he had learned early on after his father's passing that it was best not to give a damn about the gossiping of other hunters. back then, he was barely older than sabrina was now herself, sitting here beside him. while he had been subject to a lot of scrutiny from other hunters over being territorial and hard to get along with, his last name hardly came with the baggage that the young woman's did. the carmichaels had found their lineage tied more closely to that of the winchesters with the discovery that they were also should be legacies of the american men of letters... but the winchester name had more ties to supposed prophecy and destiny, everyone that knew anything that had happened in the last twenty years knew that.

since joining the saviors, sidney had prided himself on quiet loyalty. after losing his sister to the war of the special children or whatever the fuck the demon called it and then watched as sam winchester returned from the same fate, he had needed something to fuel his rage into. the lines between hunting monsters and becoming one himself had blurred and he was happy to step in line and have goals and a purpose lay out to him by the others. now that it had been a few months since he joined up, though? he was ready to show initiative, find a way to impress negan.
