A NEW FACE…❞ Katherine offered the bottle, holding it out in front of her.❝DRINK?❞
Kai sighed dramatically when he landed right back where he started again.  Luke had to have known.  He had to have known, when he decided to merge with his not-twin brother, that this conscience would plague him for all eternity.  The only bitter justice was that Luke had to go through it, too.
It hurt.  Everything hurt.  Things that had never hurt before, things he had done because they didn’t hurt – it was all gonna keep playing, over and over again like a broken VHS tape.  And he got it now, with this damn Jiminy Cricket in his head, how it was all so wrong, how it all should have felt.  Why people didn’t do the things he’d done.  But no matter how he tried to fix it, how he tried to do what he would have done, if he’d had something like a heart at the time – it always turned out the same.
So with a heart that shouldn’t be there still throbbing painfully in his chest, he took a second to try to prepare for whatever he was about to turn around to this time.  Slaughtering his younger siblings?  Cutting his twin sister’s spleen out of her body?  Forcing Luke to merge with him?  He really hoped it wasn’t the damn wedding again.
But the unfamiliar voice made his brow flicker with confusion, so he turned around before he could decide he was ready.  More bewilderment crossed his face – why Elena Gilbert? – before his eyes swept over her quite un-Elena posture.  A grin twisted his lips, though confusion still knit his brow, and he reached forward to take the offered drink.
“You’re a welcome change,” he said after a large swallow that made his face scrunch some.  Passing it back, his smile spread back over his face as a hunch grew.  “Are you…Katherine?”
A delicate eyebrow rose when the man said her name. It wasn’t as though she wasn’t used to others knowing who she was before she knew them. Before Hell, Katherine was a force to deal with, and she was as notorious as she was nefarious. Down here though…well, while there were some who knew of her…and others that knew her intimately because she had screwed them over somehow at some point, she couldn’t place his face in the sea of “people who want to kill me” list.
Puckering his lips thoughtfully, she took the bottle back, taking another drink.❝INTERESTING. WANNA TELL ME HOW YOU KNOW ME ON SIGHT OR DO I GET TO PLAY WITH YOU A BIT AND PULL IT OUT OF YOU? I’M NOT OPPOSED TO THE LATTER,❞ she said, her tone disinterested despite her words, ❝BUT THE POINT OF BIG NASTY CADE BEING TOPSIDE IS THAT WE GET TO ESCAPE THE WHOLE TORTURE OUR DAMNED SOULS GIG AND ACTUALLY RELAX.❞
As long as it didn’t involve her running through woods from evil hybrids or constantly being rejected by one of the Salvatore brothers…a girl could only take so much rejection before her ego began to deflate a bit – which was the POINT.
Walking to the bar, she bent over it looking at the shelves underneath on the other side upside down, her curls falling above her head through gravity. Grabbing a couple of shot glasses, she righted herself and made her way to a table before sitting down, pouring shots. Might as well pass the time in pleasant company. If he annoyed her later maybe she’d make a snack of him – stock up for all the running she’d be doing, again, once Cade returned.
It was a strange sort of luck that would land him in the same… dimension?  Circle?  Whatever, that he would find Katherine Pierce, of all people.  He’d only heard about her, of course, since he’d arrived in Mystic Falls after she’d been “dragged off into oblivion,” as Bonnie Bennett put it.  The witch had taken a special kind of joy in reliving that memory, and it was one of the few moments Kai saw any trace of the sadism he was so familiar with in her.
He followed the woman over to the table and held up the shot glass for her to pour the alcohol into.  He peered at the glass, pretending to study it even though he had no actual interest in the substance.  “What about a game of ‘Never Have I Ever?’” he asked with a grin that landed his eyes back on hers.
He leaned back in the chair, balancing it on its rear legs as he contemplated his challenge.  He pursed his lips over his teeth and tapped a finger on his chin for a second before a smile spread on his face and he let the chair down with a thud.
“Never have I ever killed a Bennett witch!”  He threw back his own drink and watched Katherine across from him.  His own answer wouldn’t tell her much, obviously, but it did establish that they were at least on the same playing field.  He wanted to give her a reason to play the game.
