i realized i made a semi-mistake in that headcanon and feel the need to clarify:

the infection cannot be extracted from someone if both the infection and the person who is infected resists the extraction. it basically has to be like... ok i’m moving somewhere else.

the infection cannot be passed to someone without being let in and the infection choosing what ‘it’ decides is a suitable host. it is a powerful infection once infecting but cannot infect unless the infection is ‘let in’. so, its power is basically useless until the point of legitimate infection, which is why so few people actually get infected. so, as i said, weaker-willed people, people undergoing lots of mental or physical strain, those are people who are prime targets of infection.

which is also why i think that the infection chose michael, a six-year-old boy, because obviously... despite how smart six-year-old boys can be, obviously children would be more susceptible.

people who have the infection can overcome the infection, but will always be infected, even if it is dormant. receiving psychological help is a big part of this, but the person will always be susceptible to getting worse if mental tolls of the infection (i.e., the growing sadism and reduction of empathy that comes with it) are left unchecked.

MUSIC-RELATED HEADCANONS:

[ I’ve been thinking about these for literal weeks and even though it really has no impact on threads or anything I just wanted to share for fun! 

- As some of you are already aware; I headcanon that Kai taught himself how to play piano in middle / high school. It was a way to help focus on something and move his fingers if he was experiencing a particularly bad day for his ADHD and fidgeting. 

- After his mother’s suicide, Kai doesn’t ever play the piano genuinely again. Maybe the occasional playing around with the keys, but no actual songs. 

- Look...Kai doesn’t know how to sing well exactly? However, if he was taught properly and actually tried to attempt to not jokingly or half-assedly do it, there’s a chance he’d be fairly decent.

-  Kai originally wanted to play the drums but his parents were definitely like, “lmao no.”

- ( All songs linked are piano covers for a more accurate depiction. ) A few songs that Kai plays well on piano because of the constant practice of learning them are Hey Jude by the Beatles, Lullaby by Nickelback, and a more difficult song he knows how to play is My Heart Will Go On from Titanic, it was one of his mom’s favorites. ]

𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡 ↳ This was one of her first abilities to develop and the hardest to get a hold on. It's triggered when she has skin to skin contact with someone so she keeps up a mental shield. If the shield slips, she gets flashes of memories/feelings/premonitions; it can be intense if she as unprepared for it and if it's her first time making contact. Bonnie can let down the shield and purposefully feel some ones emotions or even try to look through their mind for information.

She also gets certain feelings based on what the person is. (these are often first contact feelings she gets from them doesn't continue everytime she touches them. Once Bonnie has become familiar her psychic touch leans more towards emotions/memories) Humans are the least intense, emotions the person is feeling in the moment Witches warmth in her palms, feeling the amount of power they have Vampires cold, a twist in her stomach, Werewolves anger, her heart beat increases, jaw tenses Demons Uncomfortable heat spreads throughout her body, hairs raise on her arms, Angels Hairs raise on her arms, eyes feel like they are burning more to come...

📑 Favorite part of your muse’s backstory?

This isn’t really like a specific “part” of his backstory per se, but the difference in personality between pre-failed-rebellion Katsuie and post-failed-rebellion Katsuie cracks me up every time. XD Past!Katsuie is this terribly confident (bordering on overconfident) young man who won’t shut up about how the Oda clan (and especially its leader, Nobunaga) is all-powerful and will one day conquer everything. He also has a huge sense of entitlement, which leads to him later trying to kill his boss (Nobunaga) to try to become king. Not to mention how he feels entitled to another man’s wife, as well. XD Meanwhile, Default!Katsuie…has pretty much given up. Like, on everything. He hardly even speaks, and even when he does, he only makes some sort of creepy yokai-related comment, or he moans about how he’s in despair because of his poor life choices. Past!Katsuie and Default!Katsuie seem like almost completely different characters at times, although they definitely have their similarities —– they’re both envious and greedy people, they both have a huge sense of entitlement when it comes to certain things / people, etc.

📝 Favorite headcanon for your muse?

I was trying to think of a less creepy headcanon, and one that you haven’t heard before, but…the one that I keep thinking about is this one: Modern!Katsuie has a stalker shrine for Oichi hidden in the back of his closet. It has a few framed pictures of her, along with personal items of hers that either she has lost or that Katsuie has taken or copied in some fashion —– e.g. a couple pencils of hers, a home economics sewing project that she made several months ago, a handkerchief that she dropped by accident (Katsuie would clean it later), a copy of her school report from last term, a few hair accessories of hers, etc. Nothing as weird as a half of a sandwich that she ate or her fingernail clippings or something, but still —– they’re all items that Katsuie definitely shouldn’t have in his possession under any circumstances. It’d be interesting to see how Katsuie would react if someone found that stalker shrine someday and confronted him about it, especially if they’re his friend or his lover. XD If Katsuie somehow fell out of love with Oichi and in love with someone else, I can see him dismantling and throwing away the stalker shrine for Oichi, if he ends up in a deep, serious relationship that lasts for at least a few months with the other person. But there’s a big risk that he’ll eventually just end up replacing Oichi’s stalker shrine with a stalker shrine dedicated to his new lover… XD

          it’s quite hard to articulate just how utterly destroyed sal was when he realized what he had to do within addison apartments  ,  that he had to hurt everyone he had ever loved  —  to protect them from a worse fate.  at a point in his life were he had finally begun to heal  ,  to open up about his trauma and truly begin to allow people to get close.           even though in my canon  ,  sal was set free after proof that he had done this to ‘ contain a pathogen that would’ve swept across the world. ‘  he feels as if his life was taken away from him  ,  and he does not know how to pick up the pieces of whatever remains.
