    How in the hell had this happened? He and Jinx had always had a…well, rocky was an understatement…kind of relationship. To most who knew him, the fact he didn’t like Piltover at all was hardly news. It was one of many many reasons why he was always leaving at his earliest opportunity. That was maybe why he and Jinx had a bizarre kinship. He was one of the few people in Piltover who, whilst not being entirely on her side wasn’t actively against her either. On rare occasion offering her shelter as he was now.

    And she answered that kindness by sitting on his back and demanding…press ups? is that what this was? On one hand this was incredibly degrading.

    And on the other hand, a part of him was getting a kick out of this for that exact reason. Not the best time for self discovery,  that was something he’d have to process later. Yet, despite this roller coaster of emotions, he was in far better shape than the excess layers would lead you to believe, and she was very skinny (maybe he should get her something to eat?) so he didn’t have much trouble as he started to do as she told him.

    “Jinx, what are you doing?” He says between breathes, up down up down. It really was a strange sight.

   Ezreal wasn’t one to try and start fights. Frankly he didn’t like violence and the fact that this…well whatever it was, could probably maul him on a whim if it got its hands on him (it wouldn’t of course, but what if scenarios were important when scheming) really helped him decide against getting into an argument.

    Or at least it would have, but the fact was that this…wolf? Werewolf? this Werewolf had really hit a nerve with that statement and against all semblances of sanity screaming “do NOT engage”, he really couldn’t let it slide.

    The forest of Ixtal was a dangerous place, famously so. Despite the fact he wasn’t welcome in the explorers guild...or most of the authoritative circles despite technically being in a position of power because of his uncle...or in general most of Piltover (doesn’t matter why, they weren’t invited to his birthday party so who really won?), even he had heard word of the ongoing conflict in these forests. Piltover was hardly a state that indulged in things like warfare, outside of their hostilities with Zaun that he didn’t really approve of, they kept out of peoples way for the most part. At least, until people offered them some money to be involved. He’d never been a fan of the way his home did things. He himself was far from morally correct in most situations, but he couldn’t stand the idea of putting lives on the line for self-preservation.

    That, is what had taken him to the forest. A little bit of digging made it pretty clear they were somehow losing resources coming here on a mining exposition, and the fact that the top brass had been sneaking troops in whilst they were at it made it pretty clear. They had found something. And they didn’t tell him! was it because he didn’t invite them to that birthday party? maybe they were more sensitive than he thought...

    The forests were amok, trees were half knocked down and their mining machines were in tatters. Standing in the middle of all that destruction was a lone woman. He had seen this kind of thing in old wall scrolls and books. This was an invasion. And Piltover were the aggressors. He found himself circling the woman, who was sizing him up. Conflict was on the horizon if he didn’t work some of the old Ezreal charm here it would seem. Maybe he’d try extra hard to make it work this time.

    “Hey there!~” good, confidence, confidence was key. “I know this seems pretty bad, since im wearing the same colors as these guys but I’m one of the good guys, I promise!” actually hang on a sec... “Well, I guess considering these guys are...uprooting your home or something thats kind of a low bar. I dunno I’m kinda late to this whole thing. Still, I take it you’re in charge around here? You have that kind of aura”

    “I MADE IT! I’M ON TIME!...I mean, barely but I am” It was rare, almost unheard of, that Ezreal actually showed up for classes, never mind actually managed to be on time, but here he was! on time! 

    ...for the bell to signal that this class, was in fact over. It took him a moment to really register what was happening, as people started chuckling as they walked past him...out of class. He turned to Lux, arms drooping in sorrow over his apparent mistake. How could this have happened!? he set his alarm on time, he even woke up for it! He left exactly when he intended to and even made it BEFORE the bell (the wrong bell but he did)...and then it hit him.

    “...it’s daylight savings isn’t it?” so close.
