Finally finding the strength to drag yourself to the kitchen only to somehow manage to spill coffee all over yourself and your belongings, tech included. The coffee was hot enough to leave a painful burn, and there was no doubt your laptop was completely destroyed. You tried not to cry on your way to the medbay, you felt pathetic limping to and from. The walk of shame indeed.

After cleaning up the rest of the mess and at least trying to salvage the rest of your belongings that fell victim, you decided a change of clothes would do some good. Your only priority now was to Avoid. Ghost.

The last thing you needed today was his shit.

Normally you could take what he dished out, but today whatever he had in store would most definitely destroy you. Which is exactly why you froze you heard heavy foot steps approach you. You didn’t need to look to know exactly who it was.

Beside Simon lived his neighbor of nearly 4 years. Simon was often out on deployment and only saw his neighbor occasionally. Small talk would be exchanged but that was the extent of it.

One day as he was making his way to his front door, he spotted his neighbor and what looked to be a girl trailing behind him. The closer they got, he realized that it was a hybrid. A dog hybrid to be exact. His neighbor adopted a hybrid. Now that was interesting.

You glanced at Simon curiously as you passed and quickly turned away when you both made eye contact. He was intimidating to say the least.

“Cute.” He thought.

From then on things changed a bit. Now instead of silence, his empty flat was filled with the sound of your laughter through the shared walls. Sometimes he could feel the place shake when you ran around. He knew you were a bit clumsy based on all the times he heard a loud thump and the whining that followed.

This should’ve annoyed Simon, or at the very least peeved him. But he found that he didn’t mind the noise. Welcomed it, even.

Sometimes it was comforting to hear your giggles disturb the quiet of the empty flat.

Secretly he started to look forward to seeing his neighbor when he stepped out, because he knew you’d be there.

The closest he’d ever gotten to you was when you were on a walk trailing behind your owner. You spotted Simon and, for reasons unknown, started to sprint towards him excitedly. His neighbor was startled by this and quickly grabbed you before you could reach him. The baclava managed to hide Simon’s look of surprise. He glanced at his neighbor and raised an eyebrow quizzically.

His neighbor swallowed, nervous he’d officially screwed up.

“I’m so sorry. She’s never done this before, I have no idea what got into her.”

Simon looked down at you wriggling in your neighbors grip, desperately trying to escape. His eyes softened.

“S’alright.” He muttered, and placed a gentle hand on your head. “Sure she meant no harm.”

He retreated back into his flat feeling far too soft for his liking.

Those following us might be aware that we are interested in demonology and demonolatry. Occult and esoteric sources are rather complex and nuanced and one shouldn't dwell within them unless one is devoted to doing proper research on the matter.

That being said, we have to make it very clear: We find depictions of the demonic entities in titles such as Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss to be full of incessantly boring and ridiculous tropes, unoriginal, repetitive, and rather plain. None of them represent any of the well-known and documented traits typical of Goetian demons, at least as extant texts allow us to see.

This lies more in the area of ethics, yet it is rather known that Goetian spirits, demons, or entities, what have you, are part of larger religious topics. A lot of them root in or correlate to different Semitic entities and deities. Vivienne, alongside her delirious fanbase, treating those as mere characters of fiction she created is a rather bizarre case of elevating a creator where they don't, perhaps, belong.

Misrepresentation of Goetian demons is not new to modern media, but these specific titles take it to such an extent where calling it "artistic interpretation" is impossible. Vivienne is working with source material that gives vivid visual depictions for each demonic entity and yet she is not capable of creating a design that is not a caricature and a personality concept that is not a mockery, plain and true.
