The boy had never seen the death of a human being before, he'd often heard it being described by the elder but never had it actually happened before his eyes. Watching as one of the higher ranks sucked a human soldier dry, Rin felt his skin turning pale, he felt stunned. That was until he heard a familiar voice from beside him giving him an order.

"But they just killed that human with absolutely no remorse! I thought one of the squadron's direct orders was to not kill any of the humans unless absolutely necessary. That didn't seem necessary to me, how can you be okay with such cruelty?" There was a pain in the boy's voice. That was one thing that seperated him from the other vampires-- he didn't lack empathy. Perhaps that came as a part of his experiment, but Rin was grateful to be able to experience such feelings.

"Are you trying to tell me that I shouldn't care about what just happened simply because it happened to a human? What if that was that Yuuichiro you always tell me about that they'd just killed? You wouldn't be so uncaring then, would you? What if they decided to do that to me next? I mean, after all, it's not as if I'm fully a vampire, y'know? Forget the mission, I can't just sit by and watch this pointless massacre!"
