       " i do enjoy the taste of pineapple. honestly, if it has a tropical feel, it ends up being a favorite of mine, " he admitted. eyes were shot back at the menu as the line started to move a little more. gabriel had to make his mind up, or he would end up holding the line up, and that was the last thing he wanted to do. “It just tastes like pineapple,” Julian said with a shrug. The green color of the veggie smoothies had put him off them for a long time, but they became a regular thing for him now that he knew they just tasted like whatever fruit went with it. And it felt like the healthier choice, especially on weeks like this when he was eating like trash. Julian had almost decided on the pineapple spinach, when the guy mentioned the mango strawberry. “Yeah, it does a lot better, doesn’t it,” Julian said thoughtfully, as if he hadn’t been the one to suggest it in the first place. “Oh, you’re from LA?” That made sense. “Are you here on vacation?”

       " pineapple spinach ?? that sounds–– interesting, " he said, not really craving fruit and veggies in one drink. although, he has heard many times that it's better to drink your veggies than eat them. he glanced over at the man again and he nodded when he mentioned mango strawberry. " now mango strawberry sounds like more my cup of tea or in this case, smoothie. " he chuckled. " i might do that. " he laughed at the air quotes. " right, i should have assumed NATURAL was the way here. la likes to be bougie, i guess. "

Julian was still making up his mind when the guy asked for recommendations, so giving them was easy. “I can’t decide. It’ll be a pineapple spinach smoothie, or a mango strawberry—” He finally looked over at him, a bit surprised by the question. “Boba? Not here. They do ‘natural juices,’” he said, doing the air quotes with his fingers, then immediately felt like a jerk for doing it. “They really are natural, though.”
