post-script. this is just me word vomiting in attempts of making a yandere fic for my upcoming yandere!thoma fic. this is inspired by meant to be yours from heathers (broadway musical)

as you head inside the master bedroom, you immediately shut the door behind you and lock it, your heart beating fast from what just happened.

“i don’t understand why you’re so worked up over me going out. isn’t it safe for me to go around the vineyard since there aren’t any hilichurls around?” you asked, following diluc around as he walks around the mansion with his eyes on a document.

“i’m not worked up, i simply think you’re much safer here than out there. what if you accidentally got hurt—”

“it’s not like i’ll die from that! i just want to get out for fresh air because i feel so suffocated, can’t you understand that?!”

he lets out a huff and stops talking to you, causing you to clench your fists at his lack of communication. can’t he at least get his eyes off from the document and talk to you?

“your father would’ve been so disappointed if he saw you like this. what would he think if he finds out that you’re treating your partner like this?” you said without a thought crossing your head from the anger fogging up your mind. it’s not fair, why can’t he at least let you explore around the outskirts of dawn winery?! you’re not some pet that will run away from its home the moment it’s outside!

your words pricked diluc’s heart, his eyes slowly widened in disbelief.

“...what did you say?” he asks.

your anger instantly disappears, realizing what you just spat out to your lover. “wh… what?”

diluc’s eyes seems to darken, the small shine that glints in his red-colored orbs disappears. “i said, what did you say to me?”

you slowly took a few steps backwards when you noticed how he walked forward to you, the sounds of your heartbeats grew louder as you felt dread wash over you. you immediately flinched when you felt the wall behind your back. “i.. i didn’t mean it. i-i’m sorry, diluc, really! i… i didn’t know what i was–”

you gasped when he slams his hand against the wall beside your head, you could’ve sworn he cracked the concrete.

the man could only look at you with narrowed eyes, not budging from his position. “you didn’t mean it? is that you sincerely talking or is it just your cowardice i’m talking to right now?”

you couldn’t get the words to come out from your mouth, too stunned to speak. this.. this isn’t the man that you’ve fallen in love with. diluc wasn’t like this back then, right? r..right?

“what, you’re not going to talk to me right now?” he leans in closer to you, causing you to look away and close your eyes shut. make this stop, you don’t want this, you take back everything you just said–

diluc suddenly cups your chin and makes you face him, leaving you no choice but to open your eyes. this was something that could’ve made your heart burst and gain butterflies in your stomach, but this.. this is something that gave you fear. “you’ve been following me for the whole day and tried to talk to me, weren’t you? so come on, speak. what did you just tell me about my father?”

you stayed silent for just a few moments, feeling your lips quiver.

“i.. i don’t know you anymore.” you whispered.

before he could open his mouth and say something, you immediately pushed diluc away and ran away, ignoring his calls.

you leaned down against the locked door and sat down on the floor, heavily breathing. what the hell? what was up with your lover back there? was he just stressed from his piled-up work?

you just wanted to get out… he never lets you out..

“y/n,” you flinched when you heard his voice from the other side of the door, knocking on the door. although his voice seemed calm, you knew him long enough to know that he isn’t calm at all – did you really went too far with what you said about his father?

“open the door right now.”

you close your eyes shut as your hands instinctively cover your ears. you know it’s wrong to be so scared of your own lover, but.. whatever diluc is pulling right now, it’s scaring you to death.

suddenly, he stops knocking on the door.

“y/n, open the door please..” he asks in a soft tone. “i…i don’t know what came over me, can you please open the door? i didn’t mean to scare you.”

he’s lying.

you stayed silent in response. this was truly a mistake, you should’ve left him alone.

“can we not fight anymore, y/n..? please?”

a part of you just wants to open the door and let diluc in, but a part of you rationally tells you to be quiet and hope that he’ll leave you alone to let off some steam.

despite having your ears covered, you could hear the sounds of shuffling behind the door.

“y/n, i know you’re scared right now and i’m sorry for that. can’t you…” he stays quiet for a moment before letting out a sigh. you could imagine him leaning his forehead against the door from the other side. “can’t you just let me make up? i didn’t know what came over me and i let my anger took control.”

you continued to stay silent, opening your eyes from the sounds of the wind, causing you to notice how the curtains starts moving with the wind that comes from one of the window that’s opened, it’s as though barbatos has made his presence known to you.

out of sudden bravery and just desperation in wanting this to be over, you spoke to the man in a soft but firm tone. “…no.”

it was only a few seconds of silence before you realized you have made another mistake.

“fine,” he said, the soft tone that could’ve made you open the door for him has long disappeared, only to be replaced by a darker tone that instantly gave you chills down to your spine.

“i’ll count to three and that door better open.”

“New campaign on the 26th boys.” Eddie announced as Mike, Dustin and Lucas sat down at the table. Dustin awkwardly chuckled, that caught Eddie's attention. “What is it henderson?” he asked as he ate the pretzel’s he had packed for his lunch. “Well um..I won’t be able to go” Mike and Lucas looked at him confused. “If you don’t have a ride I could pick you up!” Gareth offered but Dustin shook his head at him.

“It’s not that. An old friend is coming into town!” Mike and Lucas realized who Dustin was talking about “Really?” Dustin nodded at mike.

“So let me get this straight, you can’t attend the campaign because a friend is coming into town?” Eddie stood up and walked over to Dustin, who just nodded at eddie. “Fine, Well get a sub for you!” Eddie looked at Dustin as he walked back to his seat at the head of the lunch table. “It’s up to you if you miss someone coming back from the portal!” Eddie teases which made Dustin groan and sink into his seat as the rest of his friends went nuts about the hint Eddie dropped about the upcoming campaign.

A Week Later

“Please Mom! It will just be a couple hours!” Dustin begged as he set the table for three people. “Sorry dusty but it’s y/n’s first night back from being with your father in michigan and i’m sure she would like to see you.” Dustin nodded his head and sat down at the table.

An hour had gone by, Dustin perked up from the couch as he saw headlights coming through the front window. “Y/N! She’s here!” Dustin quickly got up and ran outside, where you grabbed your luggage from the back of a friend’s car. “Dusty!” you dropped the suitcase in your hands and ran over and hugged dustin. “You’ve grown since I last saw you!” you laughed as you both squeezed each other.

After a mini reunion in the front yard, your mom had Dustin help you carry your luggage into your old bedroom, it looked like just as you left it, posters of actors you loved, empty cans of coke, an opened seventeen magazine. “Like I never left!” you smiled and put your bags on your bed. Dustin came into the room carrying four bags, two on each arm. He accidentally tripped over a shoe left out and fell on the floor.

“Thanks for your help dustin!” you smiled as you helped him up. “It’s no problem!” you studied his shirt “What’s hellfire club?” you asked him as you walked over to your bed and pulled out a wrapped box. “It’s my dnd club! Mike and Lucas are in it too!” you smiled at the mention of his friends. “What’s the box?” he asked as you handed it to him. “I hoped you still played or else these would be useless!” He unwrapped the box to reveal custom made dice. “These are sick y/n! Where did you get me!” he asked as he looked at the sides.

“I know someone! I also made some for mike, lucas and will but I already shipped will his!” you smiled and pulled out the other boxes from your bag.

“These would’ve been badass to use tonight!” Dustin said as he acted like he was gonna roll them. “What’s tonight? Are the boys coming over to play?” he shook his head. “Tonight was gonna be a continuation of the last campaign.” you looked at him confused as you both walked towards the kitchen. “Why are you here then? Oh I think I know, mom?” he nodded as he sat down across from you, “When do you guys usually start?” Dustin looked at his watch then back up at you. “They would be starting in 30 minutes.” you quickly looked over and saw your mom preparing the food for dinner later that night.

“Just go along with it!” he nodded and followed you to the kitchen. “Mom, could I take Dustin to his dnd club tonight?” You smiled at her.

“I thought all three of us could catch up together!” she said as she peeled potatoes. “With all the letters I sent Dustin I'm sure he knows how I've been! Plus I kinda wanted a mother daughter type night! It’ll be quick I promise.” she sighed and smiled at the two of you. “Alright he can go!” you smiled and grabbed the keys to the car. “I’ll even pick him up after!” you yelled as you ran down the hall and grabbed the gifts for mike and lucas before running out the front door. Dustin quickly grabbed his stuff and followed you out the door.

“How did you do that?” He asked as you both got in and buckled up. “I don’t know, special older sister magic I guess!” You smiled as he applauded you. You just laughed and started to drive to Hawkins high.

As you pulled into the parking lot you noticed someone standing on the sidewalk. “Oh there’s lucas.” You put the car in park quickly and got out. “Y/n?” you smiled and walked over to Lucas and hugged him. “I heard you made the basketball team! As a late congrats, here is a gift!” you smiled and pulled the small box out of your jacket pocket. “You didn’t have too!” he said as he opened the box and saw the dice.

You heard talking going on behind you, you turned around and spotted a familiar BMW.

“Harrington?” You asked as you watched Mike get out of the car. “What?” he did a double look before recognizing you. “Henderson!” He parked his car behind yours and quickly got out and ran over to you. “When did you get in?” he asked as he gave you a side hug. “Just tonight actually, mom is waiting for me to go back and catch up with her.” you smiled at him. Before turning to mike.

“Here mike!” you tossed the box at him. “What is it?” he asked as he looked at the wrapping. “Just look.” He opened up the box and smiled at the dice. “These are cool, y/n!” you smiled at his reaction. “Hey guys!” The boys greeted Gareth and jeff. “Oh Jeff, Gareth, this is my older sister, Y/n!” you smiled and shook their hands.

 “I gotta get going! I have work tomorrow!” Steve excused himself and made his way to his car 

“You work! I never thought I would see the day!” you teased him, he jokingly flipped you off as he got in his car. “Well I also gotta go so bye boys! It was nice meeting you two!” you smiled and got in your car, “OH Y/N, DON’T RIDE THE CURB AGAIN!” Steve yelled as he drove by you. “I drive on the curb one time and never live it down!” you smiled and flipped Steve off as he drove in front of you.

“Do any of you guys know them?” Eddie asked as he stood behind everyone. The group yelled, being scared by Eddie's sudden appearance. “Um yeah. The BMW was Steve and the volo was Dustin's sister.” Lucas said as they all started to walk into the clubroom.

“You have a sister henderson?” Eddie asked somewhat shocked about hearing about Dustin's older sister for the first time. “Yeah, she went with our dad to live in michigan.” Dustin thought nothing about Eddie asking questions about you.

Four hours Later

You sighed as you looked at your watch again. “The campaign should be over by now.”

You leaned against your headrest and waited for 30 minutes before parking the car and got out and went inside the school. You read the signs to each room carefully, making sure you didn’t miss it. You finally found their clubroom.

Through the window you saw they were cleaning up, you sighed and sat across from the clubroom door and waited. “Hey y/n, what are you doing out here?” Steve asked as he walked around the corner and saw you sitting there against the lockers waiting. “Waiting for Dustin to get out.” you smiled and played with your nails. Mike soon came out of the clubroom, Steve and Mike wished you a goodnight before leaving.

Jeff, Gareth and Lucas did the same as they all left the clubroom one by one.

You sighed and stood up from the floor and walked in the room.

"Dustin, are you ready to go? I wanna get a cherry slushie from seven-!" You cut yourself off as you noticed dustin wasn't alone in the room. "Sorry I thought it was just dustin. I'm y/n, his sister!" You walked over to the pair.

Eddie chuckled at Dustin's face of confusion . "I'm Eddie, I'm Hellfire's leader." Eddie smiled at you. "Nice to meet you eddie." You smiled and held your hand out to shake his.

Eddie shocked you a bit by kissing the back of your hand. You felt red and flustered "Um, Dustin I'll be outside, take your time!" You excused yourself out and quickly ran out the room.

"Is y/n dating that harrington guy?" Eddie asked Dustin as he collected his stuff. "She thinks Steve is like an older brother so no, why?" Dustin quickly picks up what Eddie meant by it. "Oh don't think about it, she's my sister eddie!" Dustin pleaded.

You paced around outside while waiting. Finally Dustin came walking out with his stuff in his hand, Eddie shortly behind him. You started to walk to the car. “Henderson, wait up!” Eddie said, making both you and Dustin stop in your tracks and turn to face eddie.

Eddie quickly made his way over to you. Dustin had a look of horror on his face, he quickly ran over to the two of you. “Dustin, go sit in the car, I'll be right there.” you turned to Dustin before looking back at eddie. “But y/n!” you gave him a pleading look, dusting groaned and walked to the car and got in and watched you and Eddie through the rolled up window.

“Sorry about him. He’s weird at times!” you apologized which made eddie chuckle. “It’s alright I actually have the title of Eddie ‘the freak’ Munson here at school so it's alright I guess.” he smiled at you. “I’m sorry for holding Dustin longer than the others.” he apologized “It’s alright eddie.”

Eddie opened his mouth to talk but was cut off by Dustin knocking on the car window then tapping his watch. “Oh sorry Eddie but I gotta take Dustin home but I hope I'll see you around?” you said as you slowly walked backwards to the car. 

“You will henderson! Have a goodnight.” he smiled at you as you got in the car and drove back to your house.

Eddie sighed as he got into the driver’s seat in his van. He looked at the time and saw it was 7. He smiled at the idea he had and quickly started the van and drove out of the high school  parking lot.

“Y/n you CAN’T date my club’s leader! It’ll just be weird!” Dustin ranted to you while you hung up some shirts in the closet. “Why not dusty, you have a girlfriend so why can’t I?” you questioned, Dustin opened his mouth but closed it when he couldn’t find an excuse. “Ha! You ran out of excuses!” you pointed at him with a smirk on your face. Dustin just groaned and walked out of your room and straight to his.

You laughed and changed into your pajamas. As you pulled your bed duvet you heard knocking on the front door. You thought nothing of it and continued to fix your bed for your liking.

The knocking kept going, you decided to take one for the team and opened up the door and was slightly shocked to see Eddie standing there. “Eddie? How do you know where I live?” you asked a bit wary, you knew about the upside down, the demogorgon, the mind flayer, the truth as to what had happened the year before, dustin wrote you letters about everything when you asked him about the supposed mall fire. 

So it scared you a bit to see Eddie at your home, you heard about how Billy hargrove, max’s step brother got possessed by the mind flayer.

“Sometimes I drop Dustin off, and I assume you would also live here since your siblings.” You let out a breath of relief. “What brings you here? Did Dustin forget something?” Eddie smiled and shook his head at you. “I actually brought you something.” Before you could question him you quickly recognized Dustin's footsteps down the hall. “Meet me at the window in the back, It’s the left side!” you quickly and quietly shut the door on eddie before he could question you.

“Who was at the door?” Dustin asked as he walked to the fridge. “Oh someone was looking for their dog.” he nodded at you and said goodnight and walked back to his room for the night.

You quickly ran to your room and moved your curtains and saw Eddie standing there, looking around your window where you had a mini garden of flowers. “Sorry about that!” you apologized as you opened your window and felt the cold night’s air. Eddie chuckled.

“You said you brought me something? What is it exactly?” you question. Eddie perks up and quickly knelt down and picked something up and handed it to you. You looked at the cup he handed you before you realized what it was. “A slushie?” you smiled at him.

“You told Dustin you wanted to get one but since I kept Dustin back, I decided to get you one myself.” you smiled at eddie as he handed you a straw hand in his jacket. “Well thank you!” you opened the straw and took a sip of the slushie.

“Um y/n, would you like to get a slushie with me sometime?” he asked as he looked down and swirled his blue raspberry slushie around. “If it’s a date i will!” you smiled at him. He quickly looked up at you and nodded. “If that’s what you want henderson.” you leaned against your window seal. “I’m free tomorrow night.” you smiled at eddie. “I’ll come and get you, same time as tonight?” he asked, you nodded in response.

“I’ll see you then y/n!” He smiled and made his way back to his car, once he turned the corner and knew you couldn’t see him he punched the air and smiled all the way to his car.

 Bonus:

Your date with Eddie was a success. The next morning your lips were still stained by the cherry flavoring syrup. Dustin knew you went out the previous night so he thought nothing of it. It wasn’t till Eddie knocked at the front door to pick Dustin up that he connected the dots. 

Eddie hadn’t noticed a little red lip stain on his jaw till Dustin was screaming about it, thankfully Ms Henderson was already at work. “YOU BOTH WENT OUT!” you stared at eddie from the dining room table, he did the same from the doorway. It was gonna be a long day at school for Eddie, and a long night at home for you.
