     IT WAS ONLY IN MOMENTS such as these - moments untouched by another soul - that erias dared to lift the veil upon a blemish unlike any other. where eyes of violet once gleamed, a sunken, bloody hollow was all that remained in the wake of his greatest, everlasting folly. behind closed doors would he tend to it, washing bloodied cloth and cleansing would-be irritation and infection. on this particular evening had a lapse in regimen occurred however, the entrance to his personal quarters left unbarred and unchecked. it seemed inevitable, then, that an unwarranted guest should interrupt these grisly, diaphanous procedures, clearly unaware of his presence prior to entering.

     the reaction was immediate and callous, instinctively glancing over a shoulder and inadvertently granting them the slightest glimpse of a visage horrifically sullied - one no longer concealed from prying eyes - before hastily flinging his hand forth to radiate lurid, blinding light. if successful, this reflexive assault would temporarily ravage their own vision, condemning them to flounder a void white and endless until erias had once more managed to obscure the mangled features they had, for the briefest of moments, bore unfortunate witness to. even so, the cleric appeared anything but appeased, awaiting the effects of his spell to wear off before chastising with arms firmly crossed, “hmph! hast thou no regard for one’s privacy?”
