For someone who considers herself so holy it's not often she shows her face at church . She considers herself above Putty's sermons . That didn't stop her from making the odd appearance to keep the reverend on his toes .
And low and behold his reaction tells it all . THAT sermon wasn't for her ears , lest it be condemned to Hell itself by her moral sanctions .
Compliments are wasted on the already grey woman , she folds her arms .
❝ I see your sermons are still as immoral as ever . Can you credence to this ordure , Reverend Putty ? ❞ She's sneering , absolutely grinning and relishing in this on the inside . She'd take a stab at @rvrend any chance she could get . What farce it was that Moralton should elect him the holy man . No matter it was her job to knock him down a peg when he got too comfortable with spilling his own ideals for whatever benefited him this week . / 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐝 .

this was left on the desk of the library ( along with a 5 dollar bill and a dime. )
❝ Hm , what's this ? ❞ Ah a bribe . How flattering ! Not quite flattering enough , however . ❝ bribes won't work here , Putty . ❞ She holds the card up , not this sort of bribe at least .
❝ Oh , well another one for the cleansing flames ! ❞

oh yes ... the whole Censordoll ' being a witch thing ' , I'd like to think if the show continued they wouldn't follow down with that route because , for me , it underplays other character's actions having Fran somehow responsible for certain events . As for having ' mind control powers ' I think it's less ' mind control ' more ' manipulation ' she knows everyone in town's weakness and she exploits it . Orel lacks affection therefore showing him even an ounce of affection has him right where she needs him .
She uses Clay's weaknesses against him in the show and everyone in town is so afraid of her that she can threaten them easily . I don't think she'd have to be a witch to do that ! It's far better if she's has no powers , merely an obsession with control with the little Moralton replica she has made in her home and she spies on everyone lives simply to seek out their weaknesses so she can eventually take control . It's a hobby of hers to act out possible events with the replica or at least move the little figures where the towns folk should be individually at any given time . A sort of playing God if you will but not literally being God .
So not a witch though people in town may view her as one.

@closedface 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐂𝐑𝐈𝐁𝐄𝐃 : you’re completely out of your element here, aren’t you? ( for ms. censordoll! )
* ― 𝑭𝑶𝑹𝑻𝒀 𝑹𝑨𝑵𝑫𝑶𝑴 𝑸𝑼𝑬𝑺𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵𝑺.
She is out of her element on this one . Not that she's willing to admit it just yet !
❝ Bah ! Don't speak with such confidence , scab ! The only reason why I haven't picketed your filthy , cesspool of an establishment yet is because you know to lay down low on your belly like a serpent from Hell . ❞
She sputters each word , laced with tested tempers , though she knows she's been caught somewhere she ought to have not been . This one time she had let something slip , she cannot so easily allow it to happen again .
❝ Away with you , heathen . This is business . Mine , not yours . ❞

Something shifts within Fran , she's not letting up that's for certain . More biding her time , arms folded , she shifts her weight to one side .
Thinking before one speaks was hardly worthy of a medal if anything for the dear old reverend it was about time he thought at all . As far as she's concerned .
Her nose upturned , expression just a hint of sour .
❝ I ❞ She emphasizes ❝ am not the one the boy looks to for guidance . ❞ She gestures to the Reverend now , a sneer as her finger probes him in the chest . ❝ YOU are . ❞ A knowing turn of the head , she moves her hand away from him .
❝ Not even the boy's father has that kind of leverage on him as of late . The election was testament to that fading bond . ❞
Even still , she was growing more and more sceptical that whatever change had undergone the boy after his father shattered not only his knee but his trust ; seems to be having a domino effect . Small changes to be sure , as the reverend said himself he is beginning to think more . That could be detrimental to her plans . Ignorance was an ally . Open minds were not . How long before Moralton undergoes more of these ' small changes ' ?
Sharp as ever she snaps her head back into his direction once more . ❝ It is a pity that Orel has yet to respect me the way he respects you of all people . You are not nurturing , unfit to take care of yourself let alone the boy . THINK about that next time you try to point your finger in my direction , Putty . So from now on I do the thinking and you just stick to your half-brained sermons . ❞
his face falls from nerves to defensiveness as she continues her remarks. eyes flit to the side, annoyed, but ultimately knowing that yet again she was right. that, of course, only served to annoy him further. arms fold in retaliation of hers and he straightens his posture to pose false confidence, fingers tapping against his arm.
" hey, look, at least i'm trying here. half the time i actually think before i speak ! "
while that would be an insult to most, it's an improvement in his eyes. he knew well that he'd been part of the reason said boy has been led astray and wrought havoc on their town on multiple occasions, but it wasn't the reverend's fault orel took everything so literally !
though, perhaps, it was his fault he'd made so many careless remarks in the past just so he'd leave him alone ...
" orel's just a kid, he doesn't know any better. it's not like you've been imprinting anything good on him. " less of a statement of taking responsibility for his influence over orel's mishaps, but moreso shifting blame onto her. whether or not such an action was wise remains to be said.

She has a way with words alright , and she knows it . It's why she uses them , to intimidate self-conceited pustules like him . She takes great pleasure in knocking him off of his pedestal .
Still as stone faced as she was before she scoffs , a disapproving curve in her lip . Despite her exterior she's actually having a great time .
❝ Be that as it may . Your ' JOKES ' are the fruit of most of injurious marks inflicted on our way of life , Putty . ❞ She cocks a brow .
❝ You more than anyone should know that your sermons lead a one young Puppington astray . - He thinks rather highly of you for some reason , believes every word that so desperately crawls out of your putrid mouth , I'm sure you have noticed , hm ? ❞ Folding her arms , she awaits his response . ❝ It would be a shame if I deemed this church immoral and a detriment not just to our community but in the eyes of God as well ! ❞
boy, that woman's got a way with words. he's half a mind to ask fran to speak in layman's terms, but luckily the other half a mind stops him before he makes a bigger fool of himself. fingers fiddle as he sweats, hand waving her concerns aside. of all sermons to attend, that certainly hadn't painted him in the best light ( though really, do they ever ? )
" oh, that ? ah - hi was just, uh ... just joking around with the congregation ! everyone likes a good laugh here and there, yeah ? "
she's got him pinned like a bug, never failing to make him squirm, cracking his usual overconfidence in what he preaches. no matter what he does, censordoll always manages to have the upper hand, and she well knows it. a shrug as he jokes with the humourless woman.
" ... ha ha ? "
