To say the two had had a long day would be an understatement. It wasn't every day that Rin got to go out and witness the battlefield firsthand, let alone strike down a person by his own sword. It had shaken him a bit, and of course Mikaela had managed to pick up on that on his own. Though, anyone close to the boy easily could have sensed the same thing had they seen the look in his eyes when they stood amongst the carnage.

Why was he the only one bothered by the senseless killing happening on both sides of this war?

As he was dragged back into their shared home, Rin's gaze was stuck to the ground. He seemed almost numb. That was, until he heard Mika's voice breaking him from his dazed state. Shifting to look at his father, the boy just offered a slow nod before he sank down into a nearby chair. Despite Mika's efforts to cheer his son up, Rin was still out of it, even when the warm meal his father had prepared for him was set down on the table.

When he'd finally managed to collect his thoughts, Rin looked to Mikaela as he opened his mouth to speak. However, he paused briefly, before shaking his head slightly and casting his gaze aside. "...Papa, I don't understand," he finally managed to mutter out, "why... why is there so many people okay with just murdering one another in cold blood? Those soldiers that died today... They had loved ones waiting for them to return home, they had lives to go back to, and yet now..."

"What was it all for...?"

His words caught her by surprise, but she should have expected as much from the other. After all, they were in a similar situation. Feeling herself sigh, she directed her gaze towards her nephew as she offered a smile. "You're right, Hiro. I believe you should listen to your own advice, after all it applies to you just as much as it applies to myself."

Never having seen the strange material being placed into his bare hand, Rin furrowed his brows just slightly as a smile formed on his features. Lifting his gaze to meet Mika's as he listened intently on what he was being instructed on, the boy allowed the other to move him as he wanted. "What happens if I miss my target?" He inquired as he craned his neck back to look at his father.

It was such a suffocating feeling watching people die in front of you, especially when the violent images of your old squad being torn apart because of you are flashing through your mind. To watch it happen again, despite it not being her squad directly, it caused those memories to flash before her eyes. Stumbling back as they finished their fight, Mitsuba dropped to the ground as her knees gave out beneath her.

There was a ringing in her ears as her vision blurred, she hadn't realized just how rapidly she was breathing until she felt hands firmly grasping her shoulders. Gasping in a harsh breath, the blonde focused her gaze to meet Yuu's. It took her a moment to realize what he was saying to her, but once she'd realized everyone in their small squad-- their family-- was relatively unharmed, she finally started to take in a few deep breaths.

"I--" she paused before she sucked in a deep breath, shakily pushing it out before lifting her violet gaze to meet his of emerald once more, "I'm sorry, I-I don't know what came over me. We should keep going-- don't let me stop our progress."

It wasn't often Elizabeth had found herself wandering alone at an extravagant ball-- she'd normally had her fiancée attached to her arm, so she was evidently a little lost. As she'd found herself by the dessert table, scanning over all the pretty little cakes as she'd hoped for Ciel's return soon, she noticed her gaze fixed on someone standing nearby. Gasping quietly as she caught herself staring, the blonde quickly averted her gaze just in time for the other to notice her.

Letting out a little squeak in surprise and embarrassment as she was promptly called out by the other, she moved a hand to cover one of her now reddening cheeks as she lifted her gaze once more. A nervous giggle played at her lips as she reached her other hand to play with the broach placed at her chest.

"A-Ah! I wasn't thinking anything ill of you, I assure you! I was just admiring your attire, it's simply adorable, I just--.... I apologize for staring at you, I was just going to come ask who your seamstress may be, I was considering getting a new dress made and I just simply love the style of your clothes."

There was a breath of silence as the girl thought about their conversation and how she'd cut it short. Part of her yearned for his statement to be true-- to actually hold some weight to it. Yet, the other part of her knew deep down that she was just another pawn in the military's end game, and somehow the Lieutenant Colonel was involved in it. Perhaps, even in the same way she was. Was he but a pawn as well?

Lifting her gaze to meet his, Shinoa offered an almost somber smile as she placed her hands on her hips, "That isn't true by the Hiiragi family's standards, anyway. But, of course, I know that's the way you really feel, isn't it? Otherwise you wouldn't have said it. Admit it, you love your adorable, would have been, little sister." Her tone was over the top as she placed a hand on her chest, trying to hide what she was truly thinking behind her smile as she normally had.

Taking a few moments after hearing the knock on the door followed by the other's question, Ochako reached to open the door as she shakily breathed out. Looking down as she tried her best not to feel sick once more, she took another moment before finally speaking,

"Yeah... I... I think that it might have been that discounted sushi from the supermarket. I knew it had to have been pushing its expiration date..." Her voice was shaky as she shook, clearly due to how upset her stomach was feeling and making her feel.

A battle was never something someone should look forward to. In fact, the young heroes had been through an array of battles that seemed to be nearly nonstop since the beginning of their schoolyear, so it was natural they'd want to celebrate their victories whenever they might have one.

As Ochako made her way through the now decimated part of the city, holding her arm as she had injured it just slightly, she'd been searching for her classmates. Soon, a familiar face came into view and her cocoa hues lit up slightly. She'd found herself running towards the other now, a laugh of pure joy escaping from her lips as she threw her arms around the navy haired boy's shoulders.

Moving her face, she gently pressed a kiss to the male's cheek as a few stray tears now rolled down her face, but she wasn't sad. In fact, she was quite the opposite as she kept the other in her arms.

"Tenya! I'm so happy that you're alright!!"

A simple, yet sweet, pun was spoken from the female beside him as they walked alongside each other to one of their favourite cafes. Glancing towards her and offering the gentlest of smiles, the male offered a hand to his wife. "Yes, you mean quite a lot to me too, Yor."

Attacks from villains were never easy, especially considering the fact that the young heroes were all barely 16 years old and the attacks were becoming all too common. Well, of course, that's what happens when you get dragged into a war that you had no business taking part of.

The goal during this particular encounter was to simply not get split up by the enemy and yet that's exactly where the blonde found himself. None of his comrades were nearby, which happened to stir something within him, almost like an anxiety that he wasn't really sure where it came from or what he needed to do with it. So, he decided his best course of action was to redirect that energy into attacking his opponents.

However, something caught the corner of his gaze from across the battlefield which caused him to drop his current foe to the ground. As he launched himself across the field with his quirk, the blonde was soon in between a familiar brunette and one of the villains that was about to deal a rather violent blow to the gravity wielding hero. As he caused a reactionary explosion in the person's face, Katsuki watched as they were sent flying away from the two as he snapped his gaze back at the other.

"Are you okay, Round Cheeks? You didn't get separated too, did you?"

Of course he was most likely just being framed by someone in the class that didn't like him all that much--probably that Becky girl that was always hanging around Anya. All he knew for certain was that he wasn't the one that would stoop to such a level.

"Anyways, I don't need to cheat. I do all the studying I'm s'pose to do."

Cold winter days in Japan were always ones for the record books, Ochako could swear they were seemingly colder and colder as each new day passed by. Of course, it wasn't as if the actual school building was too far away from their shared housing, so they often found themselves having class within their shared living space. As the brunette took her normal seat on one of the sofas, a friendly face soon sat down beside her which caused a bright smile to appear on her features. However, she was holding her hands together in her lap, almost as if in an attempt to keep them warm.

As she was lost in thought about what they could possibly be learning in class that day, she found something warm now gently grasping one of her hands. When the realization hit her, she felt her eyes grow a little wide as her face began to slowly flush in response. Tracing her gaze back to the navy haired boy at her side, she felt a bit choked up, almost a bit too nervous to speak as she said,

"Tenya? W-What's this for?"

The boy had never seen the death of a human being before, he'd often heard it being described by the elder but never had it actually happened before his eyes. Watching as one of the higher ranks sucked a human soldier dry, Rin felt his skin turning pale, he felt stunned. That was until he heard a familiar voice from beside him giving him an order.

"But they just killed that human with absolutely no remorse! I thought one of the squadron's direct orders was to not kill any of the humans unless absolutely necessary. That didn't seem necessary to me, how can you be okay with such cruelty?" There was a pain in the boy's voice. That was one thing that seperated him from the other vampires-- he didn't lack empathy. Perhaps that came as a part of his experiment, but Rin was grateful to be able to experience such feelings.

"Are you trying to tell me that I shouldn't care about what just happened simply because it happened to a human? What if that was that Yuuichiro you always tell me about that they'd just killed? You wouldn't be so uncaring then, would you? What if they decided to do that to me next? I mean, after all, it's not as if I'm fully a vampire, y'know? Forget the mission, I can't just sit by and watch this pointless massacre!"
