On Lara and her uncanny healing ability / restoration and insanely quick injury recovery .

The reasoning behind why Lara heals from her injuries so quickly in Shadow of the Tomb Raider lies in the previous game, and particularly, when she fell into the river in Rise . Lara actually came extremely, extremely close to dying there — if she hadn't died herself anyway . There's no way Jacob got to her in a timely manner with the helicopter, but when she was pulled from the river , Jacob used his powers from the Divine Source to revive her entirely , and therefore she gained an unnatural ability to heal very quickly and not die from events that would otherwise have killed her via fatal injury. Lara isn't immortal , just very , very difficult to kill . She didn't die when the Source was destroyed because she hadn't linked her soul to it.

This is further supported from her initial leg injury in Shadow where she tells Jonah it doesn't hurt her if she doesn't pay attention to it, and it heals and has no effect on her within a two day period. Then the jaguar attack, which she is completely asymptomatic of within a day despite the immense initial pain . Then when they're shot at with the helicopter, she sustains injury , but no mark is shown later on.

Before in the games , Lara's injuries directly hindered her, but not now. Even in the original Tomb Raider (2013) her impalement injury gave her significant discomfort in both Yamatai and in Siberia , but it's absent in Peru , which points to that unnatural healing ability . The game goes out of its way to kind of point things like this out — she's also left for dead in the crash, and by the speed they landed, that shouldn't have really been survivable, nor would Miguel have left her there. He likely examined her and believed her to be dead, only for her to revive herself / awaken a decent time after he already set up camp / went out in search for help and then leave to try and find him herself .

Injuries typically will heal within a day or two for her , and they don't really pain her unless she directly focuses on it / unless it's bad enough to . She can often seem dead / be deemed legally dead but the Divine Source's power takes a little while to activate properly, and will in time heal whatever she suffered, as long as her body remains somewhat safe.

I am open to writing with anyone who wants a thread with me , but I will only write with those 18 and over . i LOVE plotting and will happily welcome anything into my inbox - don't feel hesitant to drop in and ask for a plot/send in a starter meme or anything similar - I promise I don't bite ! two . some info surrounding me : hey ! my name is ryxon , i'm 20 , queer , and go by they/them exclusively . i tend to be rather busy , as i am a fulltime farmer , firefighter and mechanic . i am very interested in poetry and character analysis , and use them as references when it comes to my writing . my lara is heavily headcanon based and i recommend reading the carrd BIO page due to the way i interpret her character . four . i do not write sexually explicit threads . i am okay with suggestive content, but that being said , i don't write that stuff with everyone . that being said , this blog contains several canon-typical themes , including heavy violence , death , brief mentions of torture , and other canon typical themes of the tomb raider reboot games (2013-Shadow mainly , and also encompasses the events of the animated television series . this blog is mainly set within that timeline and not within the movies / original games . these will be tagged accordingly . follow at your own discretion .

six . i am perfectly happy with any sort of blog following me , be it main/personal or roleplay , though i ask that threads aren't reblogged except by the people directly involved . though i am perfectly fine if others want to follow them/read them as they go . i do not mind any sort of interaction with any of my other posts , but my headcanons and analysis are exclusive to my interpretation of lara croft , and my portrayal relies very heavily on those . they are crafted specifically for my portrayal , so please keep that in mind .

seven . I prefer writing with partners who are at least semi-literate to literate , but I will not ever pressure someone into writing more than they want to . I myself write literate - novella , but I tend to match the length of my partners . i do not expect essays , i myself am very much focused on quality over quantity , and aim to build a well-made story first and foremost . my responses can be slow at times , and i ask reminders are only sent after a couple months without a response . no godmodding , please . asks that don't specify a specific verse will be treated as mainline verse unless they've been plotted/specified beforehand - if you want an AU verse , specify ! i can be slow to respond to some messages as i am rather busy but i will always attempt to do so in a timely manner.

nine . this blog is multimuse && oc friendly , i am more than happy to write with either . i am also open to writing in any setting , or aus. lara is very open to crossovers and alternate settings that do not have to be within the tomb raider universe. she is mainly written in her tomb raider verse , but can be flexible regarding other settings - my main example is the likely tendency to write her also in a resident evil setting that i'll work out at some point but those are the main two where i potentially see her properly within .
