BIOGRAPHY
TL;DR
Raisa Turner is the only child of famed hunter Rufus Turner. She was raised by her mother, but talked to her father every night on the phone. He never missed a single night and would come home for visits for her big moments, regardless of what stage of the on and off again relationship with her mother he was in. Her father made it very clear that he wanted her to have a normal life and only told her these things to keep her safe, however, by the time she was fifteen she had started sneaking out to hunt on her own because she couldn't imagine ignoring her ability to save others from the monsters they didn't know about. Her life was tragically cut short when Bobby asked her to help them on a case in Omaha, Nebraska as a get away driver. She was killed by a vetala in the network they were trying to take down. Now, Raisa has found herself resurrected and instantly dove back into hunting with hopes of finding Bobby and her father along the way.
FULL BIO
Raisa Turner was born to Rufus Turner and his on again off again girlfriend Whitney Hart on August 24, 1975. Rufus had insisted on a more traditional Hebrew name for her first name. The couple fought a lot, particularly because Rufus was always on the road hunting and Whitney wanted no part of that kind of lifestyle. The pregnancy had been a failed attempt to get Rufus to settle down and have a family with her. That plan was doomed from the start because of how desperately Rufus wanted to help others, since hunting was all that he had known for most of his life. So, Raisa stayed with her mother, visited by Rufus frequently and called every single day. She was always closer to Rufus, her mother was always a bit of a mess. Raisa never felt half as close to her as she did her father.
Raisa resided in Canaan, Vermont for her entire life. By the time she was twelve, she knew that her father chased and killed the many monsters of the world. From that time on, when Rufus called he told her about all he had seen that day, which she dutifully wrote down in a journal. He wanted her to know about these things in case she ever came in contact with one, but he was hellbent on her having the most normal life that she could with a hunter father. To please her father, Raisa continued to do well in school and talked about mostly made up dreams of what she wanted to do with her life after she got into a good college. You see, she wanted to save people like her dad did because she had heard the awful situation that drove her father to hunting and wanted to prevent more people from dying because of or ever knowing about the supernatural.
However, Rufus also knew that she had to learn how to defend herself, when he was running around on cases with Bobby. Most of her training was done around the house between cases by Rufus himself, with some help from Bobby every once in a while when the two really started to run around together. She pretended this was all she really needed, even though an apple pie life didn’t seem all that interesting to her, because if she did have a family the secrets she would have to keep would be too much to handle and the world needed more people killing all of the stupid monsters out there. This caused her to be weary of having too many close friends, let alone trying to pursue anyone romantically.
Unbeknownst to Rufus and Bobby, Raisa was a pretty decent hunter. She took on cases herself during school breaks, particularly the summer months, and short ones close by on a few weekends. Sneaking around wasn’t too hard around her mother, telling her she was going to a friend’s house for a few days and never venturing too far from home. Her father would have known something was up if she wasn’t home to talk to him on the phone for too long of a time period. This had all been happening since she was about fifteen, taking the extra car sitting around the house without paying too much mind to the law. The girl could have used more actual experience, but she had basically memorized the list of monsters her father had fought, signs that pointed to the different types and all of their weaknesses. There was only one case that she did on her own that floats around in her memory that had been a close call.
A year after she had graduated high school, her father had been home for about a month, vehemently trying to convince her to stay in college instead of dropping out to pursue hunting. Bobby had come around talking about a big hunt that he didn’t tell John about, because John would try to go it alone and cart his boys along who had been in the same school for a few months this time. John Winchester was one of Bobby’s other friends and he had two sons that Raisa had never met because her father kept her existence a secret from most hunters apart from Bobby. Rufus went along to help Bobby, considering the case had been pretty large and needed to be resolved before more people were killed. Raisa begged to go but her father vehemently disagreed with her wishes.
Bobby had called her to come down once they got there, after really seeing the damage the monsters had dealt. They needed a getaway driver and lookout. Rufus was pretty angry and had almost walked away from the hunt, but ultimately let her stay if she stayed out of it.. Raisa saw it as an opportunity to prove to Rufus that she could hold her own and wanted to dedicate her life to saving other people like he had, even if Bobby himself didn’t want her to put herself out there in the hunting aspect of the whole thing because Raisa was all that Rufus really had. Monsters in large cities seemed to be more organized and allied, finding ways to attempt to hide their existence from anyone that might be looking too closely. A strong and numerous alliance of Vetalas were what awaited them there. A very rare occurrence, considering the monsters kept to themselves and with only a partner as companionship.
But the ten or so pairs of Vetalas were able to keep the peace if it meant that they would go undetected by hunters or cause too much of a citywide panic with the amount of victims they were taking. A pair of them in particular grew tired of the rules, however, and started to slip up just enough for Bobby to catch on. They realized they were quite over their head with the case when they realized there were almost twenty vetalas that needed to be killed. They had done pretty well, killing almost all of them them without getting caught by changing vehicles and motel rooms through different parts of the city. However, their last getaway on June 18, 1993 ended in tragedy.
Raisa had been called into town by Bobby as she had been close by on a trip with her mother. One minute, she's waiting outside the last abandoned warehouse that Rufus and Bobby had canvassed as a vetala den and the next she was being yanked out by a pair of vetala that they hadn't accounted for. Raisa being dragged inside had been enough of a distraction for the monster inside to subdue Bobby and Rufus. Raisa's last moments were watching her dad beg for them to spare her life. The blind rage Rufus felt had assisted enough for him to break free and he and Bobby were able to take care of the three remaining vetala. The two men parted ways and Rufus didn't so much as text Bobby back for years.
She didn’t fight the reaper and understood that it was better for her to go along than to fight, because she did not want to end up a vengeful spirit that terrorized people. Raisa was too warm-hearted for that. She spent many years in Heaven with her mother, trying to find any way to check in on how her father was doing. But the thing about Heaven was that you were supposed to focus on your memories and loved ones that were in Heaven with you, not the ones that were still alive on Earth. One day, she woke up alive and well back on Earth. Her first instinct was to go back to her house, but it was abandoned and it didn’t look like her father nor her mother had been there in years. Of course it was easy to find her mother and get the few things of hers she had saved, but she hadn't heard from Rufus since Raisa's death. It’s been a while and she’s just trying to find her father or Bobby, feeling like her connection to her mother was completely cut off with her death.
** Raisa is an OC that was thought of before the mun knew Rufus having a daughter was confirmed by Bobby Singer’s Guide to Hunting written by one of the spn writers. Some of her story is loosely based off the sparse information about her found in that book**
