as a child, modern dany was given a dragon plushie by willem darry, and she counts it as one of her most prized possessions. honestly, it's a miracle that, between moving from place-to-place, this gift was never lost, but usually, the little dragon was the first thing she reached for whenever it was time to go elsewhere. that plushie is all faded, patched up, and missing an eye (she hasn't the heart to replace it); despite that, she loves it, for it offered her comfort as a child and acted as a physical tie to the only true home she's known. now, it sits in an armchair in her bedroom. when she misses the house with the red door or feels like she is suffocating beneath some soul-crushing loneliness, she hugs it close.

random modern thoughts about dany are rumbling around in my head:

if you have a hobby or interest that you bring up to dany, she will insist on doing it with you at least once, and she'll go all out with it, dedicating an entire portion of the day to it. if she invites you over for it, she'll ask for a list of supplies or items needed, so she can go shopping for everything, and she'll make an accompanying meal!

dany loves going out just as much as she enjoys staying in, and she can be quite spontaneous when it comes to throwing plans together. she loves helping people get ready for a night out, and she'll often have everyone over for a massive getting-ready/pre-game session at her home. speaking of going out, dany is a fantastic dancer and dance partner. can hit a devastating wine and drop it like there's no tomorrow. and yes, she does mouth the words to her favorite songs. dany hits a dance floor and will stay on it all night because the dancing makes her feel free.

she also loves hosting sleepovers at her place with all her friends and loved ones, transforming her living room into a giant bedroom with snacks and movies and self-care materials and blankets and pillows. sometimes, she'll even buy matching pajamas for everyone, and she's constantly taking pictures throughout the night to capture the memories and immortalize them.

although her childhood was filled with rapid flights from city-to-city, the long rides/drives provided a lulling sense of comfort; she found some joy in staring out the windows of buses and trains and cars and seeing the world beyond. as an adult, dany loves going on roadtrips/taking long drives; if she needs to clear her head, she'll often go on a long drive (or walk, too).

she enjoys rollerskating because it makes her feel like she's flying, and speaking of flying, she randomly decided to get her pilot's license.

look, in modern, dany may not be the best texter. she will, ofc, react to your messages, send emojis to show what she thinks, but at her core, she is someone who wants to put as much attention/effort into her replies as possible! her days are often packed, whether it's working on cases, arguing in court, managing things that come up for her as a board member for her family's company (as well as numerous organizations dedicated to social impact), and all the diplomacy in between. so if you text her during the day, it'll probably be a mix of all those responses above and a message to let you know that she will definitely be offering an actual reply later on, peppered with funny pictures of herself when she's bored at work. in the evening is when she will respond with her full thoughts. but also, if you call her, she's dropping everything to give you her absolute attention.

In modern verses/aus, Daenerys has a rather extensive camera collection, and she will often carry a little film camera around when she's spending time with those dear to her. You see, Daenerys has very few pictures of herself growing up and of her family. She can take pictures on her phone, but it just doesn't feel the same as holding the picture, as reveling in the tangibility of a relic while the memory unfolds in her mind. She'll often take candid pictures, but she also really enjoys taking what she calls "portraits" of her loved ones, which are more posed, more focused on the one person as they would like to be captured. Dany's house is filled with photos of her friends and photos of herself with friends. In verses/aus where her family is alive, she has a million pictures of her family!
