“ i’ve cried pints of tears. ” to marguerite from ella @encntada
"Crying will not change anything," Marguerite had learned that lesson at a very young age. It was long past time Ella learned the same.

"You have reached too high." forrrrr her fraternal twin sister marguerite? 👀 @mxdam
Marguerite glared at her sister. They may share blood and a bond few understood, but in this moments, their differences could not be more plain.
"Perhaps you've reached too low, Sister. Have you ever considered that?"

Marguerite rolled her eyes at the display of emotion from her stepdaughter.
So dramatic.
"It is long past time you learned the ways of the world. Nothing in this God forsaken world is given freely, and one must do what they must in order to survive. I married your father to save my daughters, his death has left us destitute once again, and trapped in this backwater. Be grateful that I have been kind enough to provide you food and a place to rest your head, the law only states that your late father's worldly goods go to me as his widow. I have no obligation to provide for his child, especially when there is no will to speak of."
Marguerite scoffed. If she hadn't been certain that Ella was a stupid naive child, she was certain now.
There was no love between Marguerite and Ella's father. Their marriage had been born of obligation, life was not a fairy tale, and if Marguerite was going to miss anyone, it was going to be Francis.
"I barely knew the man."
