so if you dont use hoyolab, it keeps track of how many days you been friends w your mutuals, and i just happened to hit 100 days w this lovely trio of ppl, so i decided to draw our artsonas to commemorate the occasion. the one w the funky star glasses is Kinoh, i took the liberty of un-furring her fursona lol. then the one whose face im squishing is Mak, and the one w the tea tag earring is ofc Tea (tho her artsona is named Giji, as the katakana says on her earring). they are my hoyo-nieces, hence my gay aunt shirt ^^

semi-formal intro to my(?) new au: the Reinhold Mystery Journey AU!!

based directly from @dearesthershel's (not so glowing) video essay on LMJ, i wanted to really take the idea and try and run with it!! details under cut~

RMJ officially takes place 16 years after the events of Unwound/Lost Future, Flora Layton Reinhold is a relatively well-known detective making rounds as following in her guardian's footsteps as a brilliant mystery solver. A now 32 year old Flora (formally known as Detective Layton by her peers, Flory by her 14 year-old sister Katrielle), having opened her office a year after UF/LF, is being given her assignments by the Chief Constable and soon-to-be Commissioner of the Yard, Barton.

Joining her is her assistant and now world-renowned journalist, Emmy Altava! Now 43, she's mellowed out quite a bit since the Azran Legacy (though she still hits and hits HARD). Summoned to Flora's side by an unknown individual, she vows to help the good detective however she can, either intellectually... or percussively.

Together, they're thrown into a myriad of cases dredging up places and faces both old and new, as each mystery resolved leads them ever closer to the cold case of the mysterious disappearances of the Professor and his blue-clad assistant years ago...

I made a potholder! But this isn't any old potholder, it's my reconstruction of a potholder my great grandma made in the 40s.

My potholder is made with cotton yarn so it won't melt like her acrylic yarn has, and I didn't use rubber Mason jar rings as the basis of my rings like she did. The green and orange is her original potholder.

As you can see, it's been though some things and the rubber rings on the inside are starting to degrade to the point where I'm uncomfortable handling it.

This was my first time making a pattern from someone else's finished object and I had a lot of fun. I'm sure my great grandma used a published pattern, but I couldn't find one on APL or on Ravelry.

I've put the pattern up on my Ravelry store for free if anyone is interested. It's not pattern tested or anything, so be aware of that.

the circular nature of orv really is crazy though because from the very beginning the only reason kim dokja survived his suicide attempt was because the characters he loved loved him back even though they didnt exist yet. do you hear me. hsy only got sent to the past because the story existed and the story loved kim dokja so much they decided to make the epilogue an attempt to save him. and kim dokja only lived and read the story because the story didnt want another reader. it wanted kim dokja to survive. and kim dokja wanted to survive for the story. its all a circle. orv is a circle its a time loop but its all love. its all sacrificial love do you people hear me is this thing on kim dokja loves the story enough to kill himself for the narrative and the narrative loves him enough to start all over again if it means theres a chance of saving him. this story is all for that one reader = this story loves that one reader. please its so dark in here
