【   ♛.   ⸻   &. 𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨.   】         how long has it been since they've seen that face ... since they've heard that voice ? it felt impossible to answer now, as outworld's flow of time moves at a far different pace than that of their home realm. what was only a mere year there could easily be 20 or more here. yet as foggy eyes make contact to his pursuer, they do not appear too much different than when they last sought each other, though the blaring red mark along kuai liang's eye was not present in the past. it was a sign that they had indeed made the wrong decision all those years ago. ❝ if otherwise, you would not know that I still live. ❞ of the former grandmaster's sons, kuai liang was the only one who took the time to understand sign language. he clearly sees the spear-wielder means no harm, but he does not move any closer. perhaps a simple precaution, perhaps the fact that they were still weary of kuai liang seeking them out, especially with all that has unfolded. his eyes gaze for a moment ... he looks so much like his father. ❝ I am aware of your brother's betrayal at general ying's fortress, as well as his reveal of his involvement in your father's demise. ❞ there was not much that eluded them, for they were always on the watch in regards to old faces coming into unwelcomed territory. ❝ it is unfortunate you had to hear it from his mouth, but now the truth is undeniable. ❞ the misty killer knows they've revealed another bombshell to the ousted prince of the lin kuei, and if they were here for what they thought, he would hear far more. a moment of hesitancy spurs: he is essentially returning himself to a life they well abandoned by even showing their face. had circumstances not been different, they would have killed him for finding him ... but circumstances were different .... and now they needed to fulfill the wishes of the man who bestowed all of their secrets to him ... to save what bit of his legacy may remain. 

❝ ... follow me; we must move as if you have not come here at all. ❞ fingers beckon as they begin to walk a path in the deadened part of the forrest, still in rot from quan chi's diabolical rituals. ❝ now that you have witnessed your brother's true nature, I do not feel as guarded to tell you of all that unfolded before & after. ❞ the fog builds as they walk, no doubt from hydro's command.

❝ I take it you wanted to be found. I know how good you are at covering your tracks. ❞ A small smile was offered to indicate that Kuai Liang meant no harm as he approached the other, hands held up in a calming gesture as to not trigger them into a fight or flight response. Although Tomas had offered to accompany him, Kuai Liang had insisted on coming here to meet Hydro alone. With both of them having still been Lin Kuei the last time they had seen each other, he would not be surprised if Hydro was wary of his intentions. After all, the Lin Kuei did not take kindly to those who dared to turn their back on the clan, hunting down anyone who broke their oath to its grandmaster.

Any attempt to leave the Lin Kuei was considered an act of treason and while Kuai Liang didn't know the reason for Hydro's decision to abandon that life, he was hoping to maybe find an ally in his former clanmate. Hydro's skills would be invaluable to the Shirai Ryu, though that was not the only reason why the pyromancer had spent weeks trying to track them down. Concern for the other's safety had brought him here above all else. Up until this point, Outworld might have been a safe haven for Hydro but now that Bi-Han had Outworlders amongst his allies, the other's life was in danger more so than ever. Knowing his brother's ruthlessness and how Bi-Han had always hated loose ends, there was no doubt in Kuai Liang's mind that the cryomancer would not shy away from killing Hydro if given the opportunity.

❝ A lot has changed since you left the Lin Kuei. ❞ Scorpion said in a more serious tone. ❝ I believe you and I should talk. ❞
