Eventually they were going to run out of people to kill, eight kills per demon in a room full of fiends meant that not everyone was going to be able to make it to the end. When there weren't that many mortals left to menace, that's when things were really going to get interesting.

Words spoken with intimacy and so to avoid vulnerability, she keeps emotion out of her voice -- it's soft enough, she doesn't need to let the full extent of her affection color her voice. Sometimes it feels as if Mazikeen has one foot out the door, that she's here for a good time not a long time and she hates that the more days that they spend together, the deeper Sybella falls and when the severance comes, it will hurt. The idea of seeing her demon with another causes the Greedy to burn with envy long before the damage is done.
